  1. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh ji

I saw this post couple days back and were searching left right centre for a glimpse of the Chandan Chaur Sahib but to no avail until now. I was actually searching for close ups of the Akal Takht interior and found this beauty. Look closely :)

These photos were taken in August 2011. So to answer your question, yes the Chandan Chaur Sahib is still a part of the Toshakana.

Enjoy, cherish and share such rare images.

  2. beer festivals and such events are held in the venue infront of the Prospect street Huddersfield Gurdwara.

The venue was called the 'Sikh Leisure centre' since it opened. Recently, a year or so ago, it was re-named 'Apna Venue' - obvz because of the pressure from satkar groups etc.

The venue was built with funds raised in the Gurdwara from the Sangat. The venue is now supported by grants from the local gov. until a few years back the gov had stopped funding the venue because of a misuse of funds...someone filling their back pocket...this was obvz broadcasted under the 'Sikh Leisure Centre' banner.

With a new committee in place, independant to the Gurdwaras, and certain alterations in line with the council specs, the gov is again funding the venue. some community interest or something scheme.

many pre/post wedding events, parties, festivals etc take place here, alcohol meat music you name it. what seperates this venue from the gurdwara? a road.

To Pyara veerji, great intiative calling up the pardhaan of the gurdwara etc. The gurdwara committee changes every so often but its the same people, the same cr*p and nothing changes. Something seriously needs to be done about Huddersfield sangat. Sikhi is a thing of the long forgotten past here.

    Pul chuk muaf ji

  3. Mann sahib, what a bakwaas post!

Whats the point in this daft post?! Creating drifts between people. Bringing up baseless cr*p about castes.

Note to ADMIN, why not ban all caste based posts?

One minute we're saying theres no caste, the next your blaming Sikhs of a certain caste for failures etc??

wow this guy will never change. '4 bearded tough men...sikhs'. yet his wife says she can not say whether or not they were sikh. 'pulled out his kirpan or knife or dagger, i can not remember what it was' well why refer to it as a kirpan if you can not 'remember' what it was? did he even the see the weapon that was used? how can you not remember a weapon you've just been attacked with IF you had seen it?

    Total bakwaas.

  5. Becuase i just wanted to ask whether or not the OP heard of it, i have seen a video on them and i wanted to know if she watched it... i am not amritdhari i doubt i will be.

Yoour were the one that swore, so it seemd like u wetrent chilled out!

    huh amritdhari? i didnt ask...

ooo my bad...i'll stand in the naughty corner..

  6. This question may seem a little off topic and i apologise in advance if i offend anyone or say anything wrong.

Is it necessary to eat langar if we're not in need of it? I.e. If im not hungry, ive had parshaad and i would rather someone who is hungry and needs Guru ka langar has my share, is this wrong?

I have langar if im hungry after being at the Gurdwara for a long time and even then its 1 parshada and a little daal and jal. But generally after parshaad i dont feel the NEED to have more langar. Is this being disrespectful?

And then you see people going for seconds or takeaways...

    Pul chuk maaf ji

  7. S4INGH calm down yeah everyones entiled to there opinion!! listen i wanted to ask if she had every hear dof them dont get your pant sin a twist!!!

Wow chill out veer lol my pants are perfectly untwisted...thanks for the concern.

I asked a question, how does the illuminati relate to blackmagic? Simple enough question no?

How you've come to the conclusion that im bothered by anything i dont know... :s are you antharjami veer? :s

  8. Hope you've kept your receipt. 14days return period. After which you may purchase yourself another.

Is this what its come down to? We see a wife or husband as a product? An icon? All searching for a get out clause...guess what...it doesnt exist!

Shame shame shame dude. You know what they'd do back in the day with people like you? Strip you to your shorts, beat you with shoes, make you a garland of shoes, blacken your face and tour you on a donkey...

  9. Yes a Mosque houses the Qur'an. Muslims do not consider the Qur'an to be their Guru or Prophet but just a book with divine teachings. So most if not all Muslim households will also house Qur'ans.

    On the other hand...

Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji Maharaj is our Guru hazar nazar...

Unlike our Muslim brothers, we do not consider Maharaj to be a book.

  10. Be rude and angry? Wow! I am sorry but part of the reason Sikhs get picked on is this. That is why at times we get hated because people don't understand us. Rude and angry, just brings hate. Maybe she is nice to everyone and always smiling because she wants to portray sikhs in a good light?

I know for a fact when I wear my dastar in the mornings, I remind myself to be the best person I can be. I make an extra effort to hold doors for others, help the elderly, be polite to all and etc. because thats not me I am representing in my dastar, its my guru, His Sikhi. I am sorry I just don't see my Guru being rude and angry to others.

As for the ring matter, it is best to explain nicely your not interested and if they still question than take a minute to explain why as a Sikh you don't do that. I don't say explain it first because the other person might not be interested in learning about Sikh and your explanation will just sound like lecture. The ring itself is helpful because it might deter people from even asking at all or looking at you in that way. It doesn't work on all, I know. But maybe on a few? IDK Sangat knows better than me and Waheguru Ji knows best

Love the second paragraph. So true so relevant. We should always have this thought at the forefront before any actions

  11. Total bullsh*t.

How to stay away from anything 'bad': naam simran.

IT IS REAL MAN, curses, black magic, white magic... POWERS! its all real!! Have you heard of the ILLUMINATI???????

What?! How does the illuminati relate to this question in any way?

  12. Curious myself, i would like to know why you chose Islam or what you found attractive about Islam?

And you've said 'Sikhism is not the faith for me'. Could i ask, why not? What was it that confused you and inturn caused you to dismiss Sikhi as a path for you?

These questions may seem odd and if they cause anyone offence, i apologise in advance. But the reason i ask these question is because: a) im curious lol and b) i would hate for anyone to dismiss Sikhi based on 'answers' they've received from the 'wrong' people or less knowledgable people, resulting in a false or foggy reflection of Sikhi.

So your answers will not only give the sangat a chance to share their views and discuss points but it will also widen our and your knowledge on Sikhi which you yourself have admitted, it is next to none.

Pul chuk maaf ji (For any mistakes/offences, please forgive me).

  14. Waheguru...

Veerji take it easy. The panj pyare have ample experience of all this. Take your time and explain, get it all off your chest.

2ndly, hope you do lots and lots of naam simran. The medicine that works!
