  1. How old are you? Why can't you practice it? What is stopping you? Why are you tired of life? Where do you live? Please contact the Sikh Help Line - -http://www.sikhhelpline.com/
  2. I wrote about this before, scroll up. The Shiv Sena of Bal Thackrey is not the same as the Shiv Sena of Punjab which burnt a turban recently. Bal Thackreys Shiv Sena is named after Chhatrapati Shivaji who was the founder of the first Mahrata Empire - Abit like thier version of Maharaja Ranjit Singh, however where we due to our defective genetics have forgotten Maharaja Ranjit Singh, they have not forgotten their King. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shivaji Actually Maharashtrians who know the history of India and especially the Khalsa, respect the Sikhs alot, they particularily like or you can say envy Kalgidhar Mahabali Siri SatGuru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaaj. Shaheed Sant Jarnail Singh Binderanwale, had he been alive now, would most likely been the most of one of the most powerful and influential men in India, not only Punjab. I read somewhere that Bal Thackrey said who is this Jarnail Singh, he is nothing outside of Punjab. Couple of days later Sant Ji then went to his house in Mumbai. Sant Ji was fearless and the Indian Government don't like fearless men, these types of men are the most dangerous, as they are not attached to anything which can weaken them. Don't forget, that Shaheed Sant Jarnail Singh Ji got his power from Gurbani and SatGuru Ji. We too can be great, we need to stop all this chicken fighting and UNITE as brothers under SatGurus banner. (great speech eh, however it will fall on deaf ears of those too comfortable western sikhs who like things as they are...)
  3. Alot of experiments have been carried out which measure brain activity, infact they have been happening since the early 1900's, one by a French Scientists, who carried out an experiment on a Yogi in the north of India, he wanted to record the activity of the brain whilst the Yogi was in Samadhi. In recent times alot more research has been done into brain activity. I think I saw a programme on Discovery where they were monitoring the activity of the brain when it sleeps, to find out if the brain goes to sleep. However Amrit Vela and brainwave activity is something as far as I know has not been done in recent years, especially with all the advancements in science we have now. I actually wouldn't mind sponsoring such a study as it would be interesting to see what happens. As far as I am aware, the reasons are quite simple. A scientific reason is merely a proven reason and we have examples of this infront of us. If you want to do an test on yourself, do the following. 1. Wake up at Amrit Vela for 1 week, meaning every day, have your bath and sit down and meditate. 2. Then do the same but meditate during the afternoon. 3. Then do it again in the evening. I would say, do it for at least 2 weeks, as the first couple of days are just testing the water and yourself and the mind needs time to adjust. Then please tell us the results. I find meditating at Amrit vela to be better for me. However its been a long time since I have done it. :o( There are other reasons for this too. Its when the majority of brain activity around your is the most quitest. On a subconsious level we are very active, some acient shamans believe that we are in constant contact with each other without our knowledge. So in a country like India, where 90% of the population sleeps, you have very little brain activity to disturb you on a subconsious level. Also, what I don't get is that Buddhist Monks are up for part taking in Scientific experiments, like the most recent ones (link given below). However I am always hearing this person is a BrahmGyani, this person is a Sant, etc. Why don't they take part in these experiments. What have they got to loose??? Now please don't say, its against marayada of the 12th century of the mountain people... Think about it, I would pay from my own pocket to have a study conducted on a proper Brahmgyani. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-12661646
  4. Who is Kavi Santokh Singh? Do you know anything about his background, how he did his research, etc? I read that during his research, he found a bunch of books/papers at his doorstep which contained material of the gurus lives.
  5. you say why? come on man, do you really need an answer to that? Its business, all Business. Business, Business, BUSINESS. They couldn't care less what happened there and who he indirectly got killed.
  6. I this from first hand experience. They have build an entire psychological response mechanism to block off any attempts which would expose them. Its a business for them, now yogi bhajan is dead. sorry, he is dead but according to them, he is still with them in his "subtle" body (looks like we need to call baba vadbagh singh to exorcise a ghost) Yoga is a HUGE business, especially Kundalini Yoga. Yogi bhajan couldn't tap into the panjabi sikh market during his lifetime. Seeing the success of Baba Ramdev, the 3HO think they can emulate them. Don't get me wrong, Yoga is not bad, I am not against it at all. Please do it as much as you want. However using and twisting Gurbani/SatGurus life stories to justify not just Yoga, Kundalini Yoga, now that I do not endorse. I have no problems with people eating meat or not, thats their personal wish, who am I do judge them?
  7. No, Brahmins are the Best. Jatts are Shudras, the 4th labour class varan No, they are not the same as the Jaats of rajisthan No, they were not born from Shiv Ji's Jathan (hair) Yes, they were Kisans. Had Banda Singh Bahadur not carried out the land reforms, punjab today would be like bihar. something even better is being a Khalsa, however taking pride in being Khalsa is also counterproductive please please please correct me if I am wrong.
  8. Try telling that to Guruka Singh and Gurumustuk SIngh who make these videos, they will say you are trapped in right and wrong, etc etc..
  9. i would start with history of the sikhs by kushwant singh and Max Arthur Macauliffe's books. my favourite books you need to watch out of personal agendas that authors hold, i.e. hindu orientated, british sponsored, etc.. in the end, you have to read both sides and make up your own educated opinion... don't believe anyone, do your own research..go for the old books...
