  1. Swami Ram Dev on the Aastha channel recovered from paralysis from the neck down just through yoga. His practices have proven to help thousands around the world, sometimes bringing people back to full health, having suffered from potentially fatal diseases. I don't know if you want to believe in it or not - but perhaps it is worth a try. If you are in the UK, I believe he is doing a lot of classes in London somewhere during the month of July. He claims that even if you don't believe in it - just following his yoga excercises will still be of benefit to you. If he can cure someone from diabetes, then I'm sure he'd be able to help your father to feel better perhaps? Of course there is never going to be a cure for the inevitable, but I would definately say that all these people's advice should be followed to ensure that your father is atleast happy and feeling good for himself. Do what you can, do your duty, and leave the rest to WaheguruJi! Keep faith! Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji ki Fateh
  2. nevereless, it should not have been promoted or distributed in that way, this work is far higher than clubs and bhangra gigs. But if it was originally on a bhangra album, how else should they have promoted it? And what if something positive came off it by catching people's attention about something other than songs about women and alcohol? I'm not saying let's play these songs in clubs and pubs, I'm just saying look at the positive side of what has happened! Everything happens for a reason to me Besides, I still think that is in the past - the tracks created for this cause are no longer on bhangra albums anymore, they are exclusively found in the Shaheedi series. The work is more focussed now and is never played at Bhangra gigs/clubs.
  3. You say it was originally released on a bhangra album. I think that is explanation enough. It's not like they're still doing it.
  4. That I cannot believe. The beginning of the first album clearly states that the people behind production would appreciate it if it was not played in any clubs or gigs. And Tigerstyle are dedicated to the cause they are making the tracks for - I doubt they'd go against their own word. Perhaps what was heard in the clubs you're referring to were samples that in the AK47 tune that have been used in several other songs?
  5. my family is landing there on friday. Thank you. who's indira gandhