  1. vahegurujikakhalsa vahegurujikifateh I am a third year pharmacy student and I have found it really difficult to find summer placements and I am in the process of applying for pre reg but it is so competitive especially in Birmingham. 5. really good, but wheres the last bit to it? it finshes at pauri/verse 106, but there are 130 all together?
  6. try and help each other progress in your sikhi before the anand karaj, instead of useless stuff - and how do you help each other without meeting each other talking?
  7. I would say it should deffo be avoided. Even though you are 'engaged' you're not married, so it still doesnt look nice you two going out together. try and help each other progress in your sikhi before the anand karaj, instead of useless stuff.
  8. so then the same respect should be given to your gutka sahib? so you should do praksah and sukhasan of your gutka sahib? if there is no difference between dasam granth and guru granth sahib what was the need for guru sahib to give gur gaddi to guru granth sahib? that made no difference according to you? the passing of gur gaddi to guru granth sahib doesmt meant nything? if someone does parkash of their gutka sahib with so much prem-whats wrong with that?? haha not IF, they MUST, according to your beliefs. it would be compulsory.
  9. so then the same respect should be given to your gutka sahib? so you should do praksah and sukhasan of your gutka sahib? if there is no difference between dasam granth and guru granth sahib what was the need for guru sahib to give gur gaddi to guru granth sahib? that made no difference according to you? the passing of gur gaddi to guru granth sahib doesmt meant nything?
  10. so Guroo Gobind Singh Jee's Baani is lower than other Guroo Sahiban Kee Baani? for the ten millionth time, all gurbani is equal. jaap sahib is no higer or lower in status than jap jee sahib. however the whole of guru granth sahib together was given guru gaddi, not dasam granth. if they should be treated equal why didny guru sahib put dasam bani into guru granth sahib? or give guru gaddi to dasam granth? guru sahib himself says that guru gaddi is passed on to guru granth sahib, yet people still decide that theyd rather listen to others instead because they are "mahapurakh". gurbani in dasam granth should be respected as gurbani, but guru granth sahib is GURU. if as some people say, that all gurbani is guru, then every gutka, every poster with gurbani, every article with gurbani on it, should be respected just the same as guru granth sahib. manji sahib, prakaash, sukhasan, clean rumaleh, etc. also before assuming beleifs of akj uk or akj india, maybe you should do a little more research. no one is saying that gurbani in dasam granth is not gurbani or is lower than any other bani, it is simply being said that dasam granth was NOT given guru gaddi, guru granth sahib was. i dont see why people cant get that.

  14. Poh Sude Saptmee smaagam The love with which the invitation for the Poh Sude Saptmee smaagam was sent, resulted in a thirst within the Gursikh families to arrive at the Smaagam. Slowly the day would arrive and the Singhs and Singhnees would depart for Narnagvaal with enthusiasm. From Ludhiana, the Sangat would arrive at Kila Raipur Station. Old Baba NaraiN Singh jee would have arrived in the dark of night with a lamp. He would take the Sangat to his house which was near the station and the old couple would by hand serve the Sangat. Mata jee would wash the dishes, Baba jee would pump water for the Sangat's baths, and then he would lead the Sangat to Narangvaal. The Gurmukh friends would proceed singing the praises of the Husband-Lord and sing to please him. On the other side (in Narangvaal) there was no less thirst to meet. When the slightest sound of keertan could be heard, Bhai Sahib and other darshan-thirsty Gursikhs would go to meet the Jatha with a vaja and dholkee. The two groups would stand before each other and keertan filled with vairaag would echo. Bhai Saahib would sing such shabads as "DhooRee vich luDandRee sohaa(n) Nanak tai shah naalay" and others. An ardaas would be performed. After doing a dandaut, Fateh would be said. The Sangat would meet each other with teary eyes in way that is hard to describe. The way Gursikhs met was a very notable and unparalleled thing. In tight embraces, both sides would rattle the Khanda of Naam and by themselves, naam abhyaas would automatically make their souls blossom. Beginning of the Smaagam The Sangat was given a place to stay in nearby houses or the school. In the middle of the night, Gursikhs would bathe in their respective homes and then while doing nitnem