  1. I agree they do, do alot of seva, but seva doesn't put food on my families table or clothes on their back right? I just don't like being lied to. i'm not trying to stir trouble, i'm just saying your money doesn't go where its supposed to. And I am a sikh why do you say i am not? That's a bit childish don't you think:?
  2. i think theres a picture of a mosque on the left.
  3. actually this was a sort of trick question. I know how much they cost as i work for one of the channels. but let me tell you this NO-ONE gets payed, if they ever mention staff wages..its all BS. i have met people from the "rival" channels and the too are not getting payed after being promised a full paid job. We all work hard for nothing....money comes in but no-one know where it goes, yet the "bosses" drive big posh cars...i'm on the verge of depression because i'm so broke..but what can i do theres no jobs out there.
  4. wow thats alot of money. thanks for the info.
  5. you cant go wrong with home made smoothies brother. Invest in a cheapo tesco juicer/smoothie machine and juice away. There are a load of recipies on the internet to keep you busy. As for keepin healthy you can't go wrong with dhall and sabji, just don't cook it with ghee and lay off too much chilli.
  6. Brilliant, spreading the word os Sikhi. We need more of this stuff
  7. Does anybody know how much it costs to set up and run these channels?
  8. no need to remove my response, what happened to freedom of speech?
  9. i hate it when sikh cops are involved in some way regarding these issues. They remind me of what black people used to refer to as "house Niggers" during the slavery days. India's police are sooooo corrupt its unbelievable, hopefully Karma will pay them back.
  10. why dont you start a party where theres no drink etc, just a gathering of sikhs, with maybe some sort of exhibition and talk. And maybe some classical indian music...that would be worth going to. In fact i may look into it for next year..hhmmm???(stroking my chin)
  11. i had my registry wedding on vaisakhi, i can celebrate 2 things on one day. And to the original poster why do you not mind if it is a gursikh wedding??
  12. i personally think that gurdwaras should have no committees at all. Maybe a building/site manager who is in charge of bookings and site maintenance and an accountant thats it. thats all you need, banish the caste system and politics from the gurdwaras. Sangat come in to do seva and bring food donations anyway, so why do we need a bunch of free masons sitting in an office telling us what to do and when to do it.
  13. Why can't they have tables and chairs? i'm not being ignorant so dont shoot me.
  14. It was well made, big up to the BBc for putting this out. And with a decent time slot before the F1 instead of at about 10pm, when either everyone is in bed as they have work in the morning or they are watching star plus lol
