  1. Guys don't you think your comments are disrespectful and judgemental. Offering a hug is a sign of compassion whether it be to s man or a woman. People need to be more compassionate to others including strangers. Instead of judging this guy you should take a leaf out of his book.
  2. Is anyone else noticing the daily mail is always up fir righting an article that paints Sikhs in a bad light?
  3. Wow..well I think we are god loving as opposed to god fearing. Have u got any reason to believe otherwise? I don't actually no much about this so let me know
  4. I don't think the issue highlighted here is meant to disrespect people from rural India...but it has opened up a serious issue...many people uneducated in their faith follow it as they should and as a result of this many Sikhs are not really Sikhs. They have a doped cultural values that are against sikhi. This is indeed sumthing we need to work on collectively...but the question is how?
  5. I think the committee system in gurdwaras is not working well...It may be because the people running these committees are not truly in line with sikhi and often are not educated in their religion but rather their culture. It seems this altercation came about as a result of a committee clash. What do u guys think about our generation taking on committee roles? Do u think it would help the current failing system? What the methods of election...how can things be better?
  6. Well many people don't agree with it. I think that it's to do with the fact that Years ago in punjab there were many small close villages that perceived each other as family and often had the same surnames.even now those in pinds always marry out of their pind as they perceive all those eligible for marriage as their brothers and sisters. I'm just going out on a whim and throwing that out there. I'm not sure if that's why it's frowned upon but it may be associated to the issue.
  7. Knowledge is paramount in our progression in life and as a society working to better ourselves and humanity. How we obtain knowledge is through questioning that around us. To question our own religion, break it down in our minds and still love and appreciate it arguably produces strong believers. The problem lies in the way in which we ask questions...If we ask questions in a negative manner invoking aggression and upset in others our questions are not helping us gain knowledge to help us or others. We should aim to take care in the way we ask questions remaining detached from the answers and appreciate and love all answers.
  8. Can anyone explain the Treta Yuga and Dwapur Yuga in more detail?
