  1. The beadbhi of Sri Guru Granth Sahib in Southall was first exposed by the Sikh Channel. Individuals showed a number of videos on YouTube which showed the condition of the so called biirdh saroops which were not biirdh. Subsequently, the Sikh media including the Sikh Channel failed to provide coverage. The perpetrators have gone unpunished and in fact rewarded with a saropa (how much does a saropa cost?). Is it any wonder that attacks on Sikh attacks are occurring? People against Sikhs will think if Sikhs can accept beadbhi to Sri Guru Granth Sahib then they will accept anything. Dr Gurnam Singh was able to respond to a post about the Sikh Channel in just over 1 hour yet the Sikh media has said nothing about this issue for several weeks. How many £5 direct debits to Sikh Channel are being handed to firms like DBS Law? I would say over 400 direct debits last year...
  2. When an animal is relentlessly pursued and cornered it can either submit or fight back. Animals are animals and choose to fight back and what's what appears to be the response of those behind the beadbhi and those supporting them. To run through what has happened - 1)The Guru Nanak Darbar Committee is the organisation (with a warehouse owner) behind the collection/ beadbhi of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji Saroops dating back many years (they were previously warned and they agreed not to do this in future). 2)Recently, the issue has been discovered to be re-occurring at a warehouse with the involvement of Guru Nanak Darbar Committee. Once caught out, the warehouse owner did not hesitate in naming his conspirators. 3)The Sangat went to Guru Nanak Darbar and found a collection of Saroops. Various Gurdwara personnel were clearly under the impression that the Saroops were biirdh, however after checking the Saroops agreed they could be repaired and were not biirdh. 4)The Afgan community stepped in to resolve the issue peacefully in order to avoid further conflict. 5)A meeting was held at Guru Nanak Darbar where a group of Sikhs & Sikh channel CEO agreed that a beadbhi had taken place, would not re-occur and an Akhand Path and Ardas at an agreed time would end the matter. 6)The Akhand Path and Ardas never took place. Throughout, the Guru Nanak Darbar committee have refused to make a statement or answer questions in public. The committee can continue to be silent and further damage inter-community respect or take responsible actions. The failure of Sikh elders to take responsible actions is not going to damage individual committee members as much as the Sangat of Guru Nanak Darbar. It's also becoming apparent that people within the gurdwara have a lot more to say. So, will the Guru Nanak Darbar committee respond? or will they allow the Sikh youth to decide what to do next because so called Sikh elders and media are unable to deal with this as adults?
  3. Mahakaal96, You have raised asked some interesting questions. A group of Singhs and the Sikh channel (who first covered the news live) provided evidence of beadbhi, can you do likewise to support your comments? If you raise the matter by starting a new post, I would certainly read it. This issue seems simple enough, has a beadbhi occurred? In light of the evidence (and numerous independant statements), yes. So, what's next? Despite efforts to resolve the matter particularly from Khalsa Diwan Afganisatan and the Afgani community, progress has stalled. Subsquently, there has been no public statement by the Gurdwara committee or alleged perptrators (who only seem to be a few). Whereas, an apology (via Akhand Path or Ardas) would have closed the matter. As someone, that does not know any of the individuals in this matter I have seen the Sikh channel present an issue (and report) on a beadbhi, breaking news live, and then go completely silent while honouring one of the alleged perpetrators. As a donator/ viewer its not unreasonable to ask why? What message does this whole saga send out to the Sikh youth? Its in everyones interest for all parties to resolve this situation quickly and not make matters worse. Instead, after pushing Sikh channel into a corner Dr Gurnam Singh made an extraordinary defensive statement which didn't address the topics and is unbecoming of a public figure.
