  1. How do you get around multi-user computers? Like if you have family membes who are using the same PC? Or if you are Uni and you have the same IP as someone else who is also using that PC? My bro's account was removed for this very reason but how do we sort this issue out?
  2. Bhennji, no offence..but I think you know what I mean by cheat....I don't want to post it on here because of the mature content.
  3. 3 years.....mad isnt it...two faced and horrid people can be. Oh well.....and I found out in the worst possible way...i won't even go into details but imagine what could be the worst and multiply that by 10 times. What makes its worse...there is little remorse... To hurt the feelings of another human being is a major sin, I just hope Maharaji doesnt give out really bad karma to her based on her actions towards me and the way she hurt me.
  4. You guys are amazing...thank you so much for your words... )))) ))))
  5. Thanks Jio, I know it's been disucssed a million times on this thread, but you never expect it to happen to you. I was brought onto the path because of her, always imagined we would chak amrit together....now I'm back to square 1. LOL its a good test mind you...
  6. To cut a long story short, I found out my fiance cheated on me. We were both very much into Sikhi and she is from a good Gursikh family. We were NOT physical in anyway and had a proper 'punjabi' engagement. Shes cheated on me and now I'm devastetd. How does one derive support from situation like this? I feel lost, but i do not feel like giving up my saroop, however I feel I've dropped 10 rungs on the ladder and need to climb up again. Naam Simran is fine and I'm happy to try and do that, but I just thought I'd post my sad sob story and just warn all those who think they are in a good loving and happy engagement/marrage to just be careful you don't put all your emotion into it and less in your true parter (Maharaji). KalYug is so very real and it's amazing how the people you look up to as good and wise 'Gursikhs' can actually be so very much different to your expectation. The hard part is picking up the pieces and moving on, espicially when all my crys to Maharaji are left unheard.
  7. Isnt this really a useless question to ask? We ALL know that we should take Amrit no matter what.... But we are all HUMANS and we all have our own personal barriers. To break those barriers is the unique task we each face.... It's like we all know certain things are bad but we still do them. Why...cause we are not perfect. The process to become perfect is our goal.
  8. 110% it WILL be focused around...YOU KNOW WHAT!!!!!! It attracted a shed load of sangat when they did their (SAS) talks in Manchester so I'm sure it will be better and bigger down in Brum.
  9. It's not really ludicrous. I work in academia and most departments do not want to throw people out (as it's financially viable to keep the student in, even if they are very poor academically). However, there is often some leaway....so I would find out how many marks she failed by (usually you fail a module if you get less then 40%). If she is border line she can appeal. On some courses, where the demand is high (i.e. medicine, pharmacy, dentistry) they will be very strict in marking as you are going to become a professional so they would expect you to pass. Either way, she should appeal. But if she failed an exam and she knew she had to pass it to stay in, there is nothing she can do. She may have to repeat the year or try somewhere else.
  10. WaheGuru Ji Ka Khalsa, WhaeGuru Ji Ki Fateh Sangat Jeo' We would like to draw your attention to seva we are carrying out through the North West Sikh Support Network, based in Manchester and working in the North West of the UK. We are here to give support, help and guidance to those who are in the wrong company, those threatened or abused, involved in drugs or need somewhere safe to stay and the support of loving sevadaars and sangat. We are linked with the Sikh Awareness Society and hope to help extend their useful seva to the North West of the UK. Our website address is: http://www.nwssn.com Please take a look and especially download the poster and e-mail it to all your friends. We have a dedicated phone line and can offer male an female sevadaars for you to talk to. With the many current issues affecting the Panth (conversions, drugs, rape, abuse), we hope we can help those in the North West UK (and further afield) to get them back on the path or in the company of the sangat. northwest.pdf
  11. Hey hey..no one said anything about degrading women and getting high!!!! Really...how do you link listening to music and degrading women and getting high...!!!! The music doesn't cause it...the person does.....if you are weak willed enough to get influenced by the music that you are really doomed..... This guy posted a simple question on the forum...so lets get back to his comment question rather then hijacking another post...I think you guys have made your point well enough and clearly enough!!! LOL..methinks this may be one of the posts posted on purpose to instigate a riot!!!!
