  1. To any of these so backward Sikh followers:

    2. Most Sikh interfaith couples who bring up their children have their children in confusion when it comes to religion. I probably bet that 90% of Sikh interfaith couples have no urge to follow teachings of the GGS. Their kids too in most cases don't follow Sikhi (read gurbani, follow rehit), hence why do the anand kaaraj in the first place. When do people ever see Sikh interfaith couples bringing up their children as Gursikhs? Never because they never showed interest. Most Sikh males who marry in a Sikh interfaith marriage are mona hence they showed no interest at all not even marrying within their own religion.

    3. Most Sikh interfaith couples do the anand kaaraj ceremony and then do the other partner's religious ceremony also? You makes vows with your lifetime partner to follow the GGS and the GGS only and then do another religion marriage vows? To be a Sikh you follow the GGS ONLY no question. I have no problem with a mona Sikhs doing the anand kaaraj because they at least know to marry a Sikh and also who knows if they become Gursikhs later on in life (whether from parchar or deciding to become devoted Gursikhs over the time). There are examples of that but for Sikh interfaith marriage partners when do you see them together taking amrit? NEVER. They say they follow two religions at a time. There is no Muslim-Sikh or Christian-Sikh.....

For #2, there is no guarantee that two Sikhs will make their children Sikhs, because of the rise of Atheism. You can see that in the large number of extreme conservative Christian and extreme conservative Muslims who leave their faith, and both of their parents were the same religion. And there is a chance that people born into non-sikh families can become Sikh.

#3 I personally know of an interfaith couple that the non-Sikh took Amrit. And both lived lives of Gursikhi better than some monas.

  2. Rehit is only for sikhs who born in punjab??!

How about the sikh guys girls born in america Canada??

They forgot about rehit that's why they converting into muslim??? Hell I heard one of the gurdwara close to my home not going to name it the guy out there committee member his daughter married Mexican I think he forgot to told her about rehit

One of the 52 hukam guru gobind Singh ji said sikh nu kanya daini are we really following what our guru ji said only 10 out of 1 who actually do belive in being true guru da sikh rest of them fake sikhs everyone have diffrent excuse until they don't follow what guru ji said nope you not sikh we can always say hey I'm going to be soon

There are Mexican Sikhs, please don't change it into an interracial issue and stay to the interfaith issue.
  3. http://secretweddingblog.com/how-to-have-an-interfaith-sikh-wedding-outside-of-the-gurdwara/

UK Sikhs got a hippie Interfaith Sikh priest doing anand kaaraj with GGS outside of gurdwara for a long time with his odd views. Another reason why I think less copies GGS should be available.

He's only making Guru Sahib disappointed. Do I have anything against inter-faith marriage? No, not really, but when someone wants to make Guru Sahib rules unimportant, I just can't stand it! If this couple would like an interfaith marriage do it somewhere outside Guru Sahib darbar.
  4. I said this SSD:

Its in English and its clear. Re-read it a couple of times if you're having difficuty understanding it.

I've got to presume you had trouble reading and understanding the English language words else why on earth would someone describe me as a "bigot" and "racist" for suggesting Sikhs protect the vulnerable members of their community and, at the same time reclaim their community (neighbourhoods) from dealers, pimps, addicts and gangbangers ?

Please my friend, do not throw around words like 'bigot' and 'racist' at will. They are not nice accusations and its certainly not nice for the one on the receiving end. Especially when you consider how the 'scum' dealers and addcits in Southall this thread is alluding to, are our own Punjabis. If you're suggesting its possible to be bigoted and racist against yourself then may I politely suggest you invest in a dictionary and look up the words ?

I am sorry, I misread it when you said "our community" can I be forgiven.for what I said. (Misunderstanding)
  5. Yes and thats exactly what I'm calling for, on both counts:

    • Just like them, we need to look after OUR OWN community, i.e our bajurgs getting robbed and beaten and our girls openly targetted.
    • Whilst the Jews in their north and north east London neighbourhoods are a tiny minority we Sikhs in our neighbourhoods are the majority so the whole town is OUR community.
"Sikhs shall only die for their own religion?" NOT said by Hind Di Chadar. "There is only Sikhs and everyone else is an infidel," NEVER said by any Sikh Guru? According to Judaism and Christianity, the Isrealites are God's chosen people, Sikhi has no such ideology. We pray for Sarbat Da Bhalla. If you want to be a racist, join Judaism, there you can be a racist bigot all you want.
  6. usually as a kid I would ask them what prayer Jesus taught them in his lifetime and they will always say the lord's prayer , next I say OK so what were his exact words ? OUR Father who art in Heaven' OK but why did he pray to God if you say Christians should pray 'through' Jesus, surely then he would have started with 'MY Father ... and he would have said forgive THEM their trepasses rather than OUR trespasses ... Truth is Jesus never once in his life asked people to take his name to pray to ...I think you need to think about what he actually did and said before dying before worrying about me I understand who He was Praying to maybe you should too.... usually didn't get a comeback after that , too busy thinking I guess.

