  1. This issue has been brought up several times in the past few years. When we talk about bibia being granthis in the Darbar Sahib, I always think, how many "other" gurdwara sahibs have their head granthis / main appointed keertani as bibia inside and outside of India? I have seen a few keertani jathas of bibia, seen bibia who do occasional keertan seva in local gurdwaras and also seen a bibi doing katha, but I haven't heard about many doing the seva as the main person in any gurdwara sahib. Before jumping onto the pavitar seva of Darbar Sahib, bibia first need to become active in other gurdwara sahibs. And, it would look better if bibis were taking more interest in this topic. lol
  2. I have heard about hansaliwale babaji, he is truly a great Mahapursh. The video doesn't say who the baba is so rest is just unconfirmed. Moreover, If the patient yuvraj doesn't doubt his baba jee then why such raula.

    Marriage Age

I think 3 to 4 years plus or minus is fine either way as long as both of you are at about the same level maturity wise. There are a few couples in my family where the singhnee is elder than the singh, and they all are doing pretty good. Good luck!
  5. I am posting this because I'm so disappointed at how our youth doesn't think twice before using bad language. Some highly abusive words have become a necessary part of each and every sentence coming out of some people's mouths. It is so annoying specially when such filthy words are uttered by someone who looks like a gursikh. When confronted, some people say they don't litterally mean it. I mean, why even say something filthy when you don't mean it? just because you think it is cool? skipping out some filthy words from your regular vocab won't make you uncool!!!!! and... it breaks my heart when i see a sikh saying bad words to another sikh. My humble request to my Gursikh brothers and sisters is to refrain from the use of foul language. gurU kw isK gMd-vwkI nw hovY guroo kaa sikh ga(n)dhaavaakee naa hovai The Sikh of the Guru should never speak disgusting speech. Rehatnama Bhai Chaupaa Singh Jee Sorry if I offended anyone.
  6. do you mean the Nitname Gutka? I might have one with santji's name. are you looking for the one from the 80's, or a more recent one?
  7. could have been better if they used better, more sikh looking actors
  8. I thought the topic was a real question asking what is nishan... but turns out someones trying to promote the organization named nishan
  9. I wonder why do gurdwara matrimonial even carry profiles of people not wearing wanting to marry turbaned Sikhs?
  10. Let the vichola handle the money matters. I know they are being cheap by offering just 50%, but I'd say don't bring ego in, and let the parents decide what is best. You should be grateful you were saved from a disaster of a marriage. It is hard, but ignore people's comments. It won't be difficult for you to find a good match, and there is no hurry... just be strong!
  11. The early years of life are the most impressionable years of one's life. The earlier you teach them, the better they remember. In my opinion, it is very important that parents teach gurmukhi, gurbani, punjabi and itihas (sakhia) to their kids from an early age. They can learn their alphabet and "twinkle twinkle" at pre-school/ kindergarten, but won't be able to learn any sikhi there.
  12. Looks really good! Can't wait to visit. I wish I was in Punjab right now
  13. Use any non-perfumed oil. I like coconut oil the best. For best results, apply lots of it, leave it in overnight and wash your hair in the morning.