  4. Mahakaal96, this particular topic is asking about the point of the Sikh media but you raised some interesting questions which I've commented on in the beadbhi post. In contrast, Gurnam Singh made an arrogant emotional response; How does he know this? why is it always about comparing money with some people? Seems like Dr Gurnam Singh does not value the Sangat's £5 per month contribution... and prefers big rich donors. What a humble attitude, does Gurnam Singh or the Sikh Channel have delusions of grandeur? State the evidence, wait a minute didn't Dr Gurnam Singh say 'Sikh Channel has changed the course of Sikh History and without it we would by now have disintegrated into many factions and deras...'? Seems Dr Gurnam Singh neither respects Guru Ji or believes we have a 'living Guru', does he feel satkar of Guru Ji is being overdone? can he clarify this? There are many good and bad people in all communities and societies. What's relevance of this comment in this topic or the one where the rich warehouse owner (which the Sikh Channel honoured) and the Gurdwara committee is committing the Beadbhi? Does the comment grant people immunity from beadbhi? The non-productive comments made by Dr Gurnam Singh are they very reason why the Sikh youth are so disillusioned with so called Sikh elders, which is why they sometimes act rashly. It is in everyones interest to move on and draw a line under this but Guru Nanak Darbar Committee and the warehouse owners are not allowing that to happen. Back to the point of this particular topic. The Sikh channel and others are fully aware of this issue, if you read through this post you can see there has been no adequate answer as to the point of Sikh media, ie. if Sikh media can't cover issues like beadbhi of Sri Guru Granth Sahib then What's The Point Of Sikh Media?
  5. Well done Dr Gurnam Singh, finally a statement from Sikh Channel. A defensive statement that makes a personal attack and avoids the questions... Whats the point of Sikh media if Sikh media can't cover issues like beadbhi of Sri Guru Granth Sahib? Firstly, I'm not seeking to expose anything, I asked a simple question and have no involvement with this matter. I read the news like everyone else. As for this statement, no true Sikh, Singh or Son of Guru Gobind Singh would say this. And yes, you need forgiveness for stating this. skaur8888 Yes, you are right. Sikh Channel is doing good. But how should this be dealt with? through what proper means? Sikh Channel are refusing to comment unless provoked and you have seen Dr Gurnam Singh's post.
  6. Brit Hits was a television channel broadcast via the Sky Digital satellite platform to the United Kingdom on channel 215, previously on channel 385. The channel, which was launched on 8 December 2008, was formerly known as Legal TV and Red TV. Brit Hits targeted an audience between 16 and 45 years old, focusing most of its broadcast on new up-and-coming British acts, as well as older British artists. In February 2009, Brit Hits was simulcasting Psychic TV, and also contained other non-related music programmes. It no longer showed music. Brit Hits closed on 13 April 2009 and was replaced by The Sikh Channel. The Sikh Channel was set up by Davinder Singh Bal's TV Legal Limited. TV Legal formed The Sikh Channel Community Broadcasting Company Limited to accept donations, which are used to pay broadcast and programming costs. The Sikh Channel Community Broadcasting Company Limited became a registered community interest company on 25 September 2009 and a registered charity on 2 June 2010. In December 2012, TV Legal Limited transferred the channel's television broadcast license to the Sikh Channel Community Interest Company Limited. Remember those DBS Law Adverts... As at 30th September 2012 Sikh Channel Trustee, Mr Davinder Singh Bal was also a director of DBS Law Limited and TV Legal Limited. During the that year the Sikh Channel PAID DBS Law Limited for "administration, other services and support". The total amount invoiced from DBS Law Limited was £14,726 (2011: £16,577) and other costs of £11,166 (2011:anil). TV Legal Limited company went into liquidation on 16 April 2013. No-one can hide the truth...
  7. After reading Bhaji Taranpreet Singhs post, I thought I'd watch the programme on MATV due on from 7-8pm. Having never heard of MATV I looked through the TV channels to see what MATV was about. At approx 6.15pm, when I switched over to MATV I was surprised to see a programme about Hindu astrology. I thought it was the wrong channel so I switched to another channel. After checking a while later I switched back to MATV at 6.45pm and the same programme about Hindu astrology was on but I let the channel run. My son who was nearby asked why we were watching a Hindu channel. I had to explain that Sikhs do not believe in astrology but the Harjap Bhangal program we were due to watch would be on soon. The program 'aired' and uncovered the truth of the beadbhi of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, making some excellent points. Uncovering how the Gurdwara Guru Nanak Darbar Masand committee in Southall has been fully involved in the collection of Guru Granth Saroops with a warehouse owner, telling people the saroops are biirdh (to be destroyed) when Saroops are ok for parkash. I explained to my son that we were watching two sons of Guru Gobind Singh fighting for sachai (truth). My son knows that the sons of Guru Gobind Singh are the Sahibzadey (and indeed, mentions the Sahibzadey everyday). I explained that no-one is helping these Singhs but they are still Chardi Kala in Sikh spirit. Even though the Sikh TV channels are not helping these two sons (and more sons) of Guru Gobind Singh they are still carrying on. These are true Sikhs (who have acted very reasonably) who love their Guru and the type of Sikhs we ALL need to follow.
