  1. Waheguru is everything. We must remember our purpose of being here. It is to merge with Waheguru. This is done with Naam Simran, reading Gurbani, doing Kirtan and Seva etc... Then the 10th Gate will open and you shall be free from reincarnation. Gurbani is talking about Babur, but how about all the other people who do/did bad things such as: Hitler, Mussolini, Saddam Hussein, Ivan the terrible, Osama Bin Laden, etc.... How much terror did they bring? Waheguru let it happen also, therefore you can say whenever there is a war that does God care? Gurbani tells us that Waheguru is love and that he has started the process call the universe. In this process everything is happening, i.e. Birth, Living and Death. There are wars amongst animals and plants over territory or a mate. If we dwell on these worldly things then we miss our purpose of being here. In the shabad you mention, Guru Nanak Dev Ji is retelling history and explains that yes Waheguru watched over these terrible events, BUT you MUST always read the last lines to get the message because in the end of the shabad Guru Nanak Dev Ji is telling us just as he tells us in almost every shabad that: We must let go of our Ego whilst we are alive then Wheguru Ji's name can grow and blossom inside you.

    Missing Meditation!

You must receive the naam from panj pyare in order for your meditation to be truly accepted by Guru Ji. Keep it up and you will take the important step of taking Amrit.
  3. Dear sangat Has anyone had any difficulty attending a sporting event like a football match or a cricket match or any other sporting event as an amritdhari? Has anyone been refused entry because of their kirpan and which places are the worst? Thank you
  4. You probably need to find a wife. Then you can fulfil your desire for real, but only in moderation. You can also concentrate on your sikhi with your wife. Thereby fulfilling Gristhi jeevan.

    Never Fly Emirates

We Sikhs need our own airline. If every Sikh gave $1 I'm sure it would be possible.

    Yugas

In Sri Dasam Granth, Guru Gobind Singh Ji maharaj states in Sampooran Ramayan that Ram Chander (in Treta Yuga) ruled his kingdom for 10,010 years. Dasa Sahaansara Dasa Barakha Paramanaa ॥ Raaja Karaa Pura Aaudha Nidhaanaa ॥ Taba Lau Kaal Dasaa Neearaaeala ॥ Raghubara Siri Marita Daanka Bajaaeala ॥834॥ दस सहंस्र दस बरख प्रमाना ॥ राज करा पुर अउध निधाना ॥ तब लउ काल दसा नीअराई ॥ रघुबर सिरि म्रित डंक बजाई ॥८३४॥ Ram ruled in Avadphpuri for ten thousand and ten years, then according to time schedule, the death beat its drum.834.

    Questioning My Faith

Waheguru is the light. Guru Nanak Dev Ji was born with this light and then passed on the light to Guru Angad dev Ji and so on to Guru Gobind Singh Ji who passed on the light to the eternal shabad Guru, Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji. You need to understand the purpose of your being. You are given this life to earn a profit. This isn't about money but about karma. Do good karma and erase any deficit of bad karma so you have a profit of good karma. The way to do this is to do meditation of naam simran and read as much Gurbani as you can. Do not dwell on worldly things because it is meaningless. You can only take naam simran with you when your life ends. No one knows when their life will end so don't waste even a second, concentrate on the name of Waheguru.

    Questioning My Faith

A day is one rotation of the earth's axis. A year is the earth's one orbit of the sun. At the beginning of the universe there was no earth, no sun so it is false and impossible to say that the universe is 15 billion years old because there was no earth then so there was no year. Only the creator knows when he created this universe and the endless other universes.

I agree, but I find it hard to believe that Hindu government would pass such a bill.

    WHAT DO YOU EAT!?!?!

I can't stand the smell of dead carcasses as I walk around the supermarket. I try to hold my breath for as long as possible. Otherwise I will vomit. I don't know how people stand the smell. That alone should be enough to put anyone off.

For Once Someone Uses His Kirpan

Kirpan comes from the word kirpa. It is to bring kirpa to those who are being persecuted for their beliefs. A Sikh is one who has overcome Lust, Anger, Greed, Attachment and Ego (5 evils).

    Being Proud To Be Indian

I am proud to be a British Sikh. As a British Sikh I feel that I have more freedom to express my faith in Britain than in India. Also I have Panjabi heritage not Indian. My mother tongue is Panjabi not Hindi. My diet is mostly Panjabi food, so therefore I prefer to classify myself as a British Panjabi. Furthermore I feel an attachment to the whole of Panjab including West Panjab which is where Nankana Sahib and Lahore (previous centre of the Sikh Empire) both are.

Suraj Parkash Granth On Beheading Of Punj Pyare?

Just to note, if anyone is unsure as to whether Guru Ji can behead someone and then re-attach their head, then they should read the sakhi of Samman and Musan. There is a shabad in Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji call Funhey. In this sakhi Guru Arjan Dev Ji re-attached a head that was chopped off by someone else let alone Guru Ji himself. Also One should note the shabad: SATGUR MERA MAAR JIVALEY (MY TRUE GURU CAN TAKE AND RE-GIVE LIFE). Guru Ji is the same entity as Waheguru. So there should also be no doubt that Guru Ji beheaded the Punj piyare. If you google "eye witness to vaisakhi 1699" you will find a previous post on this forum which mentions that there was no tent and that Guru Ji beheaded the 5 piyare and medically reattached their heads.
  21. Video of Harmandir Sahib Hazoori Ragi Performing Kirtan in Front of Idols Surfaces OnlineBy: Sikh24 Editors ACCRA, GHANA (November 26, 2013)—A video has surfaced online showing Hazoori Ragi Bhai Sarbjeet Singh “Laddi” doing kirtan at a temple in front of Hindu idols. The temple also includes parkash of Guru Granth Sahib Ji—against Sikh traditions—and the idols are clearly visible. As per unconfirmed information received by Sikh24, the recording is from the Sindhi Temple located in Accra, Ghana. Sindhis are followers of the Hindu religion however they have respect for the Sikh religion, especially the teachings of Guru Nanak Dev Ji. They often do parkash of Guru Granth Sahib, however this practice goes against the teachings of the Sikh faith, which is against idols. In the the video that has surfaced online, Bhai Sarabjeet Singh is doing kirtan of “aarti” in which such practices are shunned. Bhai Sarabjeet Singh’s actions could possibly lead him in to trouble with the Akal Takhat Sahib and the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee which have in the past asked Ragi Jathas to not do seva at places where idols are placed.
  22. The greatest insult is that they read Gurbani incorrectly which gives the wrong meaning. If they read Gurbani correctly they would become Sikhs and fall in love with Guru Ji. Isa means Iswar in other words Waheguru NOT Jesus. Jesus called himself the light of the world, the son of God. This is ego and anyone who believes in and worships Jesus instead of God/Waheguru will fall into the pit of hell. Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji maharaj said that those who call themselves God shall fall into the pit of hell.

    Wake Up Call...

It is very cunning using Sikhi to spread christianity. Rainsabhai needs to be done at every church to spread the true Guru Granth Sahib Ji's message. This is why it is good to read scriptures of other faiths so you can spread the truth of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji. I have seen their website it contains some basic information on Sikhi. But calling Jesus Sat Guru Yeshu is strange and wrong. Also they try to use lines from Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji to justify christianity. If they did more research into Sikhi then they would beocme Sikhs. I feel that the problem is that we are too few in number. These organisations have large followings internationally and probably have very wealthy backers. Basically there are more christians. But I am not worried because I have full faith in Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji.
