To the immense response and upset that this video has caused, out of respect for your beliefs, we have made the video private for only those who came to the retreat. I would just like to repeat again these are not "our maanmath beliefs" but are what our Shri Guru Granth Shaib Ji instructs. It may not be in the exact way of protocol you wish it to be but it has been done in a way that will capture the Western mindset. From that starting point, people can then make the choice to go deeper into the teachings and possibly Sikhi. The world needs consciousness and awareness and Yogi Bhajan knew this was the only way. Don't judge us because we were not born in the Punjab and raised by a Sikh family. We are doing our best with what we have and it is just as disrespectful for you to say we bring nothing to this world. No One is judging you because " were not born in the Punjab and raised by a Sikh family" And no one is saying "you dont bring nothing to this world" I can guarantee Yogi Ji and Snatam Kaur have brought more people to take Amrit than the people on this forum who say we are a cult and damaging Sikhi. Dear Saranpal Kaur, Welcome to the dicussion and i am glad you have not shied away from bringing your opinions across. However the actions of dancing to Gurbani with Techno music remixed into it is totally against the teachings of the very same Shri Guru Granth Shaib Ji Maharaj that the sacred words are taken from in this video. Everyone makes mistakes (me included and a lot of them) and as Maharaj teaches us we must learn to forgive and see the good values in everyone. While i very much respect the dedication of white Sikhs in practicing amrit vela every morning, dancing to Gurbani is a definate No No. This is not "Mine" or anyone elses opinion but is what Shri Guru Granth Shaib Ji Maharaj Instructs us. As Veer Ji Only Five has stated dance all you want but please do not do it to Bani or Waheguru Simran. If we are looking for the love and blessing of Shri Guru Granth Shaib Ji Maharaj then we need uphold the respect of Maharaj. As i have stated in my previous post Shri Akal Takht Shaib has already adressed the issue of "Punjabi" Giani's releasing Keertan albums where the instrumentals are taken from Bollywod or Bhangra music so please do not fall into the same trap. WJKK WJKF Benjahmin Ji, Firstly i am glad that you have decided to post a comment and secondly i would like to apologise if any of my words have been offensive to you. I am far from a perfect person myself and hold my hands up to that. Whilst i respect that this celebration is meat, alcohol, drugs free and Maharaj was not present the point still comes down to what Maharaj says themselves in relation to finding the almighty through dancing (Quotes have been given in previous comments). Personally i do not have an issue with you dancing however the same guru's bani should not be used to dance to as this becomes an act of maanmath. Ultimately no one can phsically stop you from doing what you want and the Jhaam Dhoot and Dharamraj will be the one we ultimately answer to. I totally agree that anyone can jaap naam (including even the most wrong doers) however this needs to be done with satkaar and not in condradictory terms to what maharaj is telling us. The Shri Akal Takht Shaib has even upheld the respect of Shri Guru Granth Shaib ji maharaj's Bani / Keertan Shabad by speaking to the Gianis who have made Kirtan albums with the instrumentals from bhangra songs or bollywood movies. On the one hand you say that you are open to guidance however in the following sentence you say that you know exactley what you are doing and are fully aware of your actions. So which one is it Guidance or you know exactley what you are doing and are not insterested in what anyone else says ? Please a humble benthi, dance all you want and do all the yoga you please but using Bani in contradictory terms to what maharaj says is wrong. (Even though i agree that their is no excuse for rubbing up men and having your distar coming off your head as a result of head movement) 2. No where in history have heard or seen anyone dancing around and putting a trance remix to Bani. 3. ISN'T MAHARAJ ALWAYS PRESENT WITH US AND WATCHING OUR ACTIONS ????

To be honest i dont really care about the dancing. They could have just had the instrumental on, but having the Bani in there is a no no. Shouldn't we ben trying to follow the teachigs of Shri Guru Granth Shaib Ji Maharaj and take maharaj's advice on this topic ? May be i have missed something but does maharaj say anything that justifies pysical dancing ?

Also a greater threat of where does this stop ?? How much longer before maanmath like this starts happening at fully blown parties where people are intoxicated ?

Paa Ji, i am not making any personal assumptions but just trying to go by what maharaj says. Wouldn't you agree that as soon as we start having our personal view then that is classified as maanmath ?

Shri Guru Granth Sahib instructs us (Ang 158-159, English translation): The fools perform devotional worship by showing off, they dance and dance and jump all around they only suffer in terrible pain, by dancing, and jumping, devotional worship is not performed, but one who dies (gets rid of ego) in word of the Sabad , obtains devotional worship.
