Taksal chief flays media Chandigarh, May 19 Damdami Taksal chief Sant Baba Harnam Singh Ji Khalsa here today said the Sikhs had protested against the chief of Dera Sacha Sauda in a peaceful manner, but the dera men attacked them. He said dera men were responsible for creating trouble at various places. He condemned the role played by certain channels which projected Sikhs in bad light. The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) in collaboration with Hindu organisations in the UK organised an event to honour the birth anniversary and life achievements of Madhavrao Sadashivrao Golwalkar, the second “sarsanghchalak” (leader) of the RSS, who is also known as “the brain of the RSS”. The event was held at the Avait Cultural Centre in Wembly. The President of Sri Guru Singh Sabha Gurdwara, Southall, joined the leaders of Shri Kutch Satsang, Swaminarayan Mandir, National Council of Hindu Temples, Hindu Forum of Britain, ISKCON-Bhaktivedanta Manor, Hindu Council of UK, Vishwa Hindu Parishad (UK), National Congress of Gujarati Organisations (UK) and Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh (UK), who all spoke after one another to praise and honour to Golwalkar, who was revered by his supporters as “Shri Guruji”. Ramesh Kallidai, general secretary and vice president of the Hindu Forum of Britain and Hindu Aid, spoke that the expansion of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) was one of Golwalkar’s greatest achievements as it promoted Hindutva (the ideology of Hindu nationalism). He also quoted Indira Gandhi praising Golkar for his personality and the intensity of his convictions. Suresh Soni, the general secretary of the RSS, gave the concluding speech about how Golwalkar had sacrificed his life in thinking about and acting on how to awaken the Hindu society. He said, “Shri Guruji and the RSS sought to unite, organise and create assertive Hindus”. Sohi, lit a diva (oil lantern) in the honour of the memory of the RSS leader and spoke that the best way to pay tribute to “Shri Guruji” was to work hard for Hindu-Sikh unity. The irony of Mr. Sohi’s tribute is that the RSS believes and propagates that Sikhs are Hindus and that Sikhs are not a separate religion, identity, nation or ethnicity. The RSS, is a rightwing Hindu nationalist organisation that hopes to attack the Sikh faith and lead to its eventual assimilation, along with India’s other minority communities. The RSS have made inflammatory speeches attacking Sikh ideology, propagated a distorted view of Sikh history, influenced distortions of the Sikh religion in school textbooks in India, produced literature attacking the Sikh religion literature, and has an agenda to infiltrate Sikh institutions and politics. Responding to the attacks and insults of the RSS, on July 23rd 2004 and August 11th 2006, Sri Akal Takht Sahib issued a Hukamnama (edict) that banned the RSS from participating in any Panthic functions and asked the Sikh Nation to boycott the RSS and its organized programs. How can anyone claiming to be a Sikh pay tribute to a founder of an organisation that has insulted the Sikh Gurus, dishonoured the martyrs of Sikh history and distorted our religion? Mr. Sohi has hurt the sentiments of the worldwide Sikh Sangat and has shown allegiance with those who work to attack and destroy the Sikh Panth. In September 2006 Panthic Weekly exposed how Sohi had allowed beadbi to take placed by a Bollywood crew at Sri Guru Singh Sabha, Park Avenue, Southall. Later, he apologised to the Sangat for his gross neglect of the sanctity of the Gurdwara premises. Himmat Sohi also has STRONG relations with a former infamous Vice - President of one of Birmingham's biggest Gurdwara.

A case has been issued against both "Pachoor Singh" for using "Damdami Taksal Wale" and "T-Series" for issuing these CD's without obtaining permission from Damdami Taksal to use the name. Damdami Taksal calls for Sikh unity Bathinda, August 8 The Damdami Taksal passed seven resolutions on the occasion of its tercentenary celebration which concluded at Talwandi Sabo yesterday. Raising the issue of a separate Sikh state, the Taksal resolved to continue its “struggle for freedom”. Another resolution was passed to intensify its efforts to ensure the release of Sikhs who were languishing in jails since the days of “Dharam Yudh”. The Taksal alleged that agriculture, which is the backbone of the Sikh community, has been pushed to the verge of devastation. It gave a call to all Sikhs to unite on a single platform to find a way out of the crisis. The Taksal also raised strong objection against “distortion of Sikh history” in various text books. An appeal was made to the Sikh Sangat to respect Sri Guru Granth Sahib and keep away from deras mushrooming in the state. Baba Isher Singh, the son of Sant Baba Jarnail Singh Ji Khalsa Bhindranwale, was felicitated with Baba Banda Singh Bahadur award.
