  1. I will make a few points but I generally am leaning no. Firstly, I do not support large ceremonies such as this. The more people, the more egos in you vicinity, the less clouded your view of Waheguru. Who knows if these people are even paying attention! Secondly, mass sanchar I do not support either as it frees you from the spotlight which should be burning a light right through you during normal < 10 person sanchar. But I would like to make it known that I have no understand of the size of the panth in India. Perhaps it is impossible to get personal time in a Gurdwara to take amrit. Third, there is too much drama and infighting. Great parchar though.
  2. What aspect of the Guru's justice ethos do you believe we should think about?
  3. I was not awares of this (living the the US) and apologize for my remark. On this subject I think it is important to educate people on the fact that we are not to wear strings, and Hindus often wear red and saffron colored strings. The meaning behind my point was because our Guru told us to wear 5 kakar but my opinion wass that the lazy and conformists are opt to negate keeping hair but would wear inexpensive and modern garment.
  4. Yes this. This rings true in all faiths but Islam. The women are leaving to join the secular western world of flashy lights, a quick high, and free sex. But what is exclusive to Sikhi I think is simple tenants are being ignored that lead to bigger problems. It's not saying prayer morning and night, and not keeping at least the 3 easy kakar (kanga, kirpan, kara) on you. Lax behaviour snowballs in to the panth forgetting to remove ego and call to God, which makes individuals apostate and/or do bad things. I can think of 2 other point but don't want to get in to a fighting match with more conservative members of this forum. Many other issues I think up are related to societal issues of nations and not to Sikhi.
  5. From what I have come to see in history Sikhs have a right to play the victim in most cases. For centuries slaughtered by mughals, only to in the 20th century be gunned down by the English, Hindis, and Gurka, on many occasions. Don't forget in the US just recently an Islamophobe shot up a Gurdwara and a police captain's son punched a gramp in the face. Blue Star. Surprisingly though Sikhs have complained less about being the victims than let's say Jews or native peoples. It could be increasing around the youth because the whole victim mentality is out of control due to education.
  6. The Guru straight up said: It is the 3rd way AND IT IS SUPREME!!!
  7. Near the 25 and a half minute mark he says there is a report. It is not easy for me to find it on the SYUK site. Does anyone know a name or place I can take a look? I would like to read it.
  8. On eBay my good friend sikhonlinestore from UK is selling 5-ring chakar. As we know many kara are sold in 2,5,7,9,etc rings but I was wondering if anyone saw chakar in 9 rings for sale anywhere. I am very curious if such things exist.
  9. Handwriting analysis of Guru Gobind Singh proved that gurbani is from him. He wrote other texts and they all match up. Remember, there are still many documents from around the world that are at least old as the 16th century. If you claim he is lying and twisted the words of older Gurus you are completely wrong as the Gurus are 1 light. He is the same spirit as the previous Guru and he would not be lying as it is coming straight from the source.
  10. These are good points, but one is not capable of bringing these up in every home to every lay person. That is what I was talking about, we do not have to worry about the informed but the uninformed and the uninformable.
  11. Just because it is alcohol does not mean it is the kind people get drunk on. As far as I know you can name a product alcohol as long as it has the chemicals Carbon Hydrogen and Oxygen bonded in it. What is in cleaners is made to kill small organisms and can not intoxicate you.
  12. I should have included in my statement that the innocent majority are always ignored. If even 5% of a population is seen as detestable it will stain everyone in that population. Some examples would be: people hated the Germans even though Nazis were in small proportion, this is true of the Japanese and Russians also. Even in modern days enmity between Balak peoples. Still too remember how there was huge fear from westerners believing every Muslim was a suicide bomber yet few were/are? Here are those articles about going after young girls aka grooming: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-6238765/Child-groomer-abducted-girls-aged-11-13-jailed-two-years.html https://www.express.co.uk/news/uk/578079/Schoolgirl-raped-by-60-members-of-Asian-sex-gang-by-the-age-of-16-in-quaint-UK-town
  13. I believe I saw this same journalist do a story on blue star. The text in this is informative are the interviews. When it comes to anti-"asian" sentiments I must say people will not like Sikhs if they continue to go after very young girls when they are adult men OR murder in drug wars OR act like the idiots in music videos. It also spells bad news to Sikhi if we are ethnocentric. Remember Sant Christ's message is very revered and it spans all races of people. If we continue to be kalistani hardliners other desi people and westerners alike will be wary of the presence of Sikhs. On another note I wanted to make a topic about blue star now that I remember. I'm a bit fearful to. I am curious if the those who invaded were atheists or did they have bindi and ask chandi or ram for anything before they violated Amri. Should I make such a topic?
  14. I do not know the reason but I feel as if I should voice here. What is it do Sikhs have blind faith even in? Were the Gurus not alive, were battles no fought, do you not find liberation by living a good life and falling the dharma in bani? Yes I call out to God and he is there, but if you want to be an atheist and say God does not exist how is Sikhi de-legitimized? No, there is no blind faith.
