God doesnt need to do bhagti. What would God do bhagti of? himself? Maya is created by waheguru it is nothing without God...the mind boggles at how maya became so strong, God needed to subdue it...

@Singh2017 consider this a lesson on why not to believe everything on the internet. Also please dont be confused. Guru Nanak Dev ji certainly did not have a past life. Guruji is the avtaar roop of Waheguruji. About the other gurus, it does seem like they had past lives. But dont worry, if waheguru ji can reside in scripture form and hear our prayers and answer them and accept  the food we offer and perform miracles and even in the Granth avataar, not be limited in power. Then God can choose to reside in imperfect  human beings as well and not only purify them but make them him. Tell me what is stronger paap or wahegurus power to cleanse paap? If waheguru is most powerful, then paap, joona are nothing to him. Where he appears that place and person becomes pure. Im not an akj but one book which can answer ur question as to why sants arent considered like gurus is the book: 'Is worshipping Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji Idol Worship?' The book is by Bhai Randhir Singh Ji. You can find it online. On vidhia.com or ikatha.com or google it. Its name might be Is Bowing to SGGS akin to idol worship...

He sat for many ages in the silence and discovered who He is. Ie Truth

Then He created this Khel out if Pure Unconditional Love for us without any expectation of return, for us to discover what He did in a fraction of the time.

The Gurus went further in this as per His Will, serving us GGSJi, the gyan of Truth that they discovered and earned through experience, on a plate.

They made it as easy as possible for us.

Not push but provide assertive guidance. Sikhi is unique from other religions, if you read SGGS Ji you will see Guru Ji rejects the islamic and hindu rituals.... and speaks out against those inhumane rituals and practices and other social ill's of humanity. Is that religious tolerance? Some may say in today's snowflake westernised societies that is not tolerant and that is outspoken teachings and offending speech that may rock the boat.

I agree with most of what you're saying but they're not forcing people to change religions etc. They're just speaking the Truth Fearlessly. No matter what the cost, we're always meant to speak the Truth. Sikhs we're tortured because of their unwillingness to lie and their loyalty to God.

When it comes to forcing or pressuring someone that's not right, that's intolerance. You can call someone a fool when they're a fool without doing it in anger and without needing anything from anyone. Whether we practice Truth or not makes no different to God, He's already winning.

And the losers lose as He Wills it.

Say you have a young brother or sister or you have your own kids...

How would you stop or guide them from converting to another religion or leaving Sikhi altogether and become atheist?

In Islam and christianity the kids are brainwashed quite heavily against leaving the faith which would mean eternal hellfire for the disbeliever and only path to salvation is following that faith.

Does Sikhi have anything like that in scriptures which we should be teaching our people so that they do not take lightly the thought of leaving the protection and beauty of Sikhi. I know there is verses which state without the Guru there is no salvation (of the soul) in this life...

Everyone's free to do what they want.

The Gurus never Stopped anyone or pushed anyone to believe anything. They respected everyone's choice to believe what they chose. They just taught.

All u can do is teach. U never push anyone to do or believe anything, that's completely contrary to the Gurus teachings of religious tolerance.

Guru Granth Sahib Ji teaches us to become One with Truth, as the Gurus did.

Guru Nanak Ji disappeared for 3 days and came back with the gyan, no Hindu no Muslim, only One.

He did Bhagti for this gyan. Anyone can become a Brahmgyani or Sant,

Hes given us all the gyan and the ever present Truth for the taking- the Gurus  made it so much easier for us, giving us the gift of the gyan they learned, all they ask is we accept and apply it 100%. It's supposed to be easy. We

But sometimes it's so quiet and I can't even hear it - is that bad? It's still happening with my lips and mouth for sure but I'm thinking about something else but I can't hear it?

U don't need to say it out loud.

Just remember that he hears every prayer you say whether loud, quieter or silent. I say His name in my head and remember the gyan I've been taught (also simran).

I am very glad that the UK sangat is engaged and using all of their resources to help Jaggi.

As for the sangat in Punjab, I fear that they are disillusioned and consumed with other problems ...

Hopefully something is done. The UK is full of Lawyers and educated folk. Maybe people who know the law well could form a group and share and use their knowledge. If not done already.

Maybe lawyers who use Sikh Sangat.

This is why I wanted to become a Lawyer, to fight for Human Rights.

Unfortunately I never fulfilled this dream.

  7. Lust is an illusion. 5 theives are maya/ not real. When you love your spouse and you make love, it cancels out lust.

Indulging in maya(in this case lust) is just you trying to deviate from your true self. Find your centre and understand your true nature.

Were meant to find peace and contentment in our true selves instead of running around delused like a crazy person.

Westernisation in India is happening at rapid rate. The Bollywood movies are losing their Indian touch. Women prefer western dress. English is creeping in Indian languages.

All of this was predicted by Sant Attar Singh Mastuana Wale.

