  1. we had one of the most weirdest moments ever when we went on hol from Bham airport. the bloke called me n my mum to the side , at that place where you go throught the metal detector, and they told my mum they gona open her hand bag and asked if theres any sharp things in it, and my mum sed there wasnt. so they guy starts taking everything out, n im like totally unaware but then he pulls out one of these super size salais from her hand bag then the bloke looks at us, i was like oh no !! .............then i said, 'oh its for my turban .........then he went over to the women on the computer and come back and kept emptying the contents.......then he took out another 5 super size salais!!! haha , i was like, 'mum why did u bring so many!!' then the bloke looked at me again and was like wat are you playing at, no sharps!?? and so were all the goray who were watching, we went with some goray singhs who just started laughing cos it looked so bad carrying so many salias and most ppl dont know wat they are....then he went to see his supervisor and came back and to my suprise, put them bag in the hand bag and said ok thank you and let us go!!!! I would never take a salai with me, cos its gona raise questions and is a sharp object.... but i think its down to the supervisors discretion, i seriously dont know how we were allowed on the plane, i urged my dad to take a pic but he wudnt........... best to put it in the suitcase........
  2. they way you said his girl likes you and that there has been a misunderstanding seems like theres more to it. maybe you are not as innocent as you seem...... or come across but under the law you cant get evicted, he has to serve a notice. . . but if youve done something wrong, maybe you should just leave... under you own moral judgement
  3. stay away from high sugar, high caffine, high fat, processed foods things with contain alota cholestorol, hmmm basically alot of things we eat in this day and age lol we put our body under alot of pressure becos of what we eat. food only needs to be simple, a good mix of veg and fruits, raw and cooked, herbs etc eating to survive, not surviving to eat ...i think thats the saying. but there is soooo much to eat out there ...... so much choice, and yea its not easy i think just be aware of what we eat is prob the best advice ....... we normally know how we feel after eating certain foods, and depending on that we can adjust..........? and as above theres alot of info on the net...........
  4. information is now available, lets look forwards and not backwards, we aint got time to argue with ppl ............. lots to be done is there any poster which i can put up at the local gurdwaras? or shud we make our own............ last year was my first time, defo going this year!!!
  5. you can use Sat Nam , just like some sikhs who arnt amritdhari always say Sat sri akal instead of a full fateh................ also Sat Nam is a very powerful mantra which is closely linked to kundalini yoga........this is why they say it to greet or when answering the phone.......it isnt a replacement of the Fateh......... from my experience many usually reply in full fateh if you greet them with it .............but if your gona keep bumping into them like at a camp theres nothing wrong with saying Sat Nam. we should implement it when we arent gona say fateh ........ and yea you can reply with vaheguru.............. some apnai dont every say sat sri akal properly, its like a sasrikal.....lol
  6. dnt worry bro :console: just do your nitnem!!! :g:

  10. put it this way, its tooo long, and we dont wana be going through it, so this is our only chance............. make the most of it.....
  11. Things like this we should stay away from, because it ends up like one persons word against another. If you know any beadbi then let us know, or if your upset about how some people have behaved towards you then also tell us, but dont go tarnishing everyone with the same brush. what your doing is starting of nindiya, and slagging of people, this is not good for your jeevan. if sarpanch has been involved then its probably got nothing to do with Gurmat, probably him on a one man mission to start a fight....... saara(n)g || Saarang: ik oa(n)kaar sathigur prasaadh || One Universal Creator God. 12. Guru ji will bless us with Khalistan, when we go into rehit, do nitnem, do simran, seva and see all sikhs as one regardless of which rehit they follow, regardless of their dastar types, and whethers its panjamay or kacheray. a person who insults nihangs or jathebandis etc or goes around bullying ppl who dont belive the same as them, or go around judging others, pointing fingers at everyone has got a long long way to go. you need to point the finger at yourself and fix your wrongs. Guru ji will never give them the seva of shaheedi, they may be the most corageous, or with the loudest voice or at the front of every rally, but if they lack the pyaar and sikhi they won't even reach the battle field. we are here to be liberated and get salvation, when we live in the Khalsa way, then we will become tyar bar tyar, then we are capable of serving justice. but these ppl who shouting go around bullying others in the name of khalistan have forgotten or do not know the fundemental state we must be in. Im not talking about everyone who shouts for khalistan, there are some chardikala singhs out there and so many great sikhs who do so much seva so that we dont forget the past. The shaheeds gave their blood for us, to become Khalsa first, then we are blessed to do the same seva, its as if Guru Gobind Singh is waiting for us... its all about tyar bar tyar, love and compassion, its what makes us so strong together. . . .