arrive at Bhai Saahib's fortress-like house. In the big upper room of the house, the rain of Amrit Keertan would begin from Amrit Vela and echo till 11AM in a great bliss in the joy of Guru Saahib's birth. Then the Sree Akhandpaath would begin. Baoo Mul Singh jee would perform the ardaas which would last at least half an hour. He would use such piercing shabads in the ardaas that it was not possible for anyone to grow tired of it. Then the Akhand Paath Saahib began with Bhai Daleep Singh jee Fulaa(n)vaal. The paath began like a constant rain and it seemed as if all the baaNee had been memorised. All the Paathee Singhs seemed to do paath in one breath. No one could see them take a breath at all. With glowing faces, half-closed eyes, clasped hands, the paath continued in great colours. All the Akhand Paathees and Japjee Saahib Paathees were sitting near Guru Saahib. Near Bhai Daleep Singh sat Bhai Atmaa Singh Panjokharaa, Bhai Joginder Singh BaRoondee, Bhai Darshan Singh GaRguj, etc. Bhai Saahib was also sitting itn the Sangat. Sometimes Bhai Saahib would hit his KaRas together to join the beat of the paath, which was an unspeakable sight. The entire paath was conducted in a high pitched and sweet voice. The amazing and spiritual effects of Akhand Paaths were also seen here. On one side the listeners, wrapped in shawls and blankets would sit in deep meditation and on the other, the beloved, divinely imbued Pathees would recite paath in such wonderful ways that the arrows of BaaNee kept piercing the listeners' hearts. During the Akhand Paath, no other keertan smaagam took place. All were earning the true profit by listening to the Paath. The Amrit BaaNee had such an effect that no one grew tired or bored. Those who wanted to receive Amrit were especially encouraged to try and listen to the entire Akhand Paath from start to finish with attention, so that at the time of receiving Amrit they get the most grace from Guru Saahib. Langar No organisation of langar was better than at Narangvaal. Humble, and fully devoted tyaar-bar-tyaar sevadaars did seva here. They were simple and fearless Gursikhs with no other interest but service and they considered the Sangat to be the Guru's own form. They did everything to get the happiness of the Guru. All things needed for the langar were naturally available there, but do not say anything but naam or baaNee in the langar. Like Nitnem, Sukhmanee Saahib, Sodar, and other paaths happen at a gurdvara, all took place here in the langar, with ardaas. The main organisers of the langar were Bhai Naahar Singh jee and Bibi Anand Kaur jee. From Amrit Vela 3AM to 10PM at night, the langar continued without stop. After the Bhog of the Sree Akhand Paath Saahib, Bhai Saahib would begin the keertan in the enthusiasm for Sree Guru Gobind Singh jee's birth. At that time, Bhai Saahib would have a yearning to meet Dashmesh jee that would come out from his glowing face. Right away after the start of the keertan, the entire atmosphere would change and the darshan-thirsty souls would cry out from within in such a way that entire sangat would have a divine current race through them and would become drenched with tears of bairaag and savour the feeling. In this bairagee Sangat, Bhai Saahib was in such a glowing state that it seemed as if he was lost within the darshan of Dashmesh Pitaa Jee, and was singing every line of baaNee in the love of Kalgeedhaar jee. He would cry out: "Mohi giyaa bairaagee jogee. Ghat ghat kinguree vaiee…." From each line of this shabad, he would get darshan and see Patshaah upon his true throne. RaN Sabaaee At 7/8PM, the RaN Sabaaee would begin, which would last till day and then continue with the Divas Suhaylaa which would conlcude the following evening at Rehraas. This was 24 hour keertan. Sometimes it would happen that the keertan started on the morning of the Gurpurab would go till Sodar and then become attached to the RaN Sabaaee and Divas Suhaylaa. So like this, for even more than 36 hours the sangat would sit uninterrupted. The RaN Sabaaee would take place in the open yard. From the Langar veranda to the outter gates, the Sangat would sit according the words of baaNee: "Satsangat mil raheeyai madho jaisay madhum makheeraa" The Ran Sabaaee would be even more amazing than the amrit vela keertan. The effects of keertan and baaNee would become even deeper as they continued from the first smaagams (i.e. 1st keertan, akhand paath, nagar keertan, and amrit vela keertan). Some souls were so intoxicated that like a wind up clock, their Naam Khanda kept going and wouldn't slow down or stop. They were so senseless in this state that they would