  1. Jeeoo, Sad news. Charity no 1120571 is set up as Sikh Community and Youth Services Slough not Mata Sahib Kaur Academy, i assume thats the parent charity running MSKA. The last accounts for Sikh Community Youth Services Slough was for Jun 2008 on charity comm website. Where can i see the Jun 2009 or Jun 2010 accounts & are they on sikhacademy.co.uk? If I paid in transfered money tommorrow will it still clear by Friday 21 Jan. Good luck with the fund raising.
  2. My masi and masard are sewadars at this gurughar. The committee are spreading some false propoganda regarding this issue. They are making out that they have recieved threats from militant sikh groups and are being victimised because of caste. They are not clearly communicating the issue to the local sangat. The local sangat who attend rst are being led to believe that they are under threat from outside forces. I think satkaar need to clarify that these claims are false and the committee are just atempting to deflect the beadbi of mjsr hall by scaremongering.
  3. Good news report. Highlights a moral reason for the campaign. Funny how these journalists and normal people on the street understand the sacrilege and stubborn "sikh" committees like RST still play ignorance. Satkaar need to watch out for the portrayl that committees and some leaders are trying to falsely push through. There are attempts to scaremonger the sangat into thinking that satkaar are violent etc.
  4. well done central gurdwara london, shepherds bush. you've set the example!
  5. speaking to singhs up and down the country, these definite confirmed jathas ready to come down to grays from Coventry, Leicester, Birmingham, Bedford, Luton, Southall, Ilford, East Ham, Slough, Southampton.
  6. What was the outcome of the meeting at Southall Singh Sabha today regarding the grays protest next week?
  7. hukumnamas and sandeshs mean nothing to this committee, even naming and shaming means nothing to someone who is besharm. I also fail to see legal action being succesdful especially as no uk sikh jathebhandi is responible enough to champion or fund the legal action. so, in the event of no interest shown by any other elder sikh group in either uk or punjab then protesting outside the gurdwara party hall on the day a boozey party is to take place is the only effective language this grays committee, the grays community and our overweight leadership might eventually understand.
  8. Back to this old familiar scenario! ! If the sikh leaders are to fat and lazy to deal with these issues, then the sikh community should at least step up to feel a sense of responsibilty for their religious centres. I know most forum members wont bother with this issue, but those who will be feeling concerned about the abuse of the gurdwara premises at grays need to contact this committee asap. This does not need to end up as a mass protest on 16 Oct, this can be resolved by the sangat feeling a sense of ownership of the issue. Isnt it time for sikhs to finally wake up and become proactive?
  9. Bhai Harjinder SIngh Shrinagarwale and jatha are coming to Ilford Sunday 25 July 2010 6pm to 7pm Gurdwara Singh Sabha E. London, 720 High Rd, Seven Kings, Ilford, IG3 8SX
  10. The GurSikhs from Coventry were Bhai Navreet Singh, Bhai Harinder Singh & Bhai Suraj Singh from Gurdwara Guru Hargobind Sahib, Coventry St, Coventry. See more on their website (www.guruhargobindsahib.co.uk) There is a Wednesday Sikh history workshop at Goodmayes Singh Sabha from 6.30pm to 8pm. All ages... There will be a camp reunion at Karamsar Gurdwara soon, probably in June, still to be confirmed. Contact Bhai Satvinder Singh at Karamsar Punjabi School for more info.
  11. "Deh Shiva Bar Mohe Ihai Shubh Karman te Kabhu Na Taroo" -Grant me this blessing O God, That I never refrain from carrying out a righteous act. A true Sikh of the Guru...I remember this Singh singing dharmik geet/dharna when in the sangat during the East London Nagar Kirtans. Is there any local keertan programmes in his memory? There should be some kind of memorial for him even if the funeral is not in the UK.
  12. Someone died!? If you ask me there should be have been criminal proceedings against the caterer, the family of the couple and the gurdwara committee. It was all their negligence and blatant lack of respect for sikhi which resulted in a death.
  13. Jujhar Singh Ji, you are obviously close to the namdhari belief and any further discussion will only become offensive. I wont take this discussion forward as it is inapproriate for other users. I would however like to communicate my family's annoyane at the Sikh Channel for allowing certain people of certain affiliations to represent the Sikh belief. We will be watching with caution
  14. Jujhar Singh ji, With all due respect I think you live in la de da land when you put forward the naamdhari belief. You seem to be picking on the acceptable aspects, which is hugely shadowed by the unacceptable aspects. I suggest you visit the local namdhari dera and see who really is their guru.
  15. The issue of namdharis is completely different, they have distorted Sikh ithaas to fictiously create their "satguru" . I am sure the namdhari kathavachaks a lovely man, but he shouldnt be allowed to be on an influential sikh platform like this Tv channel