India is far from majestic. So much rubbish happens there, the government is corrupt, poverty everywhere, garbage littered everywhere. Insane how governments who are elected to maintain a country and put it in its best shape get away with this stuff.

  9. Religions have been at each other's throats for thousands of years. It's nothing new.

Sikhi isn't a religion, it's Truth. Guru Nanak said there's no Hindu and No Muslim (meaning no religion), Only One which is Truth.

So just accept it and focus on your own life and path, let the fools be fools

<<<Tulsee Das was a Saint. When he was young he was devoted to reaching God and he struggled slowly on this path. When he got married he was head over heels in love with his beautiful wife, she became the sole reason for his living, everything he did was to please her. One day he surprised her with a gift - she was overwhelmed by his love and said, 'If you were devoted to God half as much as you are to me, I'm sure you would have reached God by now.' The words struck Tulsee Das to the core and his earlier life of devotion came flooding back to his mind, from that day on God became his sole focus once again.

Many years later when Tulsee Das was old and wise and respected by all in the village as a saint, a Brahmin priest came to him. He said to Tulsee Das, 'All my life I've preached and read the scriptures, but I haven't met my Beloved Ram. Tell me what I should do?'. Tulsee Das said, 'It's very simple, all you have to do is climb that tall tree and jump off the branch with full faith that Ram will catch you.'

The Brahmin was inspired and climbed the tree, he sat on the branch and looked down at the hard ground below. No matter how hard he tried he couldn't make the leap. Many hours passed and the Village HeadMan (SarPanch) walked by with a bag of money. Noticing the Brahmin he enquired as to what he was doing. The Brahmin explained that Tulsee Das had said that by jumping off the tree Ram would catch him. The SarPanch who wasn't a religious man quickly said, 'O Brahmin, if you like you may have this bag of money, but give me Tulsee Das's blessing in exchange.'

The Brahmin didn't take too long to think about the offer and was soon off on his way with the bag of money. The SarPanch climbed the tree went across the branch and with full faith in Ram he jumped off. Ram caught him like a baby in its mother's arms.

Sounds too unbelievable to be true? But look for the deeper meaning, there's a very, very important spiritual point to this story. I am like the Brahmin, I do my nitnem prayers and preach to people. I do Waheguru Waheguru meditation and I follow the bits of the Guru's Shabad that I like and ignore the bits that are difficult to apply. I follow half of the Hukam, God's Order, and my life trickles away like this then I wonder why I haven't met Waheguru ji. When my brother comes to me with a great business opportunity my focus becomes how I can make lots and lots of money and in the background I rush my nitnem and Waheguru Waheguru meditation. My life trickles away like this and I wonder why I haven't met Waheguru ji.

But one day with Guru Ji's great kirpa, I hear the story of Tulsee Das. Now I realise I am like the Brahmin, I have lots of things to live for and I am scared of dying. Guru Nanak Ji says 'I have no anxiety about dying, and no hope of living.' (p20). Why is Guru Nanak Ji so brave? Because he has full faith that Waheguru ji is looking after him 'SIREE RAAG, FIRST MEHL: I have no anxiety about dying, and no hope of living. You are the Cherisher of all beings; You keep the account of our breaths and morsels of food. You abide within the Gurmukh. As it pleases You, You decide our allotment. || 1 ||' (p20).

So in my ardas, 'Guru Granth Sahib Jee you have given your blessing like Tulsee Das gave to the Brahmin. Give me full faith in your Gurbanee Words like the SarPanch had full faith in what Tulsee Das said. Baba Ji may I follow your words 100% and if it kills me then I have faith Waheguru ji You yourself will catch me.'

And dear Khalsa Ji, when you die while alive and are caught by Waheguru ji then you will be called Jeevan Mukhat. While still alive you have obtained liberation. By dying to the Shabad one finds the True Life held in the arms of Waheguru ji.>>>

    vahigurooo

    This is about 100% surrender.

There's no point in 90 or even 99%surrender as maya seeps through the cracks in our bhagti.

    Full surrender is key.

naam is a wider concept than just a name , because ultimately Akal Purakh has no name (check Jaap Sahib)

naam is the bismaad inducing realisation of the reality of Their/its presence throughout the creation with that loving niskam focus

    Nice quote and very true.

    Naam is Truth.

Meditating on Truth is remembering it(Simran)  and practicing it in action. It's 24/7, you apply and practice it in daily life.

It's silences your mind(the thieves) so that we just Be. A lot of people mediate and some achieve the silence. And many practice good deeds, some don't slander others, don't hurt others, don't practice maya lust, anger etc.

Not just brown people, but many people of many races from different countries. Some accept Him as All, as Nirboah and Nirvair.

The Gurus never thought about what other people will think.  They carried on with their seva hence earning their Guruships.

Use your break time, walking to and fro work and also weekends for maximum quiet time and focused mind on God. The bliss is greater when you are less worried about the world.

I occasionally tend to read the meanings of gurbani from my phone, whole in waiting rooms and other places. I can see people curiously observing my face wondering what I might be studying,  however I get back to reading coz I have limited time to study with full focus.

