  1. At the age, there's usually hormones going age piche, ether oder. All going back and forth jumping up and down. To say that she shoudl see him as a 'rbuva' is just ridiculous, because biologically that would be impossible. Just go with the flow. Know your limits. I'm not saying go and date him or anything like that. The feeligns that you're going through are normal, and you're not a 'pappi' or whatever just because you've got the feelings you've got. Just accept that they're there..move on with life... and know where your limit goes. Bhull Chukk Maaf
  2. Alias Prince. Guru Ji gave us shaster, but not to chatk everyone as the first solution. No point in bombarding Amazon. If one person is ready to write up a professional letter it would be nice if organisations such as BOSS, COSS, and other major Sikh organisations could mail them. Bombarding someone with mails is hooliganism, and not the way of the Sikh (something I myself have recently released)

    Hair

1- Loosing hair when combing is normal. It is meant to go out. Don't freak Why are you so shy asking your Guru? We are not the Guru, nor can we give the response of the Guru. When doing Pesh, go and ask them before the Amrit Sanchar. Guru ji won't bite. I Promise. The bestest answer only comes from Guru Ji (Panj roop) herself.
  4. You mustn't worry about beadi in this case..since it's all English translation.. As a matter of fact Trumpp is the author of the first English translation of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji. Full of faults, errors and other dodgy stuff. No Gianis were ready to help him due to his habit of smoking, and once (I believe) he was caught smoking infront of a saroop. THe Gyanis refused to help him. Who does he go to, for help to translate? Pandits The introduction contains some beadbi. Let's see what our dearest Ernst ji Trumpp writes in the introduction - Mr Trumpp only say linguistic importance in Gurbani and failed to notice the mystic and the 'raas' in the Bani. Vachara. I believe it was publshed for the first time 1877 (more than 100 years ago). When he got the mission to translate he was a professor of oriental languages in Germany. He was also a Christian Missionary (like our dearest Mcleod jee). I've got a copy of a letter Sent by Sihks to the 'crown' at the time (signed 1899) complaining at the translation, showing that it was rejected already back at the time...and Max Arthur Macaullifee took up the task of retranslating Gurbani (I believe his one is much better..and was subsequently published by Oxfort Uni press 1909) So here we've clearly got a case where an INSULT is made to Guru JI's bani. Anyone up for writing a letter to the publisher requesting them to stop printing the book which contains rascist and insulting remarks to our Guru?
  5. I like your solution of celebrating it both dates. On the other hand I still disagree with disagreeing with a calandar accepted by the Akal Thakhat. Who are we to reject it? SSM the dates our Guru's came on this planet are long lost. There is no absolute date. Mohsin fani will say one thing, Janam Sakhis will say another. Read Cunninghams book...i it he writes the different dates provided by the different contemporary writes. Sometiems the dates differe not only by months and days byut by YEARS they were born. They day they were born is irrelevant. THey're contribution is not. The Panth has made a decision, The Panth is above all.
  6. Hi LK.......I don't think anyone attatched importance to what they ate.....thats why its not recorded by them. They ate too keep fit and strong and what their own conscience told them was Ok. Hi Randip Singh, Thats exactly what I meant. Since no importance was attahced to what they ate, or their diet.. it wouldn't be recorded.. so how can be bring up a bunch of names.. who's history is hardly recorded...would their diet be recorded? If he's posted names.. they shoudl be substaniated. I know for sure tha atleast ONE of them did not eat meat (later on in life).. I cannot confirm about the rest..and I know it's irrelevant... it's just out of curiosity..how he can know about their diets
  7. Begun by getting rid of dodgy litterature by authors like Sant Baba Mcleod Jee Ingland valey, Sant Baba Pashaura Singh JI Amrika valey, 108 Baba Ji Harjot Oberoi Vancover vale, Dhan Dhan Baba Gurinder Singh JI Mann Caler phornia vale.. Until their litterature is around and acknowledge (and found in liberaries) their students of Sikhism will increase..and more disinformation of Sikhism will spread. Complain to your local liberaries. Everything shoudl be done in peaceful manner. read more about these Sant Baba Jees on www.globalsikhstudies.net
  8. Our of curiosity...although it is irrelevant..completly irrelevant.. I was wondering if you have evidence to support your claim that all those Gurmukhs ate meat (The Khalsa Fauj) Akali Kaur Singh, for example, as far as I'm aware stopped eating meat at a later point in his life... I know it's irrelevant...but just out of courisity... I mean historians rarely mention the Shaheedi of Bhai Taru Singh (I believe even cunningham's book misses it out.. mite be wrong..)..so how can we be sure of his diet.. I can understand that Akali Phoola Singh, Jassa Singh Alhuwalia and Hari Singh Nalwa.. historians probably mentioned it... But what is rhe evidence that the...or the Singh Sabha people.. ate it.. . what evidence do you have to back up the names provided... Again, I know its irrelevant who ate meat and who didn't...just that considering how poorly our history is written.. it surprises me that you were able to provide names.....and information about their diet. Just out of curisoity...... Again hopefully you can provide contemporary references......and back up your statements..
