    Need Help

I'm not sure but it has been argued many times that your sexuality is not your choice. Kind of genetic or something. If that is true then what can he do anyways...he doesn't want to marry a girl and telling your parents you are sexually attracted to men ... that would give me a whoopin' for sure! Good luck in the future... I honestly don't know how I would handle that. :|
  2. Yeaah Dhunda is here and he did Katha yesterday. I could find the recording if any of you want it :biggrin2:
  3. Haha I live in Edmonton, Canada...sangat here is 50/50 against and with Dhunda.
  4. Gurpreet14, this is what sikhs call Jhatka meat. It happens often ... why? I have no idea.
  5. These practices can stop. As for the Sikh Image, I'm fine with my image and i'm not obsessed but concerned that Sikhs are going out and representing themselves with false values. This is the 21st Century, this stuff is not acceptable and plain out dumb.. a few quotes out of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji should shut them up?
  6. When you watch this video, do you think this is what Sikhs should be known for? These people are ruining the Sikh image and I know this has been disputed many times and I don't know if the Sikh community will EVER be on the same page. But in my opinion this is just stupid. These people are just looking for an excuse to eat meat...! Even if I wasn't a Sikh, I would never EVER want to see this happening. Taking the life of an innocent animal who has done nothing to harm you just so you can eat some meat? I know this is not accepted in Sikhism. Sikhism is a different religion, and the video below shows the exact opposite. I'm so happy I didn't see this when I went to Sri Hazur Sahib. Nihaangs are not Singhs, this practice is horrible and not part of our values! By the way, this video is the first result on YouTube when you search " sri hazur sahib" . Big Impact. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- A fellow Gursikh responded to this video, worth watching : Response 1: RESPONSE 2:
  7. What's your favourite shabad? I have two. Kar Kirpa Vaso: and Kar Kirpa Tere Gun Gavaan: Great shabads!
  8. Many people have posted topics on shabad notes. You the search bar at the top to search the forum, you will find similar topics.
  9. Alright. Thanks for clearing that up for me. :blush2:
  10. We all know there are 5 Bhagats whose works are in the Guru Granth Sahib, my question is: Say there was a full amritdhari man, nearly flawless, very poetic and has been graced by God with a deep knowledge of life. In todays world, there would be no way he could become the 6th Bhagat and write his findings and knowledge in the Guru Granth Sahib? If it happened, would the Sikh Society except it?
  11. Wow that happened to me when I was in grade 5 doing naam simran.... I saw beautiful bright white light and experienced brahg. Not anymore though :stupidme:
  12. tried to the best of my understanding :blink2:
  13. Hey can you clarify your quote in English? Sorry, Im 15 my punjabi reading isn't that great right now, what is the meaning of the quote? Sree Dasam Granth Dee Bani Da Path They...?
  14. Hey everyone, I'm pretty bored and I figured I could start a signature thread. Basically, like my signature, that picture with the lion and gursikh10, I can make you your own customized one. Just copy and paste this form and ill post your finished signature: Text on signature: Pictures of anything: Name: Specific colors: Other: :biggrin2:
  15. People say waheguru very loud, very fast... and then there's this. Naam simran isn't about any of that..
  16. Your time comes when your time comes. If you have been a good Sikh in your life and good human being, you shouldn't be afraid.

    Kaam.

Well it kind of depends on your age. But Kaam is as lethal as a drug, and can take over your life. Just listen to shabads or read gurbani. God will help you.
  18. Obviously it is more beneficial to do the 5 bani. A common misconception is just by reciting Gurbani you are benefiting. Listen to every word, and most importantly, whether you listen or do, apply what you listen to in your life. That's what it's all about!
  19. Wow! I am going to India in March also! I am going for a wedding put I BADLY want to go back to Amritsar, and pray in one of the most holiest places in the world. Also, Shri Hazur Sahib is a great place to visit. As for a sikh family, I would not worry too much and stick with Johnny101's response. Good luck in your travels and may you find God within yourself.
  20. What do you say or ask for in the Ardaas? Are your wishes fulfilled? For example, if you asked for a stronger connection with your inner self and to concentrate more while praying, did you get it? What things are factors in this? "Jo Mangey Thakur Apne Te" Do some things be fulfilled later than others? I believe that your are supposed to ask for things that will make your human life successful so you don't have to take part in this cycle again. Some of may laugh.... but once I asked for perfect eyesight again, since I have glasses and I hate them. I value them now and I want a second chance. This is irrelevant and a want, not a need. But I sure would like for it to happen. :biggrin2: So what experiences do you have? -Sorry If I sounded stupid...just want to learn from other experiences. :blush2:
