  1. this incident happened on eid. pakistani muslims already have a history of sexually abusing non muslims, and many of whom have a sexual perversion when it comes to the religion of others (there have been countless reports many of which available on the internet). much of slough sangat are saying that the girl was a Sikh. Some sikhs spread a roumour that thames valley police confirmed the girl was not a Sikh, however it was later established this was a lie. while thames valley police are refusing to disclose the religious background of the girl, slough sangat are sure the victim is a Sikh. @notoriousksj, this is so common, its hardly a "MASSIVE assumption".
  2. typical. many islamic scholars have described the "ummah" or "global community of muslims" as a human body, and i have heard many scholars from various different areas of islamic study say "when muslims are hurting in kashmir / usa / iraq / afghanistan (bla bla etc) a part of every muslim body hurts"... now when it suits you, the term "muslim" is nothing more but a label. it seems you want to have your (halal) cake and eat it. if all muslims hurt together as 1 and if all the ummah is 1 body, then yes you do take responsibility for your entire ummah. if you disagree that the ummah is not one body, then gather a group of muslims who share this belief and propagate this belief that challanges the belief of mainstreme muslims.
  3. LOL - Class idea! this has happened throughout our history...we have always been victorious in unequal battles... khalsa has never ever attacked first.. hawara shera was cuffed and still got the better of the snake that TRIED to attack him.
  4. he reminds me abit of the comic book guy in the simpsons!
  5. hopefully. in any case, frozen halal meat will be available to them. Its nothing to cry about, the humble person would eat whatever they have access too and be greatful for it.
  6. ive heard this before.,.. but i dont get it. time (as in 1oclk 2oclk 3oclk) is man made so how can sachkhand be limited to something man made? also we have daylight saving and leap years, so how would this impact the times of sachkhand being open? and sachkhand will be open at different times depending on where in the world you are? for example sachkhand could be open at amritvela in uk but closed in australia until its amritvela there? dont mean to be disrespectful but i dont see how sachkhand can operate in accordance with specific times which are manmade. in any case... Satguru Nanak Dev Jee Maharaj Parkash Purab Diyan Seva Lakh Vadhaieyan :smile2:
  7. you missed my point. i wasnt saying that any meat is halal providing they say bismillah over it. my point was, that if halal meat is not available, there are other non meat foods they can eat. - although muslims can eat halal meat, they do not have to, it is not a requiremnet that they must eat it. for example, if halal meat is not available, there are other alternatives, such as halal vegetables. also the video report said they can have halal imported (frozen). halal (hopefully) will only be banned in the country. i think thats very fair. im not about to cry a river.
  8. Tazeen Ahmad should be commended for her undying efforts in the wearing task of dealing with real issues within the paksitani community (which even some of our own sangat have been denying). This is at least the 2nd or 3rd exposé she has brought to light. There are many issues within the pakistani community, There certainly needs to be more national awareness about this disturbing issue of pakistani gangs grooming school children who are mainly from white and indian backgrounds.
  9. i agree with Beginner... in general muslims are the first to make trouble for sikhs, they have made several attempts to draw negative attention to the kirpan... they dont support our religious freedoms so why are there members of sikh sangat following in upinder's footsteps? the halal ban has been looked at from the perspective of infringement on religious freedom (even though a previous user has rightly stated that eating halal meat is not compulsory in islam - this view is also supported by the renowned islambic peacher zakir naik),.... now how about we look at infrigements of animal rights?!..
  10. SinghInTraining, out of interest why did you write "I would defend the muslims (and jews)", and not "muslims and jews" or "jews (and muslims)" ?? I support the ban due to the barbaric blood thirsty way in which living creatures are killed. Guru Sahib died defending rituals of the hindus - true, however we should remember, the hindu rituals did not involve causing bloodshed of any sort. We should further remember SatGuru Amar Das Sahib refused to have veiled women in sangat. Personally im a vegeterian and dont eat outside, but some of you may be interested to know that in many subways in the UK the Ham isnt not actually Ham, its halal turkey that has been dyed pink. Halal meat is served in a huge amount of places, and customers are totally unaware. This is against consumer rights and possibly tthe religious beliefs of others. If meat is halal, customers should be clearly informed.
  11. FINALLY! after 10+ years of bbc asian network trashing sikhs, an excellent show that all sikhs (and non sikhs) should listen too.
  12. my sister nicknamed those type of people IAW's..... Indian <banned word filter activated> Wipes. they are dirty dogs and traitors. even the mughals and british respected the sikh warriors to an extent. they are nothing more then keshdhari punjabi token IAW's. also, in 1984 (not sure if it was after bluestar or not) but indira <banned word filter activated> went to a gurughar in new york.... all the IAW's at gurughar gave her vip status and were overwhelmed with joy to receive her datty stanky presence. One Sikh, who had the right idea stood up against everyone and spoke out against Indira, .... for this... he then had to suffer a beating.
  13. Vaheguru ji ka khalsa Vaheguru ji ki fateh sangat ji, please advice me, which is the correct maryada for taking hukam from guru granth sahib ji maharaj. one singh told me it is against gurmat to take hukamnama from the right ang of guru granth sahib ji maharaj, but ive seen this happen many times. if this is true, that means 50% of guru granth sahib ji maharaj can not be given as hukamnama. please inform this moorakh. Sab Sikhan Ko Hukam Hai Guru Manio Granth :respect:
  14. the way kam singh has been treated is wrong. the main focus should be on the two goons that complained to ofcom. we / sikh channel should not shy away from raising awareness that -yes sikhs suffered several genocides by indian gvt -yes sikhs are discriminated against by indian gvt like davinder bal said, anyone who rejects these views is free to take up sikh channel air space and discuss their points of view. why dont they do this? they have silenced the sikh voice in india, they are trying to silence us here too.
  15. what was baba santa singhs role before during and after bluestar? can sangat please inform....

  19. vaheguru ji ka khalsa vaheguru ji ki fateh theres a european researcher who is currently interviewing sikhs. she would like to interview as many sikhs as possible from any background. keshdhari and non keshdhari's. she would prefer to interivew relatively young people (say aged 35 or under). her interview room is based in bloomsbury (near euston and kingscross central london). her research is funded by British Academy of Social Sciences and Humanitites and is conducted from University of Oxford. her aim is to understand what it is like to be a sikh living in britain today. she would like to understand how sikhs feel and consider about their homeland and their attitudes towards britain. if you are able to help out with her research please contact her for further details : Gabriella.Elgenius@nuffield.ox.ac.uk she is interviewing on the 15th and 16th of this month but also, she may be able to arange other interview dates.

  21. ....... both sides have said the same things again and again..... why cant the anti dastar brigade drop it!! they keep coming on here with new ids and stuff in a pathetic attempt to make their lame points stronger.... they keep poking at the same points again and again... theyre not going to get tired of this..... they want conflict... now what can be said that hasnt been said already?.... - thats my point. some sangat are for and some against, get over it. forget it. its nothing to fight over about for centries after its finished. half of me thinks this whole dastar day thing was a diversation to get our minds off what happened in punjab with the sgpc elections and all the beadbi..... now quit bangin on about how wrong dastar day was... its in the past ... move foward....