  9. I've been looking for recordings of this events on ektaone regularily... Did anyone record it? Would be really nice if anyone who recorded it woudl post here or something.
  10. That it works, and has been working for Sikhs for a few hundred years. (Most) Sikhs bath daily. (Most) Sikhs regularily wash their hair. (Most) Sikhs have been able to reproduce and keep themself hygienic. All you need to tell thme is that Sikhs need to adjust themselves a bit.. but it works.. has worked.. and will work
  11. Davinder..i very much doubt that. Waheguru and Taksali.. if you want to continue folowing the moon. you can do so. The reaosn why it was 3 June 1984 is because they at the time where following te moon calandar, which means dates change. NanakShahi calandar follows the sun year. TS are you above the panth or is the Panth abvoe you (i'm not way too fond of the calandar myself...but Panthic unity... goes infront of everything. Panth's decision is binding to all)
  12. Bhenji, I know some people who want to give advice... But prefer to do it by email or by PM-ing you.. (i.e. not on the public forum). Coul you either post your email adress or create an account on this website.. with a anonymous name like "anon" or something.. so that they can send u a response
  13. Bhai Randhir Singh was involved in the discussion of the Rehit Maryada. If you've got the authority to say no to that..then go to SGPC and ask them to remove his name from the maryada. The "true" Maryada is that of Guru Gobind Singh Ji, which his Khalsa has full right to make decision over. He has given the Khalsa full authority, sicne he made the Khalsa Panth and Guru Granth into Guru.
  14. Thanks for the quick responses IA and TKF.. The Maryada is and was accepted by the whole panth to create coherency amongst Jathebandis/sampardas/dals. If new Jathas appeart and start claiming lineage and start claiming to have monoply , it is not their fault. It was and is accepted by the whole Panth. It's a different issue if new groups start appearing calling themselves panthic, and doing everything not panthic (divey, thali arti etc) Ok Jai te Gang, you are welcome to go and protect black cows... because the maryada prohibits a Sikh to kill a black cow. Have a look for yourself if you don't believe me - http://www.damdamitaksal.com/lit_rehat_18.htm Go and protect black cows, aif you think that's what Guru Gobind Singh created his Khalsa for Prove it. Tell us which rehitnama mentions 5 mornin Banis. Some do mention 5 banis in total, which means 3 in morning + 1 evening + 1 before you go to sleep. Nowhere does it say that you shoudl limit yourself tothree morning banis. go for 10 if it pleases you, but DO NOT INCREASE THE MINIMUM SET UP BY THE GURU. As it's looking I'm sure many jathebandis will make Asa ki Vaar mandatory. Doign Asa Ki Vaar daily is a boost! It's wicked! Amazing! But do not raise the set MINIMUM. Again, read the Rehitnamas which are rehits from the mouth og the Guru, which poets have written down. Although many have been edited and modified, not a SINGLE ONE forhibits meat eating (I'm a veggie and believe that ideally you should refrain from eating meat... in normal cirumstances... but it is NOT a KUREHIT) You have NO RIGHT on this planet to go around telling people tha a Maryada (which I agree with in many points) that says that a Sikh shouldn't killa black cow is the closes to the maryada by the Guru. There is no SGPC RM. It is just your imageniation. You have been told again and again that SGPC only PUBLISHES it, yet you keep on calling it SGPC maryada. It is PANTH PARVAN REHIT MARYADA BY AKAL THAKHAT. I trust the judgement of my Dasmesh pita who gave Guru Gaddi to Guru Granth and Guru Panth. Guru Panth has made a decision. I have no right to go against it no matter how many times it makes me raise my eyebrows (which it does at times..but I still have to respect and obey it as a chella of Guru Granth And Guru Panth) If you do not trust Dasmesh Pita's KHALSA PANTH. That is your problem. Please don't encourage people to not kill black cows. I'm not having a dig at DDT maryada, because I agree with it in many points (and disagree with ti in many points)...but the Panth Parvan Rehit Maryada is above everyone. Even the Guru had to obay his Khalsa even though he didn't want to. He knew thta leaving ANandpur would be disastrous yet he obeyed the hukam of the Khalsa. He had to kneel down and obey the Khalsa. The Khalsa Panth above all. Bhull Chukk Maaf
