  1. Dear Cyber Sangat Jee, THIS IS GR88 NEWS !! http://www.hindustantimes.com/news/5967_48...01600060004.htm (View This LINK ) Dr Kartar Lalwani, a leading Indian-origin founder-owner of Britain's first vitamin supplement company, was given the honour most coveted by British Asians, the "Asian of the Year 2003" award in recognition of his pioneering work in pharma-medical research and contribution to charities helping Asian communities. His company Vitabiotics has cornered the major share of the vitamin supplements market in Britain and was awarded the Queen's Award for Enterprise in the International Trade. The previous winners of the award, set up by JS Sachar, who also publishes the Asian Who's Who, include Lord Swraj Paul, Lord Bikhu Parekh, the former Pak cricket captain Imran Khan, Sir GK Noon, Lord Navnit Dholakia and Raj Loomba. Sachar said the idea to start the compilation of names and bio-data of Asians in this country was due to the circumstances prevailing in the Enoch Powell era. "I wanted Asians to get to know each other, unite and become a successful community here and live here in their own right." He was quite stung by Powell's suggestion to give £2000 to Asians here and pack them off to their home countries. The 16th edition of Asian Who's Who was also released at a dinner function at the Café Royal made famous by the Bond film of the same name. The Who's Who is the best and most authentic and authoritative reference book for Asians in this country. But over the years it has als o become a barometer of the immense success and achievement of the community, just three million "who have gone from strength to strength from a small beginning in relatively short time" as Karan Bilimoria, winner of the last year's Asian of the Year Award put it. CB Patel, publisher-cum-editor of the Asian Voice said: "Sachar's effort has been unique. He has knitted through who's who of the entire Asian community and made us feel recgonised." WE SIKHS ARE PROUD OF Dr.KARTAR SINGH JI LALWANI News by :Harjinder S Kukreja SikhNet.com

  6. Guru's Voice to Hear When all the world is looming dark and things seem not so clear, When shadows seem to hover 'round, May I have Guru's voice to hear. When it seems everything's been tried And there's no way to go, Just let me keep remembering, "Sometimes the journey's slow." I may just need to stop and rest ; A time to understand , The path set by the Gurus is the best. As I gain new strength to procede, Without a doubt or fear And the greatest bliss The Guru's voice to hear. I love my Guru, Harjinder S Kukreja.