  8. Wow, the stink of corruption, hypocrisy and double standards! This will spread very quickly unless Sikh channel comment. Can Sikh channel confirm or deny they have received donations from associated people?

  11. This what is says on; Sikh Channels website; Sikh Channel provides diverse, informative and interesting television which is accessible to the masses providing them with extensive knowledge about the Sikh faith and the current issues and affairs related to it. Sikh Channel also provides a wide variety of spiritual programmes including Kirtan (religious hymns), Katha (religious discourse), in addition to news, documentaries, chat shows and children’s programmes. Viewers are constantly invited to participate and present their own views; making Sikh Channel a great platform for thought, contemplation and discussion. Sangat TV; Remember, Sangat TV is for the Sangat and by the Sangat so please visit us regularly to be informed and involved with the latest news and updates. Sikh Channel spent over £30,000 on Dastar day, do they think dastar is more important that Sri Guru Granth Sahib? What is Sikh Channels opinion of the beadbhi that Afgan Masands in Guru Nanak Darbar in Southall have committed? What are the Afgan Sikh community doing about their so called 'leaders'? Who is dealing with the Trimex, Pier Road, TW14 0TW warehouse owners in Feltham that started this?
  12. The Sikh Channel (who are fully aware of this) opened a new studio nearby with an Akhand Path on 29th Sept 2013. Did they use the Torah, Bible, Koran, Puranas, Upanishads or Vedas for the Path? No, they used Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji. They got down on their hands and knees and bowed their heads to the FLOOR in front of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji. The guests made some amazing comments and speeches, all very nice. Waheguru must have enjoyed the show and the irony... The irony, if they used a Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji from Gurdwara Singh Sabha in Havelock Road, for blessings. Then they might have used a Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji that was due to be destroyed or sold under deception.
  13. STOP YOUR DONATIONS - Ask the Sikh Media (TV, Radio, News Channels) why they are not covering beadbhi on Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji in Southall? Whats more important news than Sri Guru Granth Sahib? What are Sikhs without Sri Guru Granth Sahib? Read this post below, http://www.sikhsangat.com/index.php?/topic/72691-beadbhi-in-london/ The hypocrisy the Sikh media is showing is amazing. Even more amazing is that a Hindu channel MATV has stepped in to help with a LIVE program at 7-8pm on 30/09/2013! So, debate. Whats the point of Sikh media if Sikh media can't cover issues like beadbhi of Sri Guru Granth Sahib?
  14. Very nicely put, but there's not much chance of getting Masands online. You can find plenty of Masands (Deceivers) counting the golak money though... Shame on Akaal, Sangat and Sikh Channel for not providing coverage and following up on this issue. MATV, a Hindu channel spent 1 hour of a LIVE show discussing what happened. Whatever people think about attacks on Sikh, it goes to show there are some good Hindu's who seem to respect Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji more than our own community and media!!! Just when you think you can't be surprised anymore, Waheguru provides a reminder. Hindu media - 1, Sikh media - 0
  15. Does anyone know how much Sri Guru Granth Sahibs are being sold for on the black market? (no disrespect to Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji)
  16. Have anyone actually heard from the Guru Nanak Darbar Committee or the people that done this since the news first broke? It seems the Khalsa Diwan Afganistan are taking the right steps to resolve this but they didn't commit the Beadbhi and there has been no information to suggest anything has changed. News is slowing spreading by word of mouth and (rightly or wrongly) this will no doubt further damage the image of the Afgan community (its not as if Guru Nanak Darbar Committee hasn't been given enough time to fix this). The Sikh Channel seem strangely silent...
  17. AJ111 which hindu faction are you from? Who's "we"? Which part of "Raj Karega Khalsa" do you not understand? "Remember how Sikhs lived with arrogant pride"... really? "As respected Dr. Gurnam has said the idea of Khalistan is not practical or achievable." Where did he say this?
