  1. Ideally yes but in reality, idealism doesn't always work. Welcome to the real world.
  2. Most kids find school to be boring as well. But how many parents would consider preventing their children from going to school? Most kids don't like eating vegetables yet responsible parents still impose on them the duty of eating vegetables. Maybe Muslim parents are doing some things right which Sikh parents can learn from. I for one am thankful to my parents since childhood who used to impose Dharm on me. When I was a kid, I had to do Paath as it was expected of me to do so. And I thank my parents who imposed this on me because now as an adult who can choose what to do, Paath is an integral part of my life and daily routine. Sikh parents(even religious ones) are way too soft on their kids when it comes to the Sikh lifestyle. All we really do is just keep their kesh but that's about it. I have barely seen any parents who made sure their kids do Paath, simran, kirtan, go take Santhiya. Then we are all surprised when our boys cut their hair, girls start to act all slutish and drunk around Pakistani men. The only way to save what little we have left is to reconnect our kids with Gurbani. Taking kids to Santhiya class is a must, Hire a Giani, pay him if you have to so your kids can have the gift of knowing how to properly read Bani and understand Bani. Worldly education and Dharmic education are both the responsibility of good Sikh parents.
  3. Kalyugi is spot on. Sikhs need to start sending their children to the Gurdwara for religious education. Santhiya should a must in every Gurdwara where children should atleast know how to do Paath and even Kirtan. Sadly instead of sending our girls to the Gurdwara to learn Paath or kirtan our parents are sending their children to Gidha classes and other nonsense activities which will not save them from having to go down the same route this Punjabi model went i.e. ending up with a Pakistani boyfriend. Religious education should have started from the first generation of immigrants, unfortunately they did not see the consiquences of their children's secular upbringing. But what is preventing the current generation from making a change? if the previous generation made a mistake let us not repeat it with the next generation. Sikhs now should send their children to the Gurdwara to be instructed in Gurmat, Paath, Kirtan. Start off with your own children or if you don't have children then ask your brother or sister to send their children to the Gurdwara for Paath and kirtan classes. We need to bring religious values back to the family. Girls in our families should be taught the examples of the ladies from the Guru's house hold who were pious, religious and devoted to the family and their Dharm.
  4. Brother, let me please be clear that I am in no way advocating that gay people be persecuted to be considered lesser human being because of being homosexuals. SGGSj is the ustat of Akal Purkh. SGGSj is not like semitic holy books which says what is right and what is not on worldly matters. For example SGGSj remains silent on pedophilia, necrophilia, zoophilia, incest as well but it does not mean those various paraphilias are accepted in Gurmat. Similarly homosexuality is not accepted if one were to see the life and teachings of Sikh gurus, Bhagat Sahibaan or Mahapursh from puraatan to modern times. The Akal Takht has given it's verdict on homosexuality and it clearly states that a marriage can only occur between man and woman not same sex. You can follow the ways of the world or follow Gurmat. A Sikh is suppose to bend himself to fit into SIkhi not bend Sikhi to fit into their preconceived notions.
  5. Very true, but while as a low level police man he was also charged with corruption and suspended. Later he was hired to spy on Sant Bhindranwalay. After that he came to Canada. He worked as a granthi in BC where he sexually assaulted a woman in his quarters. This low life was a life long communist and that is how is interprets Sikhi. Within a matter of 2 or 4 years Kala Afghana wrote volumes of books literally thousands of pages) which would normally take 25 people to do, this is highly suspicious considering the fact that this guy was only 8th grade pass from the olden times when urdu was taught in Punjab, so he was not even given formal Punjabi education. This man and many like him i.e. Ghagha, Jeonwala, Darshan Lal, Thailandwala, Dhunda are all paid and chelas of Kala Afghana.
  6. You have made a valid point. I have seen many Sikhs born and raised in the west who can hardly speak punjabi but they are very Panthic and Sikh minded. I wouldn't say it is their fault that they can barely speak Punjabi, the fault lies with the parents of those Sikhs who did not speak Punjabi with their children, the result is that their children feel handicapped when trying to speak Punjabi. But to those who are reading this please speak Punjabi with your children. Take them to Punjab often so they can feel a connection to the language and the land of their parents.
