  1. Thank god, at least you have said something sound and logical. Your best post, so far and yet so simple.
  2. Brother or sister, Guest guest Jee. If science exists, is it not more than probable, that even those scientifics laws which you mention, are part of His Hukum? Or is it, that any other entities made those scientifc laws? I do not see any diffrences. It is only we are limited and short sighted, thus we limit and say scientific laws, but, in the end, all those countless universes, levels of consciousness, whether seen or unseen, work under the natural laws for their natural flow. For example, the traffic signals/rules/regulations or call it laws, if the traffic respects them, evrything runs smoothly, if not, it may cause horrilbe accidents and painful consequences. The force of gravity is not the same here on the earth as per on the moon or jupiter. For example, the nature of the fire is to give warmth and light, so if that is His Hukum for fire, fire can never give you coolness or darkness. We can not and should not mix things as same for all different aspects, each thing at it,s own place. It is per Hukum also, the body, mind and our life circumstances which we get, are also per Hukum, in the form of karmas, which clearlly says: aapay beejay aapay khae. So you see everything works under His Hukum. Ad if He is Perfect, what the need to rectify for Him? He makes no mistakes. You see, He is so Perfect, that He can not go against His own established laws or Hukum. If that was the case, why did He come as human beings, respecting the laws of His Nature, by having parents, and born from a womb of a mother, when He came as Guru Sahiban? Why did Guru Arjun Dev Maharaj had to suffer horrible attrocities at the hands of the most heartless and bloody foolish people? Why did He not use His powers to avoid them and punish them? Why did Ninth Patshahee, passed away as He did, was He not Akal Purukh Himself, why did he not save Himself? Why save some as you mention above, and not His human incarnations as Guru Sahiban? Why that discrimination? The answer is, are you sure it was Akal Purukh who reverted the riverflow, or protected Prahlad and not any other incarnation of the hindu trinity? Or when you say, he saved Bhagat Kabir from the elephants? Are you sure, it was Kabir Jee and not the Buddha who was saved from the mad elephant? It could very well be Vishnu Jee, who that did for his devotees and not Wahiguru Himself. Bahamvadee has deeply polluted our sense of perceiving sikhee, so we take such things as powers displyed by Wahiguru, when that is not the case. You may find similarities among all the several incarnations of Vishnu Jee, but the path, the teachings, sikhshaa, given to us sikhs by Guru Sahiban, has no comparison in any way to other faiths and divinities. Sikhee is the simplest path in treading, yet the highest in goals. For we have no trinities nor any incarnations as our goals, nor their realms, but, He Wahiguru Akal Purukh Himself, that also by His apaar grace. Other deties display miraculous powers , weapons, fly in chariots, change their outer appearances, etc ... lay down on a thousand faced snake in a ocean of milk, have a wife massaging his feet and so on, with four arms, their sons, and their spouses, in a summary, a big whole number of these spiritual entities working in their respective realms. And all this goes against what First Patshahee said about that Supreme Being: Ik Oankar: Only One Lord, who is Nirankar, formless. No wives, no children, no daughters in law, nothing of that sort. There where He is, only He exist, and whosoever reaches there by His grace, becomes one with Him without any distinction. Then also, whenever Wahiguru comes here as human beings, comes as simple human beings, though internally, they are He Himself. I almost forgot, Guru Jee came as Guru Sahiban, as normal ordinary human beings, but unlike them, their drishtee is full of mercy and love , which irradiates from them, that is why they are so beautiful and attractive, for they have the Light of Wahiguru in them. They never did anything to benefit themselves or impress anyone, their humility, their namrata was such, that First Patshahee called Himself, as lalaa golaa or das also.... Then when you say: He destroys sins ..... It is just but normal and natural as when you rub a rusted piece of iron against a stone, that its rust is removed. In a similar way, when we rub our mind against the soap of Nam, all our sins are washed away. So yes in that way, our sins are cleansed, but not that we stand still and pray, and He washes our sins just like that.... No that is not like that... His works are beyond our intellect and understanding. We can somehow understand a bit and benefit ourselves, by paying attention to our beloved Guru Sahiban and by engaing in veechar on their Sat Bachan in the Gurbani, and then by following it implicitly. Guest guest jee, I respect your views, for that is also by His Hukum that you have that understanding, like anybody else also. But that much I will also say, there is no comparison of any other dharams to sikhee, which is by far the highest, that also, I proclaim not as sikh, but as an ordinary human being, for sikhee is a universal path for all of His lovers, irrespective of caste, class, colors, creed or genders... Stay blessed. Sat Sree Akal
  3. Hukum or God´s Bhaana is also the current flow of Nature. For example if you sow carrots, you will not get tomatoes or apples for example. So in that sense according to His Hukum, everything runs naturally. Then also, if in your past you have done karmas to fail in any particular subject or any other losses or gains, then that will happen as a consequence of something, not all of a sudden or because someone wants deliberately to harm or favour you. His Hukum is not like that. He created the creation, and then made it run under laws of Nature or call it Hukum, and then He sat aside absorbed in Himself Shabad swaroop, yet He is omnipresent, and omnipotent. The thing is, He never interferes with the course of Nature, unlike we corrupt human beings, trying to adjust everything to our limited perspectives. Sat Sree Akal.
