  1. Plus who said I was some 'admitted expert' about the dumbing down? There's no two ways about it, everything is dumbed down for pendus. Who can't see that? The only people who can't see it, are the dumb themselves.
  2. Who do you think is the dog's bollocks then? Go on, give us a laugh. To be honest, they are pretty much all insufferable to me, that's why I prefer reading. This guy just smashed it with his santhiya readings, I can't count how many other people have also learnt to read Gurbani from his recitals. That's got to be acknowledged. I did see him a few times at Goodmayes Gurdwara and he was better than most I've ever heard (which ain't many). I mean I stayed till the end for the first time. lol Moms used to watch Maskeen a lot, but as a young energetic person, I always found his style a bit boring and couldn't engage. Plus you know all these guys like to add their things in. And you should know by now, given the opportunity, I prefer trying to decipher the original puratan texts when I'm able to. It's like shastarsingh said on another thread, You can pick up important information within two minutes in a book that you have to listen to two hours katha for.... Katha not my thing, so I'm no expert about it. But seeing as it's mainly done for rurals, I don't have high expectations anyway. At least they aren't bhangra paa-ing like fudhoos I guess? Not until later in the evening anyway. PS - I think maybe because he is of a considerable girth, his vocal delivery is clear. Some others I have heard sound like they are mumbling somewhat which is off putting.
  3. Yeah, don't give up on learning to read it, I learnt late. So it's not impossible.
  4. Cool. It's just there are some things I can't post openly regarding the situation in the UK.
  5. The fat guy dude. I only say this because all the other Taksali gianis I've met have been in good shape. One of the top guys is well into Ayurveda. I can't remember his name.
  6. @justasking ਤੂੰ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਪੜ੍ਹ ਸਕ ਦੀ ਆਂ?
  7. You should try reading Prof. Sahib Singh's teeka as well. Here's an English translation of some of it: https://www.sikhawareness.com/topic/13297-english-translation-of-prof-sahib-singhs-katha-of-japji-sahib/?tab=comments#comment-117311
  8. "Have you seen the Mona Lisa?" "Which one?" "The bhund one." "Oh, no." lol!!!!
  9. Come on, in terms of exposition, he was heads and shoulders above the rest with his katha.
  10. Let me throw my unsolicited two rupees worth in. In the larger scale of things, him allegedly trying to kiss some adult broad, although not good given his position, is pretty minor compared to other crap going on in the panth/world. From what I hear, he is not allowed out of India now, so if it's a punishment you want, he got one.
  11. And what happens to most guys who try and pull birds being a nice guy? At best they're tolerated until the broad finds a manly man then unceremoniously dumped, if not bro-zoned like cucks.
  12. Thing with just focusing on your family is that eventually the stink from elsewhere reaches you. And your own sisters, daughters don't live in a vacuum. Yes, we probably can't stop it entirely but we can do a lot better than we have in the past. From my perspective, a helluva lot has been accomplished at this point. It wasn't easy. Ultimately it's about pushing the whole community in the right direction. That we discuss this these days without mor0ns coming out with "They aren't Sikh girls anyway, they are Panjabi." or other similar nonsense is an achievement. I see what groups like SYUK and SAS are doing and I feel proud that younguns are stepping up to challenges. I see how they use social media successfully and are raising awareness on levels never achieved previously and it fills me with hope. As long as some of our panth still has some fight in them, with Guru ji's kirpaa, we will win. The issue has begrudgingly been accepted as a real one by lots of the community outside of street guys now. To have got here is an achievement and a victory for all the people who originally stepped up to this. Big respect to the B'ham crew for kicking us in the right direction. Deepa Singh for turning his life around and finding good purpose in life. Respect to the late Bhai Jagraj Singh for making it an issue too, where people who would normally hide behind their 'religiosity' had to face this issue because a respected figure spoke on it. Respect to Bhai Mohan Singh for all his work, not only in facing up to grooming from pak quarters, but also highlighting sexual abuse within the community.
  13. Nah, we need to educate girls not to get themselves into this stuff in the first place, and train all our people to be sharp about seeing what's going on around them. You know ultimately, I think this only works if we start seeing each other as family, including the responsibility to help the vulnerable amongst us. We have to undermine, disrupt and cause so much headache for the groomers that they look elsewhere. That doesn't just involve beating them up.
  14. They are predators, and will exploit any weakness they perceive rapidly. Say if they come across some under aged girl who's just had a row at home, and stormed out in the evening. They would have her in a flat and a bunch of other guys around in minutes.
  15. I don't doubt they are, but I'm just making a point about the future of our society if we continue to operate along basic lines. That's why other mfs are sending satellites to space, creating modern weaponry, helicopters, airplanes, computers, phones etc. etc. and our lot be like this just because they got 7 straight day dahaarhis in.
  16. I think it works like this (well it did in the UK): Street level guys are the first to clock what's going on, they respond. The aahhm junta (invertebrate panchoday) go into over drive to vilify them. This goes on for a while. Then the ahhm junta (probably decades later) clock what's going on (usually because some outsiders verify it, like here when all the stuff about gorian being groomed came out). Then these lunhs do a complete volte face because being the lemmings they are, it's now 'important' that we confront this as a community.
  17. You could be a big Singh too, who's docile. Then they're probably thinking "Oh these are the canon fodder we used. Bravo." I remember a few years ago some english twat in the pub saying, "Sikhs were the first to get killed in the wars! Scoff, snigger, scoff!" Then when I replied: "No, they were the first to kill." His sniggering stopped dead in its tracks. Let them feel/know that things could get 'buckwild' if certain lines are crossed, and see how they'll treat you then. Open your mouth about issues and be opinionated - see how they react then. If they say "oh you helped us in the wars." Reply: "And you left us to be mass murdered and raped as a thank you. Nice people." Show them you have an independent mind, and see how they like that. Of course they'd love docile useful id1ots.
  18. Look I'm not trying to offend, but seriously I have to ask: Why the hell do so many Canadians write like they never finished school? You've got guys from India who can write better? What's happened? In answer to that second point, please acknowledge that apnay here were simultaneously fighting against the police, government and media. Plus many of our own lot burying their heads in the sand.
  19. This wasn't just something confined to that area, at that time brothers and sisters were getting more and more conscious of the wider picture nationally. Now, given what we know about social services, police and government actions (or inactions actually) we can say that those people challenging certain stuff, were right on the money. Truth be told, I wouldn't pay any attention to what most of the west London lot say, frankly speaking they don't seem too sharp. Plus, there were guys involved on the Sikh side who weren't from those ends. Not from Bow but nearby. Don't ask specifics though, you might hot me up.
  20. I think you've simplified the whole Langley thing in an incorrect way. Those chalvey boys were a precursor to the grooming gangs. I remember meeting some at uni, they were pressurising Sikh girls in halls to 'date' them. They would try and get intimidating, and if you got some scared pinky, whose never been in the big bad world prior to being thrown on her own, far from home in her own flat with some other girls, they might make stupid decisions. These guys knew exactly what they were doing. I'm not contesting that some slappers were doing exactly what you've outlined above, but to think that was all to it is ignorant.
  21. These people don't matter. Like here, it'll be street level guys that will make the difference.
  22. Good old fashioned ar5elicking completely ignoring the subjugation and colonisation of your own people, the stealing of wealth and loss of sovereignty! Well done.
  23. We want to put some of their noses out of joint. We can't have this 'harmless' docile image continuing. Even politically we get ignored because of it. We can't duck facing important issues just because we are condescendingly tolerated whilst we never rock any boat. That's the guaranteed way to slavery.