Hearing and speaking the Truth brings about a beautiful energy.

They're probably looking at you in wonderment. This used to happen on the trains to and from work, people staring as you meditate and pray.

It's good for people to see someone meditatively absorbed in peace in noisy places and when peoples minds can be filled with endless noise and chatter.

Vaheguru Ji, that has scared me I'll be honest. I didn't know these dreams meant so much. Maybe Maharaj is preparing me for something deeper. Thank you for enlightening daas.

    Vaheguru Ji.

Nothing to be scared of. He's staring you right in the face. Everything, good and bad is just His Darshan.

If you respect Him, and bow to Him in your heart in truth recognition, seeing each Darshan, even in waking life in the forms of your parents, friends, family members, as Him, you won't fear shite. Believe me. It's just a khel.

Talk to Him, he hears every prayer you make to him whether loud or quiet.

Keep doing your simran. Sometimes dreams push us into action.  You will encounter lots of resistance when you start simran or increase it, however you have to persist in order to get to a better level.

Also include your dream in ardaas to Waheguru and ask Guru ji to protect you from any difficulties that might be in your path. Ask Guruji for help in helping you focus better in your simran.

I usually repeat the shabad aukhi ghari na dhekhan dhei if I feel unsettled.

Remember it is a good sign to get these scary dreams.  It simply means you are getting somewhere and some force is trying to hold you back. Fight even harder.  Soorma so pehchaniye jo larhe dheen ke het.

    Nice post.

OP I used to have nightmares regularly and when I started naam Jaap back in the day it got so bad and I had such horrific stuff happen which I won't talk about because it's not important.

What's important, and the lessons you're being given is that a Bhagat(loving devotee) shouldnt be scared of anything.

One story I Will tell is of the day I conquered my fears of these spirits. I jumped out of my body and sensed a demon coming up the stairs in my house. I was terrified thinking i'd die, then I felt a wave of calm, I laughed, sat on the floor and said, 'Oh God I know it's just you dressed up as a demon', as it came to the top of the stairs. Then the white light came and I came back to my body alert.

Truth is a psychology. It's remembering the gyan of gurbani, in meditation, sleep and your daily life. The remembrance of gyan, as I did in the story above, is So Powerful that it vibrates u at a frequency where that stuff can't get to you. Because you're no longer bound to the illusion of Fear and imagery.

Fear doesn't actually exist. It's All just Him.

Truth remembrance 24/7, apply(remember) and act on gurbani throughout your daily life (this is also Naam/Truth simran(remembrance)). Do Good deeds, kill the theives, don't slander or hurt others, Instead teach them to be good souls, and you lead by example. And work hard and exercise.

And also meditate from 12:30am, a powerful time to go deep within.

I respect "Waheguru ji ka Khalsa, Waheguru ji ki fateh", but tell me since gurbaani says god is the only thing that exists.

"Sab Gobind hai sab gobind hai. Gobind bin nahi koi" . If god is only thing that exists, then how can there even be a concept like "victory" or "defeat".

Its like me playing tennis with myself. its ridiculous . I am neither the winner nor the loser. For me to either win or lose, there has to be someone else ! But with god, there's no one else. Even things are him only.

So "Waheguru ji ki fateh" is against whom . ? when waheguru is the only thing that exists . Also since everything is his , both good and bad, then why we say "Waheguru ji ka Khalsa" too.

I am trying to understand. no offense

Mods might consider moving this thread to Gurbani section. Sorry !

Yeh but this is a khel designed by Him for us to discover Truth.

When fools go against good souls like the Gurus, theyve made bad choices and done wrong, they've not only deviated from truth, but they've tried to harm those who practice it.

He makes us victorious, preserves our honour. Because we the khalsa belong to Him, and all victory belongs to Him because we are One, He works through us.

  16. Whats the update? It's been ages, can't believe he's not out yet. Shows how much regard the UK Government has for Sikhs. Considering how many there are there.

Can this be taken to the UN? Human rights, though I'm sure this must already have been done of possible.

In my personal experience , as far as I have seen, sikh men who marry hindu women end up ruining sikhi in their families , as the son ends up being either a mona or sardar with trimmed beard

OR even if he's a "gursikh" , he will mix vedic stuff with sikhi and that leads to often underestimated DIRE consequences for the panth as well !

As a child gets its sanskaar from a mother's womb, a hindu mother will invariably give birth to a hindu son, even if he's you know a turbaned guy.

Notable examples include harbhajan singh puri , alias , yogi bhajan . We all know the mess he has created for us to clean .

I would never ever marry a hindu woman if i had to marry . I would rather marry a muslee (funny how these are the ones stigmatized by the sikh community worldwide while the hindus get an open hand among sikhs)

What is this cult created by yogi bhajan . Was he a hindutva guy .

Live and let live. Being spiritually accepting is being accepting that people choose to live in different ways. Focus on your own life and silence your theives.