  18. AJ111 how ignorant you are... do you actually think politicians 'deserve' fame and respect? Manmohan Singh is NOT the most respected and famous Sikh in the world. Besides Sikh Guru's there are many, many more Sikhs that are more famous and respected... I would question whether Manmohan Singh is actually a Sikh? When/ where did he take amrit? does he carry the articles of faith? does he do simran/ nitnem/ path? Also, what sangat is he part of? He is a 'politician' that has personally done little to aid the Sikhs and is a congress puppet. Further, he has been unable to use his considerable power and influence to stop attacks in the USA and deal with Dastar issues in Canada, France and elsewhere. Sikhs had high hopes for Manmohan Singh, but he has shown his true colors. If he were replaced, would anyone notice? Manmohan Singh looks weak, malleable and lacks conviction, and appears to be everything Sikhs are not...
  19. Wonderful story, wonder what happened to Maskeen afterwards? Is there a source for this Sakhi?
  20. It comes as no surprise to many that the Afgan Sikh community is behind this shame. If you allow Beadbhi of Guru Granth Sahib, then people will ask what kind of a religion do Sikhs have? If Sikhs can do this to themselves, what's stopping other people to be equally if not more disrespectful? If musulman or hindus did this, there would have been international news? Is this incident not a case of double standards? It doesn't look good for the Afgan Sikh community as a lot of other Southall Sikhs already believe they are ruthless greedy fraudsters that are only maya orientated. (Maybe, this is the effect of too much time with musulmans in Pathanization) (Why setup a separate Gurdwara when the main Southall one (mostly empty) is around the corner?) People might start to boycott Afgan shops soon... Either way, the Guru Nanak Darbar Committee need to issue a full apology for their involvement (dating back many years) and sort this mess before it gets out of hand.
  21. I hope masand's will not watch this and get any bright idea's... :stupidme:
  22. Dr Gurnam Singh, you have made some good points. (even if I disagree with most) If Sikhs awake and begin to carry out even half of what you have (very nicely) stated, then Badal Dal will be no more. However, I feel if Manjit Singh does have good intentions he will soon be removed. Others may dissect your comments in a less forgiving way... The "I'd rather be a hindustani than khalistani" point hurt... So which part of "hindu" or "hindustani" is Manjit Singh? "The non-Muslim people of the South Asian subcontinent called Hindu had no precise word for their religions. They were, as they are, divided into thousands of communities and tribes, each having its own religious beliefs, rituals, modes of worship, etc. In ancient India you had either a yogi, a bhakta, a tantric, a sanyasi, a sankhya vadin, a vedantin, a lokayata, a rishi, a muni, a pandit, a pragna, a yogini, a devi, a swami, a Saivite, a Vaishnavite, a siddha or Buddha, but no Hindu." Remember he also visited with a distinct agenda (against Khalistani nationalists) which is not what he openly declared or allowed people to prepare for at the outset. Perhaps Manjit Singh does not have the intellect you give him credit for.
  23. http://www.rediff.com/news/report/case-filed-against-manmohan-singh-as-individual-not-as-prime-minister/20130926.htm US court issues summons against the prime minister for crimes against Sikhs ahead of his arrival to meet US President Barack Obama. The Sikhs for Justice, a New York-based organisation, has filed a civil case against Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, who arrives in the United States today, 'for his role in crimes against humanity perpetrated upon the Sikh community in India' at the US District Court for the District of Columbia, which issued a summons to appear before it within 21 days after receiving the summons. The suit alleges that Singh's culpability begins in 1991, when he took over as India's finance minister: 'Singh approved and financed the infamous practice of "cash rewards" to members of security forces for killing Sikhs through extra judicial means often in staged and fake encounters to curb the Sikh rights movement in Punjab,' the SFJ alleged. More than $200 million was disbursed as cash rewards for the extra judicial killings, the SFJ claimed. The 24-page complaint then targets Singh's tenure as prime minister since 2004, saying he 'has actively shielded and protected members of his political party who were involved in organising and carrying out genocidal attacks on the Sikhs in November 1984 resulting in the death of more than 30,000 Sikhs.'
