  1. There are examples in Gurbani stating that free will exists. There are also examples stating that free will doesn't exist. One only has to look for themselves. Choice is a very real option in life. I am choosing to reply to you out of my own volition. God isn't putting a gun to my head saying reply to akalifauj's post. All that has been written about pre-ordained destiny refers to the fact we have a choice in either following it or rejecting it. Hence why Guru Nanak refers to the many netherworlds and many heavenly realms, designed for varying levels of consciousness. One needn't take everything written in gurbani at face value. It takes a discerning mind to know what is true.
  2. Airy fairy? Amusing. I agree with you. However, one should leave ego mind out the equation knowing that anyone could be reading it.
  3. You. Yeah you. I've been perusing these forums for a while. And I must say the lack of intelligent thought is appalling. There are certainly some members like Harsharan000 who routinely post wise musings but are often ignored. Why mislead people when you are given this gift of being able to influence others? Don't write from your ego, write from your Higher mind and being a Sikh you should know how to get in contact with this Higher mind. That is all.
  4. You should follow your inner guidance, what can strangers on the internet know about your life path?
  5. Because, debates occur from the ego mind. Which is a hodge podge of mental nonsense. Even the Guru stated that all these so called debaters, priests, learned people are deluded and corrupted by Maya. So why debate with them? Maharaj selects his Sikhs, in this world you are either the real deal or just a pretender. Debating with a Muslim would get you nowhere, except maybe a trip to the drugstore for some Tylenol. They are just so rigidly ingrained in their beliefs, not an iota of spiritiuality is within these debaters. To understand me you need to understand the difference between the ego mind and the Universal mind. We don't need Sikh converts, we don't need Sikhi to grow in numbers, it is the Truth, and the Truth (capital T) will stand the test of time. As for why these religons exist, only Mahaakal knows... my guess is they come from the underworld. Lol
  6. You need to understand that life is a mixture of free will, Hukam and karma. Its akin to a river. Where you are placed into the river at birth is due to your past actions, by the Hukam you are chosen to take a certain path in life which by your own free will you can choose to recognize or not. That being said, free will does have a place in Sikhi, just not in the absolute sense. We are a mixture of our past acts and the Grace of God! I hope this helped.