even have an effect on those around them. The keertan in its own amazing way would continue. All keertanee Gurmukh brother and sisters would enjoy bliss in the keertan from start to finish. No one had even the thought of asking for a turn to do keertan. No one had any need to stand or sleep. All were so immersed that no one had any awareness of their bodies. Only by breaking from the nectar can boredom, fatigue and sleep attack. Keertan was not recited for others but to please the Guru. No announcement took place during the keertan, and when the keertanee was to be changed, it happened through hand motions alone. A lot of Naam loving brothers and sisters arrived at the Narangvaal Smaagam. No flashy clothes or individuals with unfocussed consciousness were seen The absence of fatigue, and sleep and the ever-increasing immersion in divine colours has one important reason and that was that during the RaN Sabaaee and Divas Suhaylaa, for 24 hours, no Langar besides water was consumed. The enjoyment one can take from naam and baaNee without food cannot be enjoyed after eating and being totally full. After listening to keertan for 24 hours, after the bhog, the hunger for more keertan increased. Singhs would go to their homes and continue with more keertan or naam abhyaas. There was no question of sleep or hunger. All bodies were light and it felt as if they were floating on air. The echo of keertan would last for many days in each person's ears.
  15. Master jee had received amrit in childhood and so when he went to his job in JaRaanvala, the Village council saw him and his lifestyle and complained to the District Board Officer, “Why have you sent a Sikh (Singh Sabha member) to our village?” In those days the mahnts, Nimralas and Udasis had all made a fuss that the Singh Sabha were bent upon destroying the Sikh faith. They complained that the Singh Sabha would initiate socalled low castes with Amrit and include them in the Panth. In those days, amritdhaarees were generally called “Sikhs” In some places it is still this way. Soon however the village people changed their mind after seeing Master jee’s purity of conduct. Master jee would encourage his staff and the students to work hard and as a result his school began to achieve excellent academic results. The students that came in contact with Master jee all became good Gursikhs. Master jee’s own children relate how once they grew up a little, Master jee would wake up at 1AM. He would wrap himself in shawl or a blanket and then turn his attention to the Guru’s feet. For the next for or five hours he would be lost in meditation. N one knew why he spent so long in this state. Once, a very close sister in the Sangat asked Master jee “in such a long meditation, what do you read? Our nitnem paat is finished in an hour an hour and a half….” Master jee replied, “When I read BaaNee, my stubborn mind leaves the presence of Guru Sahib and goes about in different thoughts. When it returns, I commence the paat from where it had stopped. Because of this, it takes me such a long time.” Master jee would never share his inner experiences. From this, we learn that Master jee was firm in his believe that the paat of Nitnem should be done with the consciousness attached to the feet of the Guru, and in his presence. If Nitnem is not done with consciousness, it is only a physical act. Master jee would listen to entire ran sabaees while sitting in the attendance of Guru Sahib. His face would glow red. Once, while speaking to a very close friend, Master jee hesitatingly said that it is difficult to stay focused on outside keertan for long periods, keertan can also be heard inside. These are inner spiritual experiences that Gursikhs always refrain from speaking about. Old Singhs in the Jatha say that Bhai Sahib Randheer Singh used to listen to divine keertan and then coloured in those spiritual waves, used to do keertan himself. The raags all used to stand in his attendance with folded hands. The point is, that in a Gursikh’s life, by the grace of the Guru, that time does come when they may be engrossed in naam or keertan for many hours at a time. It is the Guru’s grace that Master jee stayed in this spiritual state till his final breaths. ******************************************************************************** ************************** We don’t’ know when Dr. Surinder Singh’s life took a turn and leaving worldly affairs and worldy comforts joined the Jatha like his father. He received amrit and became a full-fledged Singh, and engaged himself exclusively in naam and baaNee, leaving his job. He sustained himself on whatever little money he had