  1. Is it me or does there seem to be a rise in support for the bnp? Its quite worrying as i read a report that if they win some seats in the European Elections, they will generate alot of money for their party to market themselves better.... ...Will they ever become powerful enough to through us all out of the UK?
  2. Great News!!!! )))) I would give it a couple of months before i looked at booking tickets with this airline, because of the current economic climate. You'd be stuck if you bought a return ticket to Amritsar and then the airline went bust while you were in India, then you'd be stuck and have to buy a new ticket with another airline.
  3. They talk each religion down. I know someone who had them visit them, they were asian women and they and their comments could be taken as racist and derogatory against all religions. I have been to a punjabi church in the midlands in the uk where the preacher was preaching in punjabi and his comments could be taken as quite defamatory against other religions. It reminded me of Islamic preachers. I believe they are working very hard to convert alot of villages in Punjab. Just watch Glory TV on sky (channel 832 i think, next to BritAsia) I have seen it where they have shown images of Sikhs in punjab building churches and praying. Im not sure if the images are being doctored for the asian christian community in the UK. But i think there are quite a few punjabi preachers in the UK that have become quite fundamental in their comments and thoughts.
  4. There is a UK entrepreneur called Reuben Singh http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reuben_Singh
  5. I think this is true, the cows worked the fields to produce food for the family, drew water from the wells, used for transport to cart goods to the market and people. Also the cows milk was used to make a large range of food products like makhan (butter) , yoghurt. Mothers would use the milk to give to their children - Maybe why the cow is regarded highly in Hinduism because a person would see it as someone/animal helping to bring up their children to become healthy and strong. Cow dung would be used to heat the stove to make food. Because of its importance it was probably used as a status thing as well, showing people how well off your family was because the more cows you had the more you would produce from the fields to sell at the market. So i think the respect for the cow has come from cultural aspects of rural life rather than religious
  6. what about this then? or this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PrK7H2liRoI i have to say that hes a good singer and hes not like other singers who make music videos that you can't watch with your family. I dont know how religious he is though, but he does cross boundaries of religion and class across the whole of punjab, both in india and pakistan
  7. with the success of the bnp in the local elections in the UK, will they ever get to the stage where they will be in power and throw us out of the UK?? http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk_politics/7381633.stm
  8. this is just a small gripe. I am increasingly finding it hard to read and understand the slang that some people use to get their point across. Im from the UK and find it hard, but for people from other countries it must be much harder. Spelling and grammar is also another issue. Can we please not use uk slang terms as sometimes this stops your point being understood correctly. Thanks for reading this post, just needed to mention this thought. I feel much better now ..lol..thanks to those whho noticed my spelling mistake... :D
  9. couldnt there have been a more peaceful resolution without mob violence....
  10. thats not entirely accurate, or true. no its not entirely true, but i was looking at it from the point of 'mass immigration', eg irish immgrants who were also economic migrants to the usa like out fore-fathers were to this country from the 1960's onwards. environment and structural policies which are influenced by middle-class white civil servants making government policies and have no social conscious or responsibilty
  11. make your profile intresting add age and gender

  12. Because , i think, all of the white people in the US and Canada are also recent immigrants of that country.
  13. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/london/7307741.stm A nine-year-old boy has been found wandering the streets of west London, police said. Officers are looking for the family of Gurrinder Singh who was found near a clinic on Hartington Road, Southall, on Tuesday. The boy speaks only Punjabi and told the police through an interpreter that his uncle left him at a bus stop there.
  14. The population of Sikhs is above 50 % and may even be near 60% , the Indian courts recently ruled Sikhs were not a minority in the Punjab. The USA have also said that the India Pakistan border is the most dangerous palce in the world with a Hindu and Muslim country armed nuclear weapons having gone to war several times over the last 60 years, a buffer state could promote peace. I think the Sikhs as bad as they are would do a much better job than India at ruling ,as even they would not attack the Harimandar Sahib, Burn Sikhs alive and carry out a genocide of religious Sikhs between 1980 and 1995. Anyway the last time the Sikhs had there state under Marajaha Ranjit Singh it was considered the best run state in Asia. Kosovo probably has no more than 10% practicing Muslims and they still get Independence As it was stated above its all about money, political influence in the 'back-yard' of russia and to make the muslim countries around that area happy, i.e. turkey etc. As i said before its a battle of political influence in the area between the USA and Russia, each side is probably doing and influencing events through covert actions. I dont think the USA are as much interested in what happens between Pakistan and India as they now have influence in both countries with recent agreements regarding nuclear armament (they've got both countries in their pockets regarding nuclear weapons and technology now i think). Im not sure about this as recent news from the area was that both countries are increasing flights between the two countries because of recent peace and friendship between these two countries. And the fact the democratic elections where held in the country and the fact that the UK and USA were heavily influentail in getting back Butto in to the country as well as Nawaz Sharif and to get Musharaf to agree to this