  12. OK I'm happy that you spend 24/7 listening to Gurbai, you are truely blessed. I on the otherhand just have a balance in my life that helps me make my family happy, helps me 'live' in the world through work and earning money to support my family and also helps me keeping to my Sikhi and on the path. I neither over indulge in Sikhi nor am I distant from it. I try and 'enjoy' and 'appreciate' this world maharaji has given us and I remember that without the 'world' and 'nature' we cannot really understand Maharaji. I have no quotes to back me up, so these are really my own views. I'm not a 'youth', but really to be constructive and helpful on this forum, you really have to place yourself in the shoes of others and given useful help and advice rather then a gung-ho approach of being totally hardcore (or normal from your point of view). No one is saying your comments are wrong...in fact they are correct, Gurbani is the only way. But life is about a balance...between Maharaji and the situation you are born into...you have to work to support and feed your family and this you cannot become a recluse... Equally, it's simple implying a life devoted to Gurbani is the way to God...but I guess only a small percentage of people in this world are so blessed as to spend all their times in the presence of Gurbani...
  13. LOL i was expecting that sort of comment about 10 posts into the discussion...lol.... There is nothing wrong with enjoying music....why are people so damned hardcore. Keertan is the best....but there is nothing wrong with enjoying other things in life as well...all in moderation and its not bad....just as KAAM is NOT indulgence in sex(if with you wife) but rather an OVERINDULGENCE.....the same with a lot of things. Life is beautiful...if you don't see the beauty in all of life then you really don;t appreciate Maharajis creation. Music is good...Keertan is better. Back to the discussion...hiphop i'm not a fan of...well.>Ruff Ryders are good. Anyone into the likes of Karsh Kale...Midival Punditz??? the whole indian electronica scene is just great..if you are into table beats and traditonal female indian vocalists and musicians mixed into modern day electronica...it's good!!!
  14. I think its disgusting what they did....i wouldnt call it racism...maybe some sort of '...ism'...lol.... However, if you read the story, it said they guy was behaving funny on the plane aswell...but to be honest they shouldnt have removed him like that. Imagine if you went on a plane from London to NewYork and half the passangers felt 'uncomfortable' and wanted you off the plane...The best thing to do is the next time you are on a Air India flight, and you see a gora...just 'feel uncomfortable'....lol..and get cabin staff to kick the 'terrorist' off the plane......(and before you all jump on me, I was being ironic there!!!)
  15. There is no 'opinion' in it....if you are a Sikh you MUST abide by the tennants laid down by our Guru Ji's.... Of course, most of us don't bother or make excuses up etc etc etc....the usual issue of the 5 vices creep in and we get clouded by Maya... There is NO opinion however......a Sikh is someone who carries the 5 K's with pride and acknoweldges Maharaji as their true Father...simple as that.
  16. You should do what you belive in basically....really it your choice and don't be swayed by anyone on this forum. If you can justify it to yourself within Sikhi then it's fine....don't go by what we or anyone else say. Secondly, there are countless situations where the arguments that people have put forth don't really stand...e.g. a doctor carrying out an abortion...a doctor or pharmacist prescribing or dispensing the contraceptive pill...and i'm sure there are countless other arguments. You really follow your heart and stay within Sikhi, if you want to be a fashion designer...go for it!!! I wish you all the success...if you also happen to be a Gursikh...follow you heart but try and keep within Sikhi....so be a fashion designer...design clothes...but keep it within normal decency!!!! Enjoy yourself and your life...be happy, follow you dreams but mostly keep within SIKHI!!!
  17. Very great posting, a real insight!!! One of the few worthwhile posts on here!!!!! I loved the chubby kid photo!!!!
  18. I recorded most of it on DVD. let me know if you want it. With regards to most of the previous comments, whilst I agree to some extent (in that we got the hard end of the stick), we have to remember we are the minority in India, always have been and always will be. It doesnt mean we have no rights, but it's something we should bear in mind.... We were certainly betrayed, but neither did we have a strong enough voice to really make a difference against the overwhelming Muslim and Hindu presence that has always been in India.... The best thing that happend to India was when the Brits were there....at least we lived in 'peace' with everyone. The period between then and the late 1990s was pretty bad, but with Guru's kirpa, even if we never get Khalistan...there will be NO MORE bloodshed between Sikhs and Muslim and Hindus.....so much loss of life and it's served no purpose!!!