  7. Due to political correctness of the modern world homosexuality was taken out of the lists of paraphilias in the early 70s because homosexuality began to be widely accepted by the mainstream American society. This is a case of science being influenced by political correctness. Homosexuality is a sexual deviation no doubt. Some sexual deviations like padophilia, necrophilia are banned while some like homosexuality are allowed. For argument sake, let us say for example that two consenting adults(same sex) want to have a sexual relation with each other, according to you it is okay. Does that mean that incest should also be approved? if a brother-sister, father-daughter, mother-son want to have sexual relations with each other just as long as they are adults is that okay? if not then why is homosexuality okay for you while incest is not? Gurmat does not agree with everything modern American society does. Ask any Sikh scholar or Mahapursh, no one will agree with homosexuality as being inline with Gurmat. Marriage in Sikh tradition is only between man and woman, not man-man, woman-woman, human-animal, elderly-child, brother-sister etc.
  8. Yes I am. These are all considered paraphilias.
  9. WOW, what a hypocrite. This man does not see the congress hand which led to violence in Punjab in the first place. They think that violence only began from Sant Bhindranwalay. Before telling Sikhs what to do maybe Sunil Jhakkar should also ask his own party leadership at center(delhi) to punish Sajjan Kumar and Jagdish Tytler and other murderers of the Sikhs.
  10. They are followers of Gurbaksh Singh Kala Afghana. The name "Kala Afghana" is a village near Batala to which Gurbaksh singh belongs to.
  11. From my observation I have seen that Punjabi parents who speak English with their children belong to two different categories. 1. Those parents who want to learn to speak English but cant. As a result their speak English with their children so in the process they feel they are learning how to speak English. Usually I have seen it is the mothers who do this. It is very common to see some desi mothers speaking tuti phuti angreji with their children, it gets embarrassing for the children after a while. 2. The second category of Punjabi parents are those who have become out right coconuts. They are brown people who think they have become Goras and have adopted the western lifestyle in all aspects. They want to speak, look and act like Goras. They will do all sorts of things to show how Gora they are like celebrate Christmas, wear blue contact lenses, turn their hair blond and what not. This category of people suffer from an inferiority complex. They are ashamed of themselves, so they pretend they are something they are not. Whether it is category one or two, both need to realize the damage they are doing to their children. By not speaking Punjabi with them they are restricting their children's ability to communicate in Punjabi. It is always better to know more than one language. Most of Sikh literature is written in Punjabi. By not knowing Punjabi, one cannot read books written by so many great Sikh scholars or understand Katha from our Gurdwaras.
  12. Where have I said that homosexuals are lesser human being? why are people stating things I did not even say? People have all sorts of sexual urges does not mean we act on them. Some people(pedophiles) feel sexual feelings for little children does that make it okay just because they are programmed this way? Living in the west does not mean we get influenced by everything the westerners do. I'm surprised to see how some Sikhs are defending homosexuality as being in accordance with Gurmat, A Sikhs is one who is like a lotus untouched by it's surroundings. As Sikhs we are not to persecute homosexuals or think of them any less as humans but to go as far as saying that their lifestyle in perfectly okay with Gurmat is ludicrous. If we as Sikhs accept homosexuality as being okay with Gurmat then where do we draw the line? is pedophilia, necrophilia and incest also acceptable to Gurmat according to you?
  13. Brother, I was in India the last 2 months but always read this forum every chance I got. Great hearing from you.
  14. An excerpt on his attitude toward homosexuality reads: "...Yogi Bhajan at first was shocked by the phenomenon. Through the 1970s and early 1980s, Yogi Bhajan taught that the condition could be cured through intensive yoga and self-analysis. By the late 1980s, however, Yogi Bhajan resigned himself to the conclusion that "sometimes God goofs" and puts men into women's bodies and vice versa." --Yogi Bhajan, Comparative, Comprehensive Communication, Eugene, OR, 3HO Transcripts, 1980, pp. 102-3, 221 http://indiakids.blogspot.ca/2009/03/yogi-bhajan-on-wiki.html and yes Homosexuality lifestyle is not in accordance to Gurmat. The Akal Takht has given it's hukamnama in this regard as well which says marriage is for a man and woman not same sex. And where did I say kill gays or persecute them? please do not lie and put words into other people's mouths. Just because a person does not agree with homosexuality does not mean they are being hateful towards homosexuals. Our Gurus, Bhagats, Sikhs from puraatan times to the modern times have always practiced marriage between man and woman. No where do we support abnormal sexual deviancy. Please stop trying to mix western culture with Sikhism. Just as Sikhi rejects certain practices of Punjabi culture same way Sikhi rejects some aspects of western culture such as homosexuality.
