  1. You can't escape the fact that baba Ajit Singh was from mata sundari and the other 3 sahibzadey were from mata jito Ji
  2. Exactly! And there's a reason why Rastafarians keep kesh too ... And don't forget the stash! Lol
  3. Narakdharis are the clowns who started this crap by opening fire on akj singhs on vesakhi 1978. Things escalated from there, eventually leading up to bluestar. They are officially known as nirankaris and they love to call us 'orthodox', a label which only seals the khalsa's authority as original.
  4. Bro auzer? Are you a Pakistani Sikh? Just curious with the term 'we' tagged with 'pakistan'
  5. Yeah, that avatar was a giveaway lol
  6. Oh damn... That's sad... The hell the family must be going through... The offender should be chastised
  7. Sikh regiment paratroopers( compulsory amritdharis ) wear helmets during parachute jumps. Cos at that altitude and speed , the dastar will just unravel in the first few seconds. I too had to wear a helmet over my keski when I did rappelling during heliborne ops. It was for safety reasons... The keski could unravel and get stuck in the heli's rotor blades and cause damage
  8. A friend of mine who kept his rehit during national service used to tape up his kacchera closer to the inner thigh area, simulation an underwear, so his thighs wouldn't get abrasions when going for long runs or marches. He also got a gatra custom made to fit the kirpan just below his chest, something like those gun holsters mobsters wear under their suits. And he kept his kirpan 5-6 inches for safety reasons, and got it chromed so it could stay rust free after sea swims. The kara was usually the thin type which you can pull up your forearm and keep it there as a precaution not to injure others while playing sports or during close combat classes. And he survived the army with this, I guess sports shouldn't be a problem :-)
  9. So basically it's referring to manmat songs, which in a way it's true... Romantic songs induce lust, gangsta ones induce krodh, etc... But you gave the impression in your first post that all music should not be heard, and I think a lot of us mistook gurbani keertan and dharmik songs for that too... Thanks for clearing up :-)
  10. It depends if you're the type of person who gets influenced easily or you're someone who can hold Their own admist hostility. If you're from the first category, I'll wait till university starts , and see if I can still maintain my rehit for a few Months... If you can, then with maharaj kirpa it shouldn't be a problem. For me, I had amritvela for 5 months, and once I got drafted into the army, everything went down the drain, because of my mental weakness and peer pressure
  11. Thanks bro, I wouldn't have made it if not for maharaj's daya.my next challenge will be in July when I go back for 2 weeks of reservist training with the very people whom I comitted bujjer kurehits, hopefully maharaj will make me strong enough to maintain my rehit even during that phase.
  12. To add on, pesh from akj is strictly a personal preference, not offending anyone, I have full respect for all panthic jathebandis. Also, sis, I've started keeping 4 kakkars already, and will don the kirpaan with maharaj kirpa this vaisakhi. After which , I will wait for maharaj to tell me when I'm ready to pesh myself :-) Think hard, really hard, don't jump into it :-)
  13. Sis, you could take my case as reference. I was keshdhari all along and cut my hair when I was 15. When I was 20, I read about sant Ji and 84, and got inspired to take Amrit, but my feelings were really Josh and nothing else. I took Amrit from a taksali jatha. About 2 months later I went for a Sikhi camp, and was heavily influenced by different people. It started with eating eggs, then fish, then meat. Amritvela stopped. Nitnem stopped. Soon after I was drafted into national service. I removed all my kakkars so I could fit in, and picked up smoking, and weekend vice activities with my platoon mates. After basic training I was transferred to section leader school, where I had better company, I stopped smoking because the officer commanding of my company knew my father. I picked up sukhmani sahib, reciting it regularly. After 5 weeks, I was given my final posting, to Guards ( an elite infantry unit with heliborne ops) as a sniper. There were 15 of us in the platoon, mostly smokers. My path stopped and I picked up smoking again. During the next course of 15 months, I tried amritvela a few times but whenever it came to jungle/field training for weeks end, I'll give in to smoking to ease the fatigue. The usual platoon drinking sessions in the mess continued. A year left to completion I was married to a girl who was totally inclined to hinduism despite being a Sikh, which until today is a hindrance to me going for pesh. After my 2 years of national service, I started work In my family business. This time I fell into the trap of tantriks, saadhs and babas hoping to improve my financial luck in the stock markets. In three years, I lost all my 60k investment, which happened around 2 months ago. That was what opened my eyes and I came running back to gurudev's feet. Ever since he has blessed me with vegetarianism, amritvela and an amazing nitnem of 11 banis. I'm now like a newborn child, opening his eyes to the truth and with maharaj kirpa I can Take baby steps to being a gursikh again, hopefully gaining enough strength to go pesh for all 4 bujjar kurehits. And I hope to be blessed with pesh from akj. :-)
  14. Lastly, I'm done with this topic, I've made my points supporting the use of steroids. However, on a personal note, if I'm amritdhari, I would refrain from it's use, because, on roids, you need to consume an insane amount of protein, something which lentils and tofu or paneer can't provide. It HAS to come from meat products, which have a higher percentage of bioavailability. Failing to do so will create a catabolic reaction in your body which will cause your muscle tissues to be broken down and used up for energy. Therefore, taking roids on a vegetarian diet will just be a waste of money and dangerous to the user becAuse of insufficient nutrition. Thank you.