  10. I have heard something similar, that the Sikhs bought their saftey from Bal.
  11. Good News. It would be interesting to see that saroop of SatGuru Ji with 1565 angs.
  12. Thats cool Brother. From what I understand is Parkash means giving light, like we say the Suns parkash, or the suns light/rays. When Siri SatGuru Granth Sahib Ji Parkash happens, this means a. SatGuru is awake in a living metaphorical sense and b. The Light of Knowledge is ready. Of course SatGuru Ji is always "awake", this ceremony is done out of respect. Sukhasan, well we all know this. Sukh = peace, comfort, sleep aswell and asan is position. When SatGuru Ji takes sukhasan, this means they are sleeping. Now the question that comes to my stupid uneducated unscholarly low of the lowest mind is, How can Dasam Granth be Parkashed and Sukhasan? I know about the separate maryada at hazoor sahib, how authentic it is I don't know, it depend on how honest they have been (as with any "samparday or tradition"). If I am wrong, please correct me, I am not as good with words as some people are here.
  13. agar mai correct, ta meri post nu like karde veera...lol
  14. Sikh Leaders in Mumbai did ask for his help and he did offer it by ordering to make sure that no Sikh is harmed under his watch. So Kudos to him for doing this. Actually Maharashtrians who know the history of India and especially the Sikhs, respect the Sikhs alot, they particularily like or you can say envy Kalgidhar Siri SatGuru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaaj. FYI, The Shiv Sena he created is in honour of Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, who created the Maratha Empire (very good person) and not Shiv Ji the God of death. The Shiv Sena in Punjab which burnt a saffron coloured turban recently are not part of his organisation, this new group claims to be the army of Shiv Ji. The Sikh vote bank in Mumbai is nothing really, nothing to go out of your way to gain their votes and back in 84, well thats 28 years ago when the Sikh population wasn't as much as it is today, today there may be alot more than back then.
  15. This is quite an interesting taliban style comment from you brother. Nobody even mentioned stopping parkash at Hazoor Sahib, so I don't know whats crawled into your under garments for you to say this. Can I ask you and the sangat, what does Parkash and Sukhasan actually mean? The words and also the act of it and why it is done.
  16. I've got no problem with Dasam Granth, however I am not sure if we should parkash it next to Siri SatGuru Granth Sahib Ji, as didn't SatGuru Gobind Singh Ji give Guru Gaddi to Aad Granth, thus transforming a mere book into a SatGuru forever? apart from that, got no problems with it.
  17. Gurdwara Gyan Godhri, in Hari-dwar, where SatGuru Nanak Dev Ji watered his fields. This gurdwara was destroyed and in its place are shops. The hindu organisations refuse to have a gurdwara there, they however did tell the sikhs that they can build it elsewhere. But there, NO WAY. Gurcharan Singh Babber and Baljit singh daddu sahib waley are quite vocal about it. Actually Gurcharan Singh Babber has been very vocal out of nearly all sikh leaders. It is interesting that the Akaal Thakat Jathedhar is silent on this issue. gurdwara majnu ka tila was destroyed, however it was rebuilt as it was in delhi In this video, some local people knew about it
  18. Miri Piri Academy is very good. It was created by Yogi bhajan initially for the 3ho sikhs, but like you said it accepts kids from all backgrounds. however 3ho's version of sikhi comes from the teachings of yogi bhajan. check it out. http://www.11-11-11yoga.com/index.html I would however send my kids to baru sahib.
  19. forgive and forget, we need to stop with this extremist islamic <Edited> taliban attitude that some sikhs have adopted. he is only human and if he has asked for forgiveness from SatGuru Ji, then the matter is closed. I am sure the Akaal Thakat Jathedhar will see sense.
  20. Ghandis mug also graces Indian stamps too. What does that say? These are token gestures, done to make you feel you are not discriminated against. Like a company in the UK employing a few token coloured people to project themselves as a modern company with a "diverse & multi-cultural" workforce, however we all know that these people will never make the CEO of the company. Then you can say what is Manmohan Singh, well by his own admission he is a pawn.He is very close to Sonia Ghandi, they were expecting the Extremist Hindu organisations to bring up Sonia Ghandi's "white" background in a move to oust her, however this was foreseen and manmohan singh was presented as a CLEAN candidate, ontop of that a SIKH and of course the Hindus couldn't say that the Sikhs are not true Indians, although we all know they were burning inside. This is politics. Nearly 100,000 Sikhs killed throughout India, We are told by Hindu Religious Leaders on how to practise our own faith and if we don't, then we are terrorists, if we do havans, take part in jagratey then we are fellow indians, however if we don't, then we are terrorists. master tara singh and baldev singh should be ashamed of themselves, however I believe even they were pawns of nehru/ghandi who were working with the british to break once and for all this powerful nation of people who were probably at the time the only threat to the british. Had the Akalis given Shaheed Sant Jarnail Singh full support, then things would be different. Had all Sikh jathebandis supported him, then things would be different. Problems started when you don't learn from your mistakes and history is proof of this. We should be more worldly wise now, however we are not. There are still people, Sikhs infact who with all their hearts believe the government account and believe SSJS was a congress agent and of course there are those that don't believe them. In order to galvanise people under one banner, there must be a projection of unity, which there isn't. The Panth at the top (Akaal Thakat) was totally hijacked in 1984 and it will be a long time before it is taken back.
  21. by calling them miri-piri students, the OP meant that some of the 3ho members have actually studied at miri-piri.