earned. Dr. Surinder Singh jee never even dreamed of marriage. He was knowledgeable in homeopathy and gave Singhs free medicines. Different medicines were always in his pocket. At keertan smaagams, a crowd of Singhs was always surrounding him and he would give out medicines and also discuss Gurmat. Jathedaar Baoo Mul Singh jee used to say, "Bhai Surinder Singh jee is the Sant of 100 Sants". Whoever saw Veer jee’s high spiritual state could not help but be affected. Near the end of April 1962 I was organizing an akhaand paath saahib and ran sabaaee smaagam at Dhooree when Veer Suinder Singh came and stayed at our home a week before the smaagam at our request. Dr. Surinder Singh taught us how to serve the Singhs during the smaagam. He helped us grind flour for the akhand paath saahib, and also oats for the oatmeal. He organized the service of the paathee Singhs. He used to say that if there is an akhand paath saahib, five paathee singhs should leave their worldly work so they can constantly stay in the flow of GurbaaNee. By doing this, their consciousness is elevated. It now seems as if those who do seva at akhand paaths now do not understand the importance of these events. Whatever time is left after worldly work, one hour or maybe two, is used for rauls and the rest of the time is for work. It is for this reason that even after akhand paath saahibs, our consciousness is not affected. I remember that because of Veer jee’s orders, five paathee Singhs agreed to stay at our home. By good fortune the five paathees were all chardee kalaa Singhs: Sant Jvala Singh jee, Giani Daleep Singh jee, Master Joginder Singh jee, Bhai Amreek Singh jee and Capt. Sher Singh jee. Truly, listening and serving in that akhand paath saahib had a special ras to it. We should always try that for 48 hours five paathee Singhs should stay at the akhand paath place and do the sevaa of paath. There should be very little talk. Then watch what spiritual miracles take place. In 1962, Veer Surinder Singh jee was just starting to move his fingers on the vaja’s keys by divine inspiration and sang just a few shabads in Sangat. He had learned no raags. I listened to his keertan from 1962 onwards. His soul would blossom and the keertan would also cause an amazing bloom in all. He would be enraptured when doing keertan. Usually when there was a keertan smaagam, Veer jee would come in the divaan and bow before Guru Saahib and then sit at the very back. I used to tease him and call him a "back bencher", but he would just laugh and say nothing. We would especially go to find him at the back of divaans and in some corner and then bring him to the stage to have him sing a shabad. He used to say to me many times "I like to listen to keertan (more than perform it)".
  16. Bhai Sahib Arjun Singh & The Bazaar Incident Bhai Arjun Singh jee was a companion of Bhai Sahib Randhir Singh jee. Bhai Arjun Singh jee was a very great soul. When Bhai Sahib was arrested, he too was arrested by police and they asked him if he knew Bhai Sahib. His response was very interesting. He said, "what to talk about me, the three worlds know Bhai Sahib". The police released him after keeping him in detention for couple of days. He knew not what fear was. He worried not about anything. He stayed in the divine state of Naam all the time. One day, he was submerged in the divine colours of Naam that he wandered unintentionally to that part of the city where flesh trade takes place. He was young and handsome and as is the custom of flesh trade bazaar, the working women there started calling and seducing him. At that point Bhai Sahib jee got aware of his surroundings. He was not a normal person like Ajamal who was hit by Kaam when a young prostitute had just looked at him provocatively and this way lost his whole life to Kaam (Theres a Shabad About This). Bhai Sahib jee was a very accomplished Gursikh and right away he was hit by immense bairaag. In full bairaag, he in his loud piercing voice started doing kirtan. Imagine what chaos would have occurred at this bazaar at the sight of a Saint doing kirtan. The hearts that were burning with the fire of Kaam were extinguished in an instant. The women who just a moment ago were trying to seduce Sant jee, fell at his feet. Their hearts were purified by the effect of Gurbani kirtan. They beseeched and they implored to him to save them from Kalyug. Bhai Sahib Jee stayed oblivious and when they continued their imploring, Bhai Sahib Jee freed himself from them and hurriedly left the place by declaring that those will be saved who accept the amrit of Siri Dasmesh jee. Such was the character of Gursikhs of those times.