Muslims same 'you don't believe in the one true God! ....really brother who do you think I pray to if I pray to the formless timeless One who preceding everything?' Err Ok But you don't believe in the prophet 'I believe in the One who created everyone and thing that is enough for me to know, have a good nimaz brother'

I'm referring to the evangelicals on that website, not you.
  7. what is a sport patka? one of those NIKE do-rags or actually a smaller dastar material piece? do you tie your jooda at the back as well so you can fit it on? Anyway if you are doing a sport you will sweat so it is mot much of a difference if you wear a sport patka or a smaller dastar ...why not stick to rehitvan appearence?

I support the actual smaller Patka, not the Nike headgear. Also my joora isn't changed for certain events. So I would still recommend the smaller Patka because the full Dastar would create more sweat on the Keshas, (personal experience). Also if someone is swimming, I'd recommend the smaller Patka for them also.
  8. Waheguru ji ka Khalsa, Waheguru ji ki FAteh,

NO!!! this is legitimising the very bad til that is occuring in India and elsewhere where our youth are buying off the shelf designer name do-rags and claiming these as legimate dastars ... I was in a plane to India five weeks back and I'm not kidding you I saw only two Dastars out of a contingent of men numbering at least thirty ion the plane the rest were wearing these patkey with baseball caps jammed on top . I was the only dastar wearing female on the plane and I was getting the evil eye from these jokers. I am not kidding it wasn't kids of under 16 but grown men of thirty, forty and older

There is a place for patkey and that is on toddlers to age 10 MAX after that age there is no reason to wear , I used to wear full dastar to school for physical education classes too, patkey were created for MUMs to tie on real kids incapable of doing their own dastars, not teens or grown men. If you are amritdhari the patka cannot be seen to satisfy rehitnama of Guru Gobind Singh ji concerning dastars.

I personally do believe in sport parkas, to prevent sweat when doing intense physical activities, just my view on it.
  9. Brahmanvaad fairy tales. Train with the shastar you carry it is not a just a symbol. As for what happens if your kakkar fall on the ground ... Is that even a serious comment ? Say for example you ever need to use your kirpan and you get disarmed your kirpan ends up on the ground.. It's a very common combat scenario..what do you do ? Start crying because your hurt one of your kakkars is on the ground...

Also you have to periodically remove shastaars from their sheaths for cleaning and maintenance purposes.

If you don't care how Kakkars are respected, throw your Kakkars somewhere, you most likely won't because you know what is right and what is wrong.
  10. I dislike this things that we do: the Bhatts and Bhagats were 'Sikhs'(definition of Sikh: student/disciple) of the highest state because they were one with Akal Purakh , we should say we recognise Divinity in each person no matter where their origin is (show example of Bhagat bani i.e. Gurbani) and everyone has the chance to reach Akal Purakh if the advice Of Jagat Guru, Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji to heart. Jadd Guru Arjan Dev Ji neh Bhagat Bani darj kita see he never recognise as seperate from adi granth he did mathe tek to all the bani we cannot seperate it in our minds either.

By literal definition they would be Sikhs in the same way Mian Mir was a Sikh, or Pir Bhudhu Shah. Both were students of the Guru, but retained their religious identities, (Sufi) anyone can meet Vaheguru, but Sikhi is the simplest way. I agree that we shouldn't use the term "Bhagat Bani" because in reality there is only one Bani, "Sach Bani"
  11. Jesus is the messiah of Judaism but unfortunately those jewish scholars/rabbis of his time failed to recognise him as fufilling the ages old prophecy and thus are still waiting on their 'messiah' ... if you look at his life he was constantly trying to bring the jews to the path of Yahweh, I mean the Jews had obstructed the technology of nam jap by hiding the correct pronounciation as it was 'too holy' to be uttered and he was reminding them of that and how to conduct themselves in a compassionate way but they didn't like that and handed him to the Roman governor for punishment- death.

The new testament is incomplete it omits the books of mary magdalene and the essenic scrolls which agree with reincarnation, compassion of diet i.e. vegetarianism it keeps the 'approved' list of books so Christianity is incomplete on many levels.

well, we have to at least acknowledge that even if Jesus was a "messiah" than it would all mean nothing because he didn't write the Bible. In fact, Sikhi is the only religion,(not cult), to have it's "scripture" (Guru Sahib) written by the Guru themselves. And the only religion which has religious writings only non-members of the faith.
  12. Alright...I apologize for dissing you. That was my bad. But i still disagree with you about not training with your shaster. A person should have a close relationship with their Shastar. If you have never learned how to handle it, how can a close relationship be developed?

We could debate this for a while, but I'll end by saying, "If the Kirpan falls during your training, just how much will it hurt your soul, that a Kakkar is on the floor?" I have personally experienced what it's like for me when one of my Kakkars falls or something, (by accident usually), and it hurts a lot. (DON'T TRY) this is why I personally would recommend other Shastars than your Kakkar. Train with a 3ft Kirpan if you have to, just don't train with the one you plan on wearing all the time, unless it gets bloods. Just my sentiment, you'll know what's right and what's wrong for you.
