  1. VAHEGURU JI KA KHALSA VAHEGURU JI KI FATEH!! First of all there were two seperate programs on the day-Biras Kirtan Darbar (5-10pm) and a Rehansbhai Kirtan in memory of Sant Baba Harbans Singh Ji Damelli Wale(10pm til late). The Gurdwara had informed the organisers that they wanted to do a rehansbhai on the same day and were willing to compromise with the Singhs. So the organisers decided that both Guru Granth Sahib Ji Maharaj and Dasam Granth Maharaj will have prakash done and then the Dasam Granth Saroop will be put to Sachkhand after the Biras program finished. The rehansbhai had nothing to do with the organisers! For those who came to the start, a hukamnama was taken first from Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji (Dhanasari Mahalla 5: Ja Ko Har Rang Lago Is Jug Mein) and then Sri Dasam Granth Ji (Shastar Naam Malaa). After that kirtan, katha had commenced. Once the Biras Kirtan Darbar finished, Singhs got Hukam from Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji to begin the Rehansbhai Kirtan and that Sri Dasam Granth be taken to Sachkhand. Both Saroops were given the equal amount of pyar and satkaar, theres no doubt about that. For those idiots who have made ridiculous accusations need to have been there for the whole program before passing judgement. For the Chardikalla Singhs, who were dressed in Bana, blue Dhumalleh, shastardhari were simply representing the Akaal Roop that Dhan Guru Gobind Singh Ji gave the Khalsa. There was no-one showing off, just because Singhs were showing one another their Shastar doesn't mean they were trying to be superior. They had the same respect for Maharaj and their Bana (Khalsa Roop). The Program was a HUGE success and all jatheh represented, to show that there was no differences between us Sikhs. For the Singhs who were "chatting in the langar hall", they were eating langar and many were meeting one another with pyar because many chardikalla Gursikhs came from London and Glasgow. For those who wanted to make a fuss about it, why didn't they say something there and then??? People are deliberately trying to put others seva down and split the panth up, which is not what the Guru has taught us. Rather we should be in Ekta and have pyar for Baani and Baana! As GurSikhs say: Singh Singh te vaar na kareh! Personally i believe that the attack is on the stereotype that it was a "Nihang Bash", as people against the program have been calling it. Also perhaps the maryada for the program followed was Buddha Dal/Tarna Dal (Prakash; Aarti Aarta; Ardas; Jakareh). There will be more of these programs, but with the blessings of Dhan Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaj, everything went well and i pray that all Gursikhs will put their differences aside and stop doing nindiya of one another and for the seva that is done.
  2. Yes 'Kookar' means dog in terms of Gurbaani, but also the word 'swaan' is used, which refers to a dog too. Commonly used by Guru Arjun Dev Ji! Hope that helps!
  3. Yeh from what i know of, i think that they do the full Anand Sahib within Rehras and before the Ardas! Hmmm...interesting!
  4. But there is no actual evidence or rehatnama, which states that we should read 6 pauris of the Anand Sahib. In America, the white sikhs actually recite the whole of the Anand Sahib, as they were directed by Harbhajan Singh Yogi to do so...wel that's what i've been told. I just think Sikhs have shortened the baani either because of time or that they can't be bothered to do the full version.
  5. I was listening to the Chardikalla Jatha's kirtan program and they came out with this really good point about Anand Sahib...why do we read 1-5 pauris and then jump to the 40th pauri? I don't see a short version of the Anand Sahib within Guru Granth Sahib Ji, does that mean we should actually read the full baani within Rehras Sahib? What are your views on this topic?
  6. Hey guys thanx for all the replies, i didn't know every1 had so much to share... i just remembered one fing...there was this girl that used to go 2 skool wid me n she used to call herself a Hindu..one day she called me ova n sed she had 2 tel me summit. She revealed she really was a Nirankari and they have 2 tel ppl there Hindus...they worship dat guy, his mom and daughter!! However i fink dat they bribe the sangat wid materialistic fings cuz she went 2 india n sed that the baba ji gave everyone gold rings... where did they get the money froim i wonder????
  7. Has anyone watched this Singh on Aastha Channel 828 on Sky at bout 8:20pm? His name is summit like Tarlochan Das Ji. He wears all white and a tilak on his forehead. I asked my marsi n she sed he's probably a Nirankari. I don't fink he is cuz he refers to Guru Granth Sahib Ji as Guru. Maybe he's a radhaswami or namdhari...i dunno u guys watch it and see wot u fink. The things i've noticed is that he makes reference to Gurbaani and his vichaar s are really interesting and very Gurmat orientated. He doesn't say fateh 2 d sangat, instead says 'Nanak Naam Chardi Kalla...' has ne1 watched it yet? O yeh the place where it comes from is called summit like Sachkhand Nanak Dham
  8. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh Happy Gurpurab to everyone at Sikh Sangat!!!
  9. Yeh i'm 100% sure that there is a saroop at Ik Nivas, but a couple of years ago sedgley st Gurdwara took Guru Ji out of there cuz they had statues of Hindu gods surrounding Guru Ji and hindu worship was done towards guru ji!! u guys talk about Ik Niwas, you should c the other Gurdwara on the same street: 'Guru ravidass Temple'. Its all gud and they do consider Guru Ji as their Guru but also Bhagat Ravidass as Guru hence the name of the Gurdwrara, but when they do aarti its like watching aarti in a form of Hindu worship...they blow conch shells, ring bells, wave a thali around Guru Ji which is basically set on fire!! And they do 3 jaikare: one of them is Bole So Nihal: Guru Ravidass Maharaj Ki Jai?
  10. Fateh Ji. There are 2 baani's i've come across about guidance in one's education, but only can remember 1. It's Asa mehalla 1 chaupde: 'Vidiya Vichaari tah purupkari'... you'll have to get the rest from sikhi2themax or hopefully sum1 posts the shabad...Hope this helps.
  11. There's a sakhi about Guru Nanak Dev Ji going 2 the mandir and the hindus asked guru Ji 2 carry out the Aarti. Guru Ji sed that all this rituals that Hindus do are unnecessary and that God's nature itself is doing Aarti...hence why in the beginning of Aarti and it comes in Kirtan Sohila where Guru Ji comments on this. (Raag Dhanasari Mehala: Gagan meh taal rav...) Can some one find this and the translations plz for those who don't no bout wot Guru Ji sez bout Aarti plz!!

  14. i still can't find anyone to help me tie my dastar - i'm sure shocked! The biggest teacher for me has been the internet... sad, just sad... Don't worry man, its all gud...maharaj will have kirpa on u one day and you'll cum with this massive dumalla!!! I was quite fortunate cuz i've been shown how to wear a dastar but i forgot and just worked it out myself... one tip on how i kinda learned how to tie my dumalla was examing pics on the net and looking at how each turn is made from the laar...it's turned out perfectly fine. i've bin in contact with some Gore Sikhs and they are going to teach the sangat on how to tie different styles so u can pic n choose!! It's coming very soon on Sikhnet.com Hope this helps!! Fateh