  19. You are given hukam by panj piayre to keep kakkars on you at all times, full stop. A small kirpan around your neck doesnt count, the kirpan needs to be on a gatra. I suggest you approach married couples about your question, personally i think its inappropriate to discuss it here.

  22. VaahegurooJeeKaaKhalsaa VaahegurooJeeKeeFaateeh Heres a story of an Hindu Man and an English women who become Rehitvan Khalsa .Really , aamazing and inspiring story.Take your time to read. Its worth while! *CONTRAVERSIAL PART OF THIS ARTICLE HAS BEEN EDITED OUT* When I hear this question ‘How did you come into Sikhi?’I find it cannot so casually be answered. In retrospect, I know it was predestined in this life. Gurusahib put me on this path despite great obstacles I had to face. I did not know the Punjabee language or culture in the least and my family cherished conservative Catholic values. What were my chances of receiving Amrit? My first darshan of a Singh occured when I was seven years old. He was climbing on a bus. I was transfixed by his radiant appearance even at a young age and prayed to God that I marry a handsome prince such as he. I had always been spiritually restless. I found no solace in the Bible and going to church every Sunday was just a ritual.I saw God in the trees as the sunlight filtered through the leaves and felt His breath in the breeze on the riverbank. Oh how I spiritually thirsted to know Him better. I studied Christianity, Hinduism, Islam, Judaism and VERY briefly Sikhism. As I brooded over religious texts a thought out of somewhere came in my mind.”The day you are born you are that much closer to death”. My melancholy and longing often overwhelmed me and I wept often.I was spared bad sangat from the beginning.I was not popular and was a quiet studious student with above average grades…what you would call a nerd now. I missed the LSD drug hippie culture that was in full swing in the 70’s. I never developed bad habits and spent my evenings in the library. While my classmates were getting drunk, stoned and pregnant I got beaten up by a boy simply for not being ‘in’ enough with this crowd. Those were painful times. I had strange dreams of being chased on horseback through dark forests with only the moon as my guide the ennemy gaining on me. I would wake up in a sweat.I did not till much later have revealed to me what this meant. Singhs know exactly what I am talking about. The years passed. I was still spiritually unsettled. I read voraciously usually about history and religion. I read the Bhagwad Gita and some of Kabir’s works. My husband was a sincere devotee of Shivjee and Durga and had had darshan of both. He was more into bhagtee and less into the complicated rituals of Hinduism. He couldn’t stand the trickery of Brahmins. He could see through them.He was very honest and honorable. We went to India and went to a Radhasoami Dehra because his former professor who did seva there invited us there. I could not understand why people would prostate themselves as their ‘Guru’ drove by in a Mercedes Benz. God was the highest in my mind. We attended a few of his lectures and he quoted many lines from Guru Granth Sahib and I read some of the poignant writings of Meera. These stirred the longing within me to a fever pitch. We were granted an audience with the ‘Guru’.His appearance was that of a Sikh, so beautiful. In pain, streaming tears, I begged Him to show me how I could walk the path to God. Instead he gave me a series of tasks to accomplish then we would need to see him again in a few months and he might grant me the Mantr. My world crashed. His words and composure told us he was not the real Guru. We left and never looked back. Upon returning to L.A. my husband was looking for a job. On the way to a job interview, on Vermont Ave, he saw a Nishan Sahib. We started going there. The sangat was warm and my heart lept as I had darshan of several of those beautiful Singhs. I could not understand much but loved the keertan and the Karah Prassad. We were in the sangat when a very old saint Baba Gyan Singh Johalwale and several Singhs came with him. He was very quiet. We were invited to a sangat member’s house where he and his entourage were staying. My husband was curious to speak to him. I was shy and stayed back. Babajee granted him an audience. After hearing my husband speak a few minutes, he