  15. This is a discussion on the use of steroids, Not a personal attack on steroid users, so please refrain from assuming their work ethics. For one you'll be suprised that steroid users end up working out harder and more intensely than naturals, to squeeze out every single cent out of it. I personally when was on a cycle, worked out harder and more frequently than when I was natural because I knew I had performance enhancers on me. That also meant I ate more frequently and carefully, I won't deny that an increase in testosterone does increase adrenaline, but you have to know when to use it. I kept it for the gym, trashed and abused myself there, and remained normal outside of it, not giving krodh an excuse. It's all about responsibility.
  16. Gosh, so much hostility over steroids? The irony that most of your countries' sporting heroes have stanozolol and sustanon and winstrols on their weekly supplementations. From athletics to boxing to baseball to basketball to wrestling and what not. Heck roids were legal all the way up to the 70s! Like what I said, its a double edged sword. Use it wisely and it will give you physical benefits which will in return be beneficial to your well being. Let's face the facts, how many of us actually have the time to train 3 hours a day and eat 8 meals a day and sleep 10 hours a day? With roids you simply get the same results with halving the above figures. Of course you physicAl output has to be harder.
  17. Intoxicants disorient your mind causing you to do things or behave in a way different than normal.stuff which you may regret when you're sober. Steroids are performance enhancing drugs. They accelerate your physical performances, and are really safe if you follow the correct cycles and post cycle therapy. I have personally used steroids and have not encountered any intoxicating effects whatsoever, so classifying them with Bhang and alcohol is absurd. Even with regards to increase in short temper, Mann jeetay jag jeet.(if you can win your mind, you can win the world) with kirpa of satguru Ji. I personally see nothing wrong with roids as long as they are taken properly. There's nothing more beautiful than seeing a sabat soorat Singh with a fit body :-)
  18. Personally, once you get the hang of doing Akal ustat for a few weeks, it can be easily completed with clear recitation under 45 minutes ... I guess it's the same with every bani, once you get the hang and maharaj showers his kirpa, everything sets into place...
  19. I fear the days when we will revert back to being called "Nanak-panthis" and "gobind singhis". But Khalsa is jugaad sach. Fixing our minds on the lotus feet of dashmesh pitaah, remembering the sacrifices of our chotey sahibzadey, we will pull through this too.
  20. No. Being judgmental or inciting guilt was not my intention. The post was directed at those who stray away from sikhi and it's history. The rest of us could've used it to reflect about what mata gujar kaur must've gone through. My point was, the next time we see our kids, think of the sahibzadey and try to model our own children after them. Our children get made fun of, ridiculed, at school, I went through it myself when I was a kid. By telling our children about our rich history, we can instil the sense of pride in them to look the way they look. That was my point. My topic was "think" I.e. Reflection.
  21. If you were told today that your children or grandchildren will be bricked alive tomorrow, how would you feel? Or worse, if they told this to you themselves, how then? tonight, they're with you, tomorrow they'll be gone. Will you try to plead with the authorities? Will you agree to their conditions? Will you have so much courage as to suck it all up and instead prepare your children or grandchildren for death tomorrow? How will you prepare them? Will you have enough composure to recite to them tales of the bravery their elders displayed, so that they won't give in at the last minute? Will your hands be stable enough to tie their dastaars tomorrow? (Oh wait, do your children even have their kes kept?)When they stand admist tyranny tomorrow and proudly get bricked up, will your eyes be dry enough to be able to watch?5 and 7 years old. Just imagine.they gave up their toys, comforts, luxuries so we can keep our heads held high today. How many of us sport uncut hair and turbans on those heads? Think. And think again. Remember our shaheeds. For their blood has kept the tree of sikhi and Khalsa panth green and growing.
  22. Singapore is worse. Invited chaman lal to the gurduwaras, and always allow inter faith marriages to take place. Out of 7 gurudwara sahibs, only one is taksal oriented. 3 gurduwaras are split into majha malwa and doaba sangats. If any Katha vachak takes a pro Khalsa-stance, he is chastised by the Mona majority, At least you guys have people who can get together and stop beadbis. We can't . The small akj community doesn't even go out to the gurduwaras much, as they have larrevaar saroop in one of the homes.
  23. Just thinking about these next few days is gonna be tough.... Every moment I feel heavily indebted.
