I dont think the hindu and christians are going to convert to save our gurdwaras. What we need is for Sikhs who already live in Pakistan to take control themselves and for outside Sikhs to fund them. The Sikhs who live there are mainly business men, and for us to get them to look after the gurdwaras, we would and should, have to pay them a sum that would match their current earnings.

Plus it would be better if the Pakistani Sikhs couples were having 10 kids as well.

tbh y cant sikhs do parchar 2 hindus/christians in pakistan, coz durin british rule in panjab, especially in the 1930's and 1940's, sikhi was the fastest growin religion and had more converts than other religions, so its not as if we r aliens 2 parchar work, but we have slowed down immensly and fallen asleep. If apnay really give it ago, they cud, but our kaum is in such a state, we dont even do bloody parchar in east panjab enuff or in liberal land like england. But if we wanted to, we cud definitly get success in parchar 2 the oppressed in pakistan. Theres no other faith that gives u honsla/courage like sikhi does, n maybe thats wat these christians/hindus n "lower caste" muslims need.

Sad but the SIkh population of Pakistan is too low, just in the thousands. Perhaps if there were a few Lakh Sikhs, they could have taken care of the Gurdwaras better. So far our only hope is to do Sikh Parchar there to the Pakistani Hindu and Christian population and increase the Sikh population like this since Pakistan has a large Hindu and Christian population.

well funny u say that paaji, coz remember the sindhi hindus, r actually mostly sehajdharis, who wanted 2 take amrit durin the 1940s, but due 2 partition happenin wen it happened (1947'), these guys never got 2 take amrit, and therefore havnt probably seen any amrit sanchar ceremonies, and stayed as they are. they are fluent in gurmukhi, and wen some sikhs visit pakistan as yatris (pilgrims) or as grouped jathas, thats when they have opportunities 2 become sikhs n khalsa.

yea ive seen this back in 2007 wen it came out on bbc, n i got it on dvd somwhere in ma house, i LOVED that episode. he goes 2 shimla, he goes 2 a sikh wedding also, where 2 british sikhs got married in panjab. also he goes 2 amritsar n sees harmandar sahib, then goes 2 wagah border and finaly crosses 2 pakistan panjab n goes 2 his pind.

regardin the gurdwara, well wat u expect man, wen most sikhs in pakistan dont even live in panjab, but in tribal areas with pathans.

Singhs did what we had to do in Southall at a time of crisis.

1st night priority was only given to where ever Guru Sahib were.

everything we get in this life is a result of a combination of actions in this life + karma (actions from previous lives) + (occasionally) Guru's grace. And this doesn't mean that I'm passing judgment on someone who is born disabled, it is not our right to judge. Even enlightened beings and saints have made numerous mistakes in their past lives. In this life a person could live a life in which they are physically well off, and in the next janam they may be disabled b/c those are the karams which had to be paid off, karams which may come from many lifetimes before.

This is basic Sikh philosophy. Up to this point I have never heard any deviation from it. It's the abramhic religions that teach that things just happen to be a certain way without any explanation whatsoever. Although I believe Guru sahib organises our karams in such a way that we can learn from them, it is not necessarily always going to be this way.

Karma can be eliminated or mitigated through seva simran and satsangat. Some karams, however, must be paid off in this life. These are referred to as pralabad karams. But the severity of these karams can be reduced through seva simran satsangat.

I'd say American Sikhs have a great opportunity to carry weapons and guns as you are allowed to. Maybe all American Sikhs need to get a gun and use it if needed. We have already seen that Sikhs are likely to be attacked, maybe its time we don't sit around like ducks waiting to be hit, and when we are hit not doing anything.

However, look at the Indian Army stats,they form only 2% of the Indian population. At one time, 25% of soldiers and 33% of officers in the Indian Army were Sikhs. They have won major battles for India. It was under their command India defeated Pakistan in the 1965 and 1971 wars. Today the figures are something like this 15% of soldiers and 20% of officers are Sikh. Don't these figures say something, maybe some of us can still fight.

And did you know, in Malerkotla, Punjab Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaj had given a bachan that the muslims in Malerkotla (a fair majority of the city) will remain unharmed throughout the ages and they have, not one was effected in 1947. So such a statement is not right.

1947 proved we r a martial community, we chopped muslims into pieces from our areas n also sent the rest of em packin. i say this coz they started it, and we finished it! Look @ southall, it has the most jewellary shops than any other place, yet not 1 shops touched, even tho it was targetted by looters, via blackberry messenging each other. As soon as the looters arrived in southall, they saw weapon-clad sikhs outside ALL the gurdwaras, n legged it back 2 wherever there from, not even botherin 2 try n loot the broadway.