  15. Sikh supreme, You state that it's a cultural issue and not a religious one, why then did the Guru have to bann it? It is a practise that is to 90% attributed to SIKHS. As for the problem arising only in Punjab -that is a LIE and trying to push the problem under the mat. Jakara has highighted several articles in Punjabi newspapers in the one and only AMRIKA. The problem does NOT only arise in Punjab. The movement only has access to a certain amount of resources, they begin in their HOME COUNTRY. If they have enough resources, I'm sure they wound't mind educating stupid Sikhs in Punjab. If you watched the trailer (I must have missed th epart about bars and clubbs) they are speaking generally about Sikh men being allowed to do much more than Sikh women, jsut ebcause they're women. You're talking about muslaman-.ism. Just look at our community. Ourcommunity probably treat females more lik $h"#¤%&/( than any Muslim in a Sharia-run-country! (hyperbole) Regarding the miniskirts. Why are you so bitter that they removed it. It seems liike you don't want Jakara to developp but want it to close for ever. They made a mistake. They amended it. What more do you want? You yourself are saying you want it to develop and become more Gurmat oriented, and what it IS developing, and when they ARE removing offensive material you're accusing them for doing it so people favour them. You seem to only have ill intentions about the organisation. I'm an unbias person because the only reason I'm making an issue out of this is because it's stupid for people to slander the effort they have made. They have many flaws, just like anyone else, just like me, just like you. Lets work together on making it more Gurmat oriented instead of slandering them, discouraging them from doing the good things they're doing. Let's approuch them with a positive attitude rather than jump at their heads for making mistakes. We're humans. We all make mistakes. It's OK. Guru Ji won't be angry if you innocently make mistakes. I promise. THey made mistakes, and amended themselves. Be happy. Don't act like you're some hard-core Gursikh, who's very concerned about the message of Guru Ji, because unless you acknowledge that everyone makes mistakes and there place for development in everyone.. there's no point.
  16. If you have the yearn, you will do it one day or another, no matter how much anyone says. Attend one of the Sikhi Camps this summer. They are sure to boast you properly. I personally recommend one of the following- Sikh Student camp - www.sikhstudent.org BOSS Camp (Sikhi Camp) - www.sikhicamp.com I assure you... in sangat, in the precense of other Sikhs and other youths in the same age.. you'll feel much better. Personally think you should go Sikh Student, since most of the people there are very relaxed and many of them are or have gone through everything you are going through. It's really inspiring to see how people at the same age are following Sikhi. I'm sure you'll make many new friends and have a crazy time! Let the Guru guide you
  17. Won't dissect yor posts, will only mention some of the issue raised - 1 - The camp isn't a Sikh one, so they should renamed it My Response: Just because you don't agree with what they say doesn't mean it's not a Sikh camp. Secondly I havn't seen any girls with miniskirts, so I don't see any reason to comment on that- 2- The camp, as far as I'm aware is open for males (hence why when regestring you can select your gender, amel or female... 3- If the targetted groups is wrong - do something about it. They can only do a certain amount og seva, with the amount of resources they have. It seems as if they're using the resources in agood way by discussing the issues, and then finding a siolution, by for example reporting illegal X-RAy/aborting clinique advertisments in Punjabi newspapaers to the authoroties. Pretty efficient. What has anyone else done about it? Do I support Jakara? For God's sake I didn't even know about it before some days ago! All I'm saying is tha there's no point sitting behind the screen and slandering it. Go out and do something about it. Don't create a rivallry camp, but go and help the develop and don't leave it to !one day i'll do it". Stop slandering other people's effort. Acknowledge their effort. Send them feedback on what they shoudl change, and go there yourSELF and help them. Contribute. Don't hate. Love