  4. IF SILENCE IS GOLDEN, INNER SILENCE IS PRICELESS Reaching home after a long day’s work, do you request children and others to leave you with a few minutes of silence? Or when there is an argument or when we are in a noisy place, do you wish for moments of silence? But even when we sit in silence, does the mind often make ‘noise’ by way of thoughts of the whole day - of worry, judgment, fear, pain or anger? It is very rare that it creates pleasant and peaceful thoughts that relaxes us. In those moments we realize that staying quiet is not the solution. The solution is to make our mind silent. We play our roles in this physical world through the medium of communication. But our original state is one of inner silence. Life feels pleasant when the mind learns to think slow and right. A silent mind creates fewer and purer thoughts so we experience contentment and peace. Our original home is the Soul World (called Param Dham or Incorporeal world). In this world, we do not have bodies and we don’t even have thoughts. We are tiny sparkling point of light or energy. We live there quietly in the presence of God as peaceful souls. Even today find inner and outer silence very soothing because it connects us at a deeper level to our original form. As we the soul comes down into the physical world and take a body to play different roles, we come into action and interaction. Over thousands of years the mind gets fed with information, beliefs and experiences. It creates thoughts while we are awake … even when asleep. When thoughts clutter the mind, we find it harder to silence it although that is when we long to emerge our power of silence. Unkown author

  6. Guru can definetely make us change our opinion, and destination, if only, we turn out from manmukhs and become Gur-sikhs. So the key for that desired transformation within us, is only, when one gives oneself totally to Him. And giving oneself to Him totally is understanding what Guru Jee tells us through the Bani, and to follow it implicitly. That´s it. Then work diligently and honestly on it. So what is that to be done? Gurbani says: Ik Oankar Satnam, Satgur parsad Jap. There is only one True Lord Satnam/Wahiguru/Akal Purukh, who is realized by His grace when we do His simran/jap. Prabh ka simram sabse oochaa Prabh ka simran man kee mael jaae. Prabh ka simran, garb na vaseh. The whole of Gurbani is nothing, but mahima of One wahiguru Akal Purukh and His true bhakti. Stay blessed. Sat Sree Akal.
  7. As far as I understand, no calculations can be made by anyone in the sense of breaking or loosening any relations or call it attachments. But yes, by His grace there is one option left for us. And that is, only when we do His bhakti/devotion, we get that much attached and absorbed in Him, that then only He matters. No worldy detachment can be possible, without attaching ourselves first to His Lotus Feet. Then it is done all sehaj, effortless. Until then we really start loving Him, it can be all intelectual discussions only. Ekas(He Wahiguru Akal Purukh) bin sabh dandh hae. Stay blessed. Sat Sree Akal.