  19. I made a similar point before about the conversion issue. The blame shouldn't always be put on the boys. Girls have brains, its their own fault if they don't use it to realise the issues with mixed-religion relationships...just as in the case of conversions or boys and girls too... No one can force you to do anything, but many of us are ignorant of ourselves and where we and others come from... Equally, we can educate and keep eachother in Sikhi, but at the end of the day it all is upon the individual to make that choice. Don't forget people that it may not be a bad thing for someone to marry out of religion. We hear such a ho-ha about apni koria marrying muslims guys...but you can't really judge their relationship. It may be good for some girls and the outcome may suit that couple... It's too complex a situation to simple get all hyped up and argumentative about, and it really is something we should educate each other about, but we MUST bear in mind that at the end of the day it's their choice...if they choose to marry a muslim guy fair enough.
  20. For a really great example of the problems with Sikhi, please take your time to read the arguments being stated within the post: Beadbi! Need Some Facts And then once you have done that, PLEASE re-read the original reason for posting by the Bibi..... Really, it doesnt need any more explaining does it.... (SOMEONE PLEASE help the bibi with her answer!!!)
  21. There is nothing wrong with online dating...it is up to the people themselves to stay within the boudaried of decency. I met my soon to be parter on the famous Shaadi.com....we've know each other for over a year and will be getting married in the next coupld of months. Through her I became more drawn to Sikhi and started keeping my kesh and we both have NOT been intimate at all, so really....in terms of a future partner, if you approach it with some common sense, there is nothing wrong at all.
  22. Sorry to say but some <banned word filter activated> has posted 'good' comments about Sikhi....or what they may see as good comments, but it's just gonna make things worse... To be honest, let this site do what it wants...its such a small site and I'm sure people will not just use the wikipedia type of source for information alone, we all know how biased Wiki- and Muslim- pedia is... WHy bother stooping down to their level of <admin-profanity filter activated>-for-tat comments and remarks. In particular, hope someone removes the child molesting thing....that is surley gona cause them to write an even worse rebuttal...
  23. WGJKWGJF You are right, I haven't encountered many Sikhs down that end of the world when I work. You're best bet is Warrington (there is a Gudwara there) or better still Manchester..>Sherbourne St. Gudwara espicially is very nice...it's only 30 mins drive from Liverpool aswell!!! Or try Preston as well.
  24. I have to agree with the previous poster. Can one convert really affect Sikhi as a whole? No. Let them parade him around, who cares. This guy made a choice to accept Islam and good for him. We have free will in choosing which relgion we wish to join. If they parade him around good too....it really doesnt impinge on Sikhi at all....are we really that weak willed and soo on edge that we organise a mass 'lets beat them at their own game' type thing? I for one dont give a damn really. Its something else if this guys starts degrading Sikhi...but again we will only know for sure what he said or what happened if we actually are there to see it first hand other we will become idiots and jump on a band waggon leading downhill. The recent events on Scotland are a good example (the boy who lied about his attack). I think we have to be aware that Sikhs may choose to convert from Sikhi to another religion. Why is that such an issue? I'm sure if this was a Christian thing or Buddist thing no-one would be wasting their time writing about it on here. Guys, we must be xenophobic and we must accept Islam as any other religion and accept a persons choice in choosing religion. Really, we shouldn't be at such a level. We should just carry out with our own agenda...i.e. moving us closer to Maharaji. I think we dont have to prove anything at all, we have integrated well into British culture, unlike a lot of muslims...and I think this is where their 'issues' lie...they are stuck between a rock (islam) and a hard place (the 'West'). **ONe more thing** With regards being targetted by those trying to convert others. Again, this is a issue to a certain extent, but this really effects those of us at uni. But to be honest, if you are at that age you really are NOT a child. You have brains and you have the option of reading and looking into Sikhi. Maharaji didn't give us everything on a plate....but he provided everything for us....those who are weak willed or drift away to other religions are at fault in their analysis of their own religion. They have FREE will and will convert if they feel like it. They are not children who have no will so I think when people start screaming at shouting about girls and boys being converted....those very girls and boys are not dumb!!! They have a brain and if they dont use it, it;s their own loss!!!! I'm not saying they deserve it, but part of their choice is free will (after all, it's not as if the other party had a gun in their hand forcing a conversion) and a lack of knoweldge of their own religion so really it's down to that person to analyse what they want from religion and either stay as a Sikh or maybe find another religion that fulfils the gap in their soul.
  25. You think? I can recount countless times when Singhs have walked straight past me along the road without even offereing a fateh etc...