  18. Bhaji Garm hogey 1 - I'm not coming up with excuses. I honestly don't knwo much about Jakara, since I've never been there, and am the atlantic apart from where it is. I'm not acting as if I know 101 about jakara, on the other hand,my veer jee, you are. 2- If you acknowledge the good point, take the good things out of it and spread the good points they're trying to spread. Don't malign them and blacken them. There's no point. You're not going to win out of it, nor is anyone else. But you are creating problems for an organisation (it seems9 is sincerely trying to solve some of the sexistic problems found in SIKH PLACES OF WORSHIP, and other SIKH EVENTS (notice me non-use of PUNJAB). We're all trying to label the problem as a Punjabi problem, and don't admit that most Sikhs are in fact Sexist !"#¤%&/()=. 3 - AKJ and Taksal was another example of jathas. Just like jakara, they too are not flawless. Neither is BOSS, Sikh Student, Khalsa Camp valey, nor is anyone else. Bhullan andar sabh ko, abhul Guru Kartar. Now instead of wasting everyones time, spend youre time on helping jakar on things you consider they are doing are good, i.e. anti female foetcide. have a nice day sir Bhull Chukk Maaf
  19. Speaking from experience.. the most slandered camps tend to be the best one. I've never been to jakara (actually I'm the atlantic apart from the continent it's running in!) Now let me add a twist to the debate. Do you know better than all those Sikhs who slander AKJ, TAKSAL or which ever jathebandi you associate yourself with? Tehanu jada pata ohna nalo? They prolly had some good reasons for slandering them. If one good point isn't going to "good-i-fy" them, atleast ACKNOWLEDGE that there's some good aspects about it. ACKNOWLEDGE. Alais Prince, I sincerely hope that you're not just talking, and that you seriously WILL get up from behind the screen and WILL ATTEND the movement, and WILL contribute to the movement and make it becomre more gurmat oriented, rather than just sitting there and pointing fingers. They've probabaly made a huge effort to make it possible. INstead of highlighting all the bad things, acknowledge the good ones. Look at they're schedule. Everyone failed to notice all the Gurmat oriented workshops, discussions etc etc... but pointed their fingers straight at the mid night picnic (although I do admit it soundes dodgy... I've got no right to point fingers without knowiing what it's about) I never said i considered ti to be flawless, just like BOSS camp or any other Uk camp for that matter isn't flawless. All of these organisations are run by youth who want to make a change. Only the Guru and Akal is flawless. Everyone else (includeing you adn me) are full of flaws. Jakara, BOSS, Khalsa camp, Sikhstudent valey, all have flaws. I don't know much about Jakara except what the agenda says on their website, and from the looks it seems like a safe organisation, despite the flaws they might have. Whether they're panthic, depends on how you define panthic. I wouldn't define many of the Jathebandis/schools/sampardas etc etc considered by many as panthic, as panthic. Depends on your definition of the word. Go and contribute to it instead of wasting your and everyone else's time slandering it. Kisida ni faida ethe ehmi baith ke chugliya karan da. Attend!
  20. I've read the thread you have pointed towards. All of them completly and utterly fail to cover anything productive they're doing. Of course. It never was a 'discuss the movement' thing, but a 'slander the movement to the max thread' wasn't it? No-one mentioend their contributions towards fighting against female foetice. They're struggle for equality? Who cares about that rite? Instead of sitting behind a screen and slandering them, go there, attend it, and make it more Gurmat oriented if you don't like it as it is. It's not going to help to create a rival organisation and ditch them. I'm sure they'd love to have you're contributions, and how you can develop the movement. Do sometihng productive instead of sitting behind the screen and slandering.
  21. You still failed to answer my question. Have you been to the camp or not? Simple question.
  22. Prince. Have you ever been to the movement/camp whatever it is?
  23. Edit function does'nt seem to work.. Could admin delete this..since I just noticed someone else had posted a similar topic..
  24. Is this the manji sahib that is being replaced?
  25. Although Pakistani Punjabi is Sweet and pretty pure (although Urdu is creeping in)...and Majha is close toit.. Majha punjabi is miles away.... Majha Punjabi is probably the wierdest of them all!!! Gare Gare..... Ki karnDE oh.. dodgy..