  8. Hey Redoptics bro, chill down. I never referred you creating fuss or fighting. You just asked a simple question. That is it. There were so many other posters answering also, and in some of their posts I sensed out that hatred and discrimination, that is why after answering you, I requested to not be so petty minded. You are free to ask as many questions as you want bro, there are no restrictions from anyone and least from me. Stay blessed. Sat Sree Akal
  9. If I don’t jap Naam but just sit still after paath does it still count as meditation? To this question of the OP, let us see what Sree Guru Nanak Dev Maharaj reply does HE give below: ਨਾਮੁ ਦੁਰਾਇ ਚਲੈ ਸੋ ਚੋਰੁ ॥੩॥ Naam Dhuraae Chalai So Chor ||3|| Those who do not let the Naam become manifest within themselves, depart like thieves in the end. ||3|| ਪਤਿ ਖੋਈ ਬਿਖੁ ਅੰਚਲਿ ਪਾਇ ॥ Path Khoee Bikh Anchal Paae || The mortal loses his honor, gathering sin and corruption. ਸਾਚ ਨਾਮਿ ਰਤੋ ਪਤਿ ਸਿਉ ਘਰਿ ਜਾਇ ॥ Saach Naam Ratho Path Sio Ghar Jaae || But imbued with the Lord's Name, you shall go to your true home with honor. In these 3 verses above Guru Jee is telling us, that if we do not do Nam japna, we can never ever make it manifest within us, and if we do not make any attempt to make it manifest, we have done nothing, moreover when we leave this plane, we shall be treated like a thief by the yamdoots, for we did not gahtehr the real wealth, yet we filled ourselves with useless karmas; so we shall definetely not go to Him. For going back to Him and becoming one with Him, we have imbue with His name, we have to dye ourselves with His Name. Guru Sahibans instructions for returing back to Him, are / should be Hukum for us, without looking here or there with our manmat attitude. Stay blessed. Sat Sree Akal.
  10. Hearing is one thing, and better than that, or the best is, what Guru Sahiban tells us through the Bani. To your question about above or "oopar". Sree Guru Arjun Dev Maharaj tells us: ਜਿਸ ਕੇ ਸਿਰ ਊਪਰਿ ਤੂੰ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਸੋ ਦੁਖੁ ਕੈਸਾ ਪਾਵੈ ॥ J Jis Kae Sir Oopar Thoon Suaamee So Dhukh Kaisaa Paavai || On the heads of those You stand over O Lord and Master, how can they suffer ? So you see, over or above, is correct in the sense that when we think or meditate, it is in the upper part of our body, in our heads, where our focus or attention works. So when we meditate or pray to Wahiguru, it is within our mind, in the uuper portion of our body, in that sense, Wahiguru is oopar/above/over/our heads. So let us not be so petty and say because other faiths or communities use to describe Him as oopar wala, we should not. Enough of hatred and discrimination! Moreover by doing so we are trying to confine the limitless within the 4 walls of our petty mind. Going a step still further into highness above, Dhan Sree Guru Arjun Dev Naharaj tells us: ਊਚੇ ਤੇ ਊਚਾ ਭਗਵੰਤ ॥ Oochae Thae Oochaa Bhagavanth || O Highest of the High, Most Generous God, No matter if hindus or any other faiths refer to their deites as oopar wala, even then, our beloved Wahiguru Akal Purukh in the words of Guru Jee is the highest, means above all others. Let us not fight or make fuss, out of nothing so irrelevant, so what, if we call Him oopar wala? He is not only oopar wala(upper One), but He is the only Highest also. Stay blessed. Sat Sree Akal.
  11. Gurbani also has a very interesting mention of the number 5, when Sree Guru Ram Das says: ਪੰਚੇ ਸਬਦ ਵਜੇ ਮਤਿ ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਅਨਹਦੁ ਵਜਿਆ ॥ Panchae Sabadh Vajae Math Guramath Vaddabhaagee Anehadh Vajiaa || पंचे सबद वजे मति गुरमति वडभागी अनहदु वजिआ ॥ The Panch Shabad the Five Primal Sounds vibrate with the Wisdom of the Guru's Teachings; by great good fortune, the Unstruck Melody resonates and resounds. Sat Sree Akal.
