It is a shame Khalsa Aid has misinformed members by making a posting without establishing facts.
Most worrying is the accusation that Mr Sohi sued the Gurdwara for £500,000. This is totally incorrect. The case of wrongful expulsion was against the 21 committee members and NOT the Gurdwara. And it was only after several failed attempts to resolve the matter outside the courts. It was the Sher Group committee that deemed it appropriate to use the sangat's money and not pay the fees themselves – why has this not been asked of the outgoing committee.
Whilst I agree that progress has been made on sports and martial arts clubs I cannot recall inspiring seminars and talks on drug abuse, human rights abuses etc (although I am not saying that there were none). Which affiliations/loyalties do you refer to which would prevent such topics being discussed?
It is also mentioned that the Sher Group has saved millions – once again the facts show that income was down compared to the final year of the previous committee once the £5million grant for the school was subtracted from the figures.
I appeal to everyone to please make conclusions based on fact and not rely on here-say. Unfortunately Khalsa Aid has not done this and provided a very biased posting.
