  1. Its gonna be awesome! ONLY 3 MORE DAYS!!! y'all better take TONS AND TONS of pics :D
  2. All i gotta say here... is jasy you are one crazy sista
  3. Fairly stated..one can watch a movie in order to learn about a religion, but its not the same as being there yourself. What i do not understand is, what will you loose by going to the mosque? One should be more openminded to these types of oppurtunities. They didnt want to go the Gurdwara, thats fine thats their choice end of story. But now it is your chance to show them that you can still stay true to your faith, whilst learning about their religion and visiting their mosque. As long as they dont try to "convert" you im sure you should be ok.
  4. Waheguru ji ka khalsa, Waheguru ji ki fateh In i think it was November... my school had also had a trip to go the various temples... including the muslim Mosque. When we went they did not make you bow or anything like that.. they simply just made everyone sit on the floor and then imam talked about the religion and so on. Just because the muslims did not want to go into the Gurdwara, does not mean that you have to sink to their level. As a Sikh you should show respect to every religion, and IMHO i think that by not going you are showing them disrespect. What is gonna happen to you if you go??? you may learn something new.. or even find out that the religion is not as bad as the followers and other people make it out to be. Muslims did a lot of bad things to us in the past, but Guru ji teaches us forgivenss. Thats just my opinion bhull chuk maaf Waheguru ji ka khalsa, Waheguru ji ki fateh
  5. Here is the link to the shabad, because when i tried to copy and paste it from the site the words did not come out correctly. http://www.sridasam.org/dasam?Action=Page&...lish=t&id=14178 Hope that helps Waheguru ji ka khalsa, Waheguru ji ki fateh
  6. Waheguru ji ka khalsa, waheguru ji ki fateh Thank you soo much, this has really helped. The track that i was listening to was by Bhai Nirajan Singh, and the shabad was Man tan tera dhan bhee tera, it was really beautiful as well. Thanks again Waheguru ji ka khalsa, waheguru ji ki fateh
  7. Waheguru ji ka khalsa, waheguru ji ki fateh! The other week, i was listening to a shabad and there was a parmaan in it... and then line was "rajaan kai rajaa, maharajaan kai maharajaa". I tried to look it up on STTM but i could not find it. Does anybody know if this is actually gurbani, and IF it is...where could it be found? Bhul Chuk Maaf Waheguru ji ka khalsa, waheguru ji ki fateh!
  8. Waheguru ji ka khalsa, Waheguru ji ki fateh!! it was me... the person how got their hair cut in class. Anywas just my input here, wearing a ramal is awesome cuz the main point if covering your head right... but then you get into other issues. I personally wear a ramal on my head not allowed to wear dastaar due to other reasons but ya. I have had many people come up and ask me " oh soo you are muslim right???" and then i have to explain that no i am a Sikh. ANd then they will be like " oh soo didnt your religion come from muslim religion??" it totally becomes a pain when you have like 5 ppl come up and ask you the same thing. Also.. i have had family members that i am " close with" call me a Somalian or Musalmani. Anyways point of the story if a person can wear a dastaar it is soo the way to go. Plus dastaars are sooo beautiful on Sikhs, just beautiful. If you cant wear dastaar, even by just putting hair in a joora can prevent this from anything happening, just incase it is tried. Waheguru ji ka khalsa, Waheguru ji ki fateh!!
  9. Dude all you sangat out there YOU ALL BETTER COME TO THE KIRTAN DARBAR.... ITS GONNA BE AWESOME.
  10. Honestly events like this should not even be organised... such a waste. personally i think that if i guy is gonna go and trim his daree, then he better not wear a turban cuz that is soo disrespectful to our Guru. its just sooo wrong!!
  11. Waheguru ji ka khalsa waheguru ji ki fateh!! We are to live out Guru Ji's Hukam every single day that we live, no matter what we are doing or where we are. When u are getting married... u are getting married in front of YOUR GURU... and soo in the end WHO ELSE CARES what u look like or how much gold ur lengha had or how heavy ur churian were. Ya manmukh's may talk and be like " what was up with her.. not jewellery...nothing" but who cares about what they think. In the end all u have to do is make ur Guru Ji be happy with u and everything else will come into place. Stay simple.. and thneu with all the money u saved u can put it towards something useful..or amybe even donate it. Waheguru ji ka khalsa waheguru ji ki fateh!!
  12. Could someone plz explain what the reason behind Guru Ji saying this could have meant. Many of the other Hukams that he gave us i understand, or atleast i THINK i understand the reasoning behind them but am bit lost when it comes to this one. Bhul Chuk Maaf Waheguru ji ka khalsa waheguru ji ki fateh!!
  13. ohhh.. the samagam is gonna be sooo awesome... cant wait
  14. Waheguru ji ka khalsa waheguru ji ki fateh!! I think that in a situation like this Guru ji would not consider u a bad person.. or bad Sikh becuase u had ur chest shaved. ( but then again.. who are we to decide how he would 'feel' about it But if u really thinkg about it... no matter what... if u are supposed to live then u will. It is his hukam that u live or die. So why would u take the chance and go against ur prinicipals anyways. If u are supposed to die at that moment... no machine is going to keep u alive, and then again if u are to live.. then u will no matter if u use it or not. Bhull chuk maaf Waheguru ji ka khalsa waheguru ji ki fateh!
  15. Waheguru ji ka khalsa waheguru ji ki fateh!! just wanna add that im a Sikh,( have also been lucky enough to receive Amrit).. and i do have a 'gorey' name... not that i like it or anything but i do have one. I had planned to change it during Amrit sanchaar., but then i did not end up changing it.( This is a little off topic but would it still be ok..if i were to change it now??) Sooo....Having a name from Gurbani is an amazing thing... but i think that when people recieve a name from Gurbani and then do bad things, it is some what of a disrespect towards Guru ji. Bhul chuk maaf Waheguru ji ka khalsa waheguru ji ki fateh!!
