Common trend in west is to send gifts to friends and family on Christmas and it kinda hurt me when I see our people following this trend and sending sweets/wines/other gifts to their gorey as well as desi friends because for is it is SHAHEEDI WEEK. I was thinking and thinking if I should do the same then I thought isn't shaheedi what we are proud of? 4 sahibzadey and 5 pyare attained shaheedian and there are JOD MELEY where all they do is langar langar and lots of langar all across the Punjab and Sarhind. So seems like we are celebrating. My question which is pretty stupid but I am not sure is can we just like christmas celebrate shaheedian by distributing sweets/chocolates? As long as we remember the sacrifices and pay respect by atleast keeping a sabat soorat is it ok to do that?

Because Guru Sahib knew that there will be people like you who will act smart and try to say something what you are saying therefore Guru Sahib wrote it very clearly that just give up those smartnesses and serve the Lord's lovers. I know your point is "do not bow anyone except Guru Grant Sahib Ji" which is true but it does not litrelly mean anyone. It means do not bow anyone like you bow to GURU SAHIB. We usually give respect to our elders by touching their feet in our tradition which is also called pairreen hath lana. This is not same as bowing to Guru Sahib. Bowing to sant jans is what Gurubani orders so do not try slandering these mahapurashs because you will end up falling at their feet.

I think there is no discussion needed on what Guru Sahib's Hukam is to us. Basic Principle of SIKHI is to keep hair. JAB LAG KHALSA RAHE NEARA TAB LAG TEJ DIO MAIN SARA identity of khalsa is unique and this uniqueness is with SABAT SOORAT. Why our shaheeds did so many sacrifices and did not accept to get their hair cut and chose to give shaheedi instead. yea i was amazed at the movie and that's exactly what I was thinking:- this is just a movie and i was imagining the real fights done by our sikh warriors/shaheeds.

Is it a right decision to not get married by someone who understands that his/her life will be spent working day and night just to take care of his family, buy house, paying mortgages and all that and very very less time to concentrate on what the actual purpose of this life. Someone who has spent his/her 25 years forced following sansari rituals like gaining education, looking for work, obeying parents etc and then coming to a stage realizing that this will continue forever and will get worse after he/she get married. That is more sansari stuff, more bonds, more moh, more of everything worse they been through. PLUS WITH A SURE CONFIDENCE THAT IT WILL BE A CHEATING IF THEY GET MARRIED TO SOMEONE. And then planning for living a life of true student of guru.

i ddnt watch all these. i saw thailand wala once for a little time and they r so clever that they represent them self in a way and give simple logic to people that ordinary people tends to agree with these dushts. I recently watched the movie called Immortals and this question came to my mind.

I want to know if Guru Sahibaans either in Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji or Sri Dasam Granth Sahib ji mentioned about Greek gods? Just like Guru Sahib tells us about all many hindu gods, devi devte like Brahama, Vishnu, Shiv and others. how do gods get different names according to different countries they belong to :s? I am so confused about the languages spoken in heaven by gods of different regions of world. are they same gods and other regions like Greek and religions like Christianity share same gods with different names. Like shiv, vishnu and brahama are the same gods of the world and have different names around the world?