  24. I've had some open conversations with western friends. They cannot understand how Sikhs can be so hypocritical ie. spending so much, having weird rituals, marrying in front of something holy, then partying, eating meat and drinking alcohol like no tomorrow. They do not understand what is or what is not part of Sikhism. Some have mentioned whether as a result of what they have seen, the same happens in Gurdwaras. Most think the hypocrisy is the same in their own religion... Some have mentioned that muslim's would not dare eat pork, hindus would not eat beef so why do the majority of Sikhs (including both genders) drink or take intoxicants? Others have asked whether if Gurdwaras allow interfaith marriage (which is against Reht (a Sikh must marry a Sikh)) they will allow gay and lesbian weddings? The only reply that can be given is that the majority of so called Sikh's are not Sikh's and have lack of knowledge/ understanding about Sikh beliefs, history and Sikhism in general.. but the circus looks good to those people and their friends/ families who seek to outdo each other.
  25. Bhai Manjit Singh made some interesting points, notably choosing to be Hindustani rather than Khalistani and standing firmly by the Akali Dal alliance with BJP. The explanations for his and the Akali Dal position were not convincing. Bhai Manjit Singh's comments were seen as an anathema and we could feel the anger of the audience. I looked at the current 'Constitution of Shiromani Akali Dal' (English version) and in 12 pages, found the word 'Sikh' only once. The word 'Guru' was not mentioned. The words 'Akali Dal' were mentioned 70 times! You can view the document here http://eci.nic.in/eci_main/mis-Political_Parties/Constitution_of_Political_Parties%5CConstitution_of_SAD.pdf Looking back at the Anandpur Resolution (which the Akalis first introduced) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anandpur_Resolution. The word 'Sikh' is mentioned 20 times in a single section called 'Purpose' and the words 'Akali Dal' mentioned only twice (strange how things turn around...). Please read. On behalf of the Sikh Sangat, who has given the Akali's a mandate on their current policy decisions? I believe the Sikh Panth does not trust the current leadership and do not think they are representing Sikhs or Sikh views and concerns very well. We all know politics in India is corrupt and a sham. Badal has been Chief Minister of Punjab for a staggering 5 times. He is generally regarded as the second most powerful Sikh leader worldwide, after India's prime minister, Manmohan Singh. But, what are his grand list of achievements for Sikh's? What will he be remembered for? As a man that has done little for Sikhs. Badal has been reluctant to help the Sikh's because he does not want his family (and those that surround him) to lose power. Is he really scared of those still in jail like Bhai Rajoana? who would become the real Sikh leader if allowed... Unfortunately, Badal Dal (as they are now known) also knows that for Sikh's, the 'Congress' party are NOT an option. No point in even discussing those murderers. So, we have BJP and Congress, playing Sikh against Sikh. Puppet masters playing the foolish puppets against each other. The Sikh Panth needs to awake, which is why Badal Dal, BJP and Congress have allowed the Sikh youth to remain in their drug infested states. Badals focus has now turned to the UK, first the start of Akaal TV and now the DSGPC visit. They will never allow the strong independant Sikh voice of the Sikh Channel to establish itself in Punjab (Please support the Sikh Channel). The 'Khalistan agenda' is very straight forward and needs little articulation. In basic terms, Sikhs are fighting for their homeland and for their survival. Sikhs are fed up of being attacked, both overtly and covertly. Why are Sikh's so passionate about Khalistan? Maybe it's because time and time again Sikh's have been tricked, lied to, victimised, attacked and murdered by others, including those within the Indian Government and then denied justice. Who is willing to help or defend the Sikh's? How will Sikh genocide be stopped? Certainly not with cowardly hindus that attack only with organised support and large numbers. Whatever our views, it now seems clear from Bhai Manjit Singh's interview that the Akali's do NOT support Khalistan and Sikhs need to support Dal Khalsa. Sikh's in the UK are viewed as nationalists and Bhai Manjit Singhs visit has been reported (as a Badal Dal mission) to contain Sikh nationalist activity. The delegation was reportedly accompanied by two Chandigarh based journalists. http://www.sikhsiyasat.net/2013/09/20/manjit-singh-gks-encounter-with-sikh-diaspora-in-uk-and-indian-states-efforts-to-contain-sikh-nationalist-activity/ "Badal Dal is playing a pro-active role in containing the activities of Sikh nationalist groups and keeping the Sikh nationalist leaders behind the bars." For those who fell for Bhai Manjit Singh's comments... Sant Sipahi may not be for you or other Massands... Putting aside politics, as individuals we all should focus on Dhan Dhan Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji and make the journey from Manmukhs to Gursikhs/ Gurmukhs.