  13. nope aint found a gurdwara or any sikhs in greece. but i have a cousin who is admant there are many sikhs there........... maybe greek singhs dont use internet and therefore there is no trace of them at all....
  14. only you know about your past and whether you have something. even if your past is your past, you are still responsible for your past actions. because of your actions why should your partner suffer? you must reap the result of your consequence. secondly if you are sure that you didnt do anything of this sort, and your patner is still just in doubt then you needn't , they may need to have a little more trust in you and take your word for it, relationships built on trust and faith are important. its all about being honest and trusting each other, both ways...... you gota make a decision between the two of yous
  15. go to south shields in the uk, diwan on wednesday !!! :)best place everrrrrrrrr

  18. while we are on the topic, im looking to buy a tabla, something which is in good condition or new.....if anyone has?
  19. fateh ji where are you from? get in touch with your local sikh society, if the college aint got one, the uni will. there will be someone there to help you. if your parents aint backin you, maybe united sikhs or some sikh organisation can contact the college directly or the singhs from the Gurdwara meet with the school........... if you are amritdhari there is no reason why u need to remove your kirpan.
  20. im not worrying.................................. I need to plan my journeys so need to know asap......i do my nitnem???????
  21. Vahe Guru Ji Ka Khalsa Vahe Guru Ji Ki fateh Sadh sangat ji, does anyone know if there are any Gurdwaras or Sikh Sangat living in any of the three locations where I will be going over the next few months and possibly to live. Carlisle, Saltby and GREECE!!!! Any info would be appreciated.............. Blessings
  22. True, I know Sikhs from Kashmir, Pakistan, Fiji and Hong Kong who are really devout. Not sure if this is the same for the majority of Sikhs living in those countries (areas) but its still pretty surprising, generally one would think that Sikhs in Punjab would be the ones who are really into Sikhi but this is not the case anymore. The Taliban thing was really surprising, just shows we can paint everyone with the same brush. is there a sikhometer? by which we can measure how devout someone is? there are more sikhs in some places so we hear more about them and see there problems etc, but about being devout there a mahapurash and saints all over the world, and devout gursikhs all over, its regardless of geographical location, havng said that its good that you know devout sikhs out there...............
  23. ok i was in ur place about sitting down, for a long time, and i really didnt know what to do.........it was bad for me, i cudnt sit longer than like 5 min. but after taking amrit and starting daily nitnem, i did paath without sitting against the wall. and also at the gurdwara i started sitting away from the wall. slowly without really realising, it became easier..... basically my tip to u is to practice!!! at the time it will seem that you just cant do it, but seriously after a week u will notice a big difference. just sit and read, or talk to family or watching tv, sit on the floor. at every opportunity sit on the floor... BUT away from the wall lol other tips start stretching your legs every morning and also before you sit down. correct your posture, like are you sitting on your bottom? or like more near the botton of your back, you will find sitting on your bottom that you can sit longer, try adjusting a little bit and finding a comfortable spot lol also widening your legs, or pulling your fit in , or moving them out, just adjust and try out different things i found that wearing jeans or trousers restricted my legs that little bit, which made it difficult to sit down longer. in bana i could sit through a whole rhensbhai !! at home try to eat langar sitting down. or sit on the floor instead of the sofa, sit crossed legged for as long as you can, then lie down, or change your position to rest, then go to the cross legged position again......... and keep alternating, slowly you legs will become more flexible....... stretching all the time, even dedicate some time to do simple stretches and relax your legs when sitting down, alot of ppl tense up, but keep your back str8........... also dont over do it at the begining otherwise you will get sick of it and stop trying. try to enjoy the process..........