locked eyes with him for quite a while and told him point blank: “Jagdish you will have amrit tomorrow. Your name will be Jagdish Singh”. My husband was stunned and spooked by what this old gentlemen was saying. He had no idea what that was at all. His concept of amrit was receiving ‘Ganga Jal’. He pointed to me ‘She will have to go with you’. My husband was translating this to me and for some unknown reason I smiled so broadly (the soul knows what the mind does not).Babajee immediately stifled an objection that I was unsuitable as I was a Westerner by turning and saying “She is his wife.” We obeyed, quite unprepared for what was to come.My husband had learned the Punjabi alphabet in grade school but never used it since. His language was Hindi. We presented ourselves for amrit. No one had told my husband not to shave and he did so just so he would be neat for taking amrit. He is probably the most clean-shaven candidate in history. I left all jewelry at the door. We entered and in our presence the amrit was prepared reading the Panj Banee. As I was receiving the amrit I saw a flash of light and something changed. Some inexplicable power had surged in my body. I was so charged and so filled with joy.Since I had such a hard time reciting Fateh after each chula, I received a lot of Amrit. So did my husband. We were given instructions which my husband translated. We were told to recite the gurmantr ‘Waheguru’ as much as possible and learn to recite Nitnem. Eating meat was out of the question. We were told the rehet was identical for both man and woman so when they told my husband to wear dastar and that for me it was not necessary I felt this letdown. I felt this was not quite right. But then I complied without question. Two years later, we met Babajee’s nephew. He was a simple nice Singh. He told us that Babajee had told him our taking the Amrit was not a random event. Babajee knew Jagdish for the past three lives. Jagdish had done a lot of seva of saints and devotees in his past lives and that he had heard a call from Gurusahib to come here with Singhs to make sure these two souls received Amrit. These 2 would become very staunch Singhs. Then having delivered his message, he left. We were at a loss for words. From the moment we were blessed with the Amrit, a breathtaking whirlwind of changes occured. There was also controversyand contention. We were very vulnerable. We were unwitingly the center of attention of the sangat as we both were from outside the Punjabee culture. The Granthee did not like saints, was pro Jhatka, and especially disliked a couple of Singhs who week after week tirelessly did Asa di Vaar and keertan. He despised them because they did it free and this undercut his business.Bhai Manmohan Singh jee was his name and he took us under his wing. He fed us Gurmat and Gubanee. He did keertan with the depth of his soul. His son gave me a tape of blissfull keertan that sent me somewhere.I did not understand Gurbanee by mind but it pierced me like an arrow when I walked in one day and could not stop crying having heard the Hukam read that day ‘Mere man prem lago har teer…’. I lost it when I read the translation later and in the library. I realized that Gurbanee was alive and had the power to permeate even a dense mind such as mine with its inherent spiritual scent. Gurbanee I experienced first hand was truly the Guru. I stayed locked in the library for a very long time that day.So much was happening so fast. One day we went to Yuba City with the sangat. When I walked in, a Bibi with an enormous dastar approached me and asked we ‘Where is your dastar?’. I was shy and did not know what dastar meant…..’Your turban?’. I was filled with joy as this Bibi untied one of her layers of dastar and wrapped it on my head. It felt as if my Guru was wrapping it with His own hands by His own command. I was to be tested severely from all directions for keeping it. I dressed simply. Jewelry, fancy clothing and fashion had lost their taste and meaning. My husband was wondering what was happening to his wife. I left walking one night walking towards the Gurdwara crying after being after a hot arguement about dastar and started repeating by voice ‘Waheguru’ each step I took. Soon something wonderful happened and Waheguru started coming by breath and I don’t remember much of the walk to the Gurdwara. When I got there