Barrister Peter Moulson QC said Badwal's addiction to drugs was the root cause of the offending and his client could not recall what had happened in the house. At the time of the attack, he was on bail for his involvement in multiple street robberies and was jailed for five years at Leicester Crown Court in May. Speaking after the hearing Det Supt Tony Nicholson, said: "Badwal unleashed a serious and sustained assault on his father in the house that they shared, leaving him with injuries which were to sadly prove fatal. A n investigation is under way after a major brawl involving bottles, knives and even swords erupted in west London. Officers were called to the fight on King Street, Southall, involving around 40 men just after midnight on Sunday, Ealing Police said. Two men, in their 20s, who carried swords during the violent confrontation were chased into St Johns Road, the force reported. They were arrested for violent disorder and affray and remained in police custody on Monday morning. There were no reported injuries from the disorder. The reason Africans do better is because most of them (particularly those from West Africa) came here as professionals with degrees whereas the ones from the Caribbean obviously didn't.