  15. On the http://sarblohgranth.com/ site in the articles section it says that there is a Japji Sahib of Sarbloh Granth as well. Meaning just as Japji Sahib is of SGGSJ, Jaap Sahib of Dasam Granth, similarly Sarbloh Granth has a similar bani. Does anyone know of a link that contains that Bani or an audio?
  16. Sarna and Badal are both damaging to the Panth. Sarna is not any better. It may appear that Badal is worse because Badal controls Punjab and SGPC which is bigger and Sarna is only controlling the DSGMC which in comparison is smaller. Badal has sold his soul to the BJP while Sarna has sold himself to the congress. Sarna is the only one who challenges the Akal Takht by giving a platform to the Kala Afghanis like Darshan Lal and Dhunda. It is because of this platform that these Kala Afghanis are getting a sense of legitimacy. Notice how Dhunda and the Kala Afghanis always bad mouth the enemies of Sarna i.e. Badal, SAD but they will never bad mouth Sarna who is openly in bed with the murderers of the Sikhs such as Sajjan Kumar, Tytler, Congress. He will support the separation of Haryana and Himachal from the SGPC which is a congressi agenda. If Sarna were to control the SGPC he would let loose the Kala Afghanis on the SGPC.
  17. Muslims are already ahead in this game, in fact everyone is. It seems Sikhs are the only ones who have not done this. It is a good idea. Criminals are in the need of Gurmat more so than nonCriminals. In our own history we have the examples of former criminals like Sajjan Thag, Bhai Bidi Chand becoming Gursikhs. Many Saints have a past and every sinner has a future.
  18. Please no jokes as this will just serve to make a serious discussion into a mockery. In all honesty both Punjabi Sikhs and white Sikhs have their share of goods and bads. Yogi Bhajjan did do some good work in bringing people from a non Sikh background into the Sikh fold. For this I beleive he used Yoga to attract them. Contrary to what most might think but 3ho is not 100% in line with Yogi Bhajjan's thinking either. For example, Yogi Bhajjan was of the opinion that Homosexuality is abnormal and not in line with Gurmat lifestyle yet according to Guruka Singh and Mr Sikhnet homosexuality is perfectly normal and in no way does it go against Gurmat. In this I beleive that Guruka Singh is passing his opinion based on Manmat rather than Gurmat because he does not give any example from Bani or from the life of the Gurus to support his opinion. As an elder Parcharak who is treated with respect in the community it is the elder's responsibility to do parchar based on Gurmat rather then one's Manmat. Gurmat is based on the life and teachings of the Gurus or if you want to extend it even to include the Bhagats since their lifestyles and teachings were also inline with Gurmat. Guruka Singh is an elder man and in our culture we give respect to elders, and I don't think he means anything bad, he is a Sikh and is our brother. Mistakes happen by everyone but that mistake does not mean we should insult him but instead we should try to inform him of his mistake. If he still does not want to agree then we should leave it to Guru Jee and just ignore such a person.
  19. That is an amazing post Bijla Singh Jee. In Jaap Sahib it says in the 3rd chand Anek hai| phir ek hai| can this refer to Sargun (anek hai) and Nirgun (phir ek hai). Anek hai can refer to the fact that Vaheguru exists in all his creation as a result he is anek yet he is ek in nirgun form.
  20. Vah Ji Vah Singhg Bhaaji. Thank you very much for providing these pictures. The 10th master's bani is beyond the comprehension of manmukhs like the Kala Afghanis. Since they cannot comprehend it's beauty they go out of their way to spread their manmat and koor parchar against this divine work. I don't know when we Sikhs began doing so much kintu prantu. All we need to do is focus on meeting our creator and for that we need to concentrate on our jeevan by following rehet and japping naam as much as we can. This world is a dream and impermanent.
  21. Great find. Manmukhi people will always be against Maharaj's Bani. Back then it was the Ram Raiyas, Bhasouriaas, now it is the turn of the Kala Afghanis. But in the end Khalsa will also overcome this current obstacle as we have in the past. We need to do our part and be alert and spread awareness about Kala Afghanis and their atheistic agenda.
  22. IMHO Sikhs in the west need to raise enough money to create their own Taksals in the west which can serve to train Sikhs as parcharaks and granthis. Muslims in the west have their own Madrassa system established in the west, Christians and Jews have also plenty of seminaries yet Sikhs have failed to create their own Taksals/seminaries in the west to impart Gurmat knowledge to western Sikhs. Sadly, the result is evident, we now have these heretic Kala Afghanis making major inroads amongst Sikhs in the west with their communistic/atheistic version of Sikhism.