I sat there just doing simran. Somehow though I instinctively knew this gift would be short-lived if I did not seek surrender and the blessings of the Panj Peeare in front of Gurusahibjee. In those early days it was very confusing for us. One side said one thing the other said something else. We were stuck in a tug of war.My husband was more influenced by the Granthee. I placed more faith in what Bhai Manmohan Singh was saying. In a moment of weakness we breached our code of conduct listening to the Granthee by eating meat. On the first bite, I spit it out without eating it and told my husband not to continue….we were doing something very wrong. He initially did not. Later after talking about it some more begged Waheguru for forgiveness and vowed to go in front of Panj Peeyare. My husband was very irritated at some point and decided to take the questions of contention to the Guru himself. We would settle certain points of contention once and for all. I was begging Gurusahib to show us the Truth with clasped hands and tears rolling down my face. I was at first afraid then decided to submit to the Guru’s decision come what may. My husband did Ardaas to Gurusahib and placed folded pieces of paper in a bowl of water. Those that would still remain afloat the next day would be the Hukam. He asked Gurusahib "EDITED DUE TO FORUM RULES" The next morning in Amritvela time my husband was awakened. He had had a vision of Sach Khand. There was an incredible sound of keertan filling the Universe and he heard the voice of a high-pitched voiced keertanee with small glasses and brownish complextion but very bright and red. All the Khalsa were wearing dastaar and bana (men and women) and sitting on a dais was Guru Nanak Devjee with a flowing white beard and even more glowing face. My husband fell weeping to the feet of the Guru and he said: “You don’t need to cry anymore for you have come to your house.” Having seen this vision he did Prakash of Gurujee and saw a globe of light eminating from there. A voice said clearly:” EDITED DUE TO FORUM RULES.” He was overwhelmed and as I entered the room he fell to my feet and cried:”I am so sorry.” I had him stand up and breathed a sigh of relief. This trial was over and I humbly thanked Gurujee for showing us the truth. This would galvanize our faith from that way forward. No one would tell us otherwise. My husband described the keertanee to Bhai Manmohan Singh. When he showed him the picture of Bhai Randhir Singh he told him this was the person. We had not seen pictures of Bhai Sahib yet at that time do Bhai Manmohan Singh was stunned. Shortly afterwards we did appear in front of Panj Peeyarey and detailed our transgressions. We were terrified as so many who interviewed to serve as one of the Panj came out weeping and wailing. About 65 people were rejected for one reason or another. Two elderly ladies found suitable were in the Panj peeare and one was Peredhaar. Our knees shook as we approached Gurusahib for what we had done. The atmosphere was electric. The walls were pulsating with Naam. Naamdrir was done here. And like a current it just kept going. This was very different and much more powerful then the first time. It was hard to speak for a few days. One Singh who did not know my husband grabbed him in his arms and started crying as ifm meeting a loved one after many years. “We were separated at the Sarsa river. So much was lost as we crossed. The current was too strong. I tried to hang on to you but you were swept away by the current.” This old Gursikh, normally a sober naam abhyassi type, wept like a child and both were locked in an embrace of Simran for a very long time. My husband has not been able to enter running water his whole life. Everything I have written here is the Truth. The wonders never cease coming from the Guru. The Guru lends a hand to His bhagat along this spiritualm path. One receives amrit after living many lives. Khande ki Pahul Amrit has been depreciated by some. Pride of intellect and cleverness impede progress. One who goes with a clean heart and humility in front of the Guru to receives this wonderful gift is sure to grow and accomplish the spiritual tasks set forth by the Guru. Anyone out there who has love for the Guru will leave his or her ‘mann’ at the door and give it all to the Guru. dassan dass Vaheguru ji ka khalsa,Vaheguru ji ki fatheh !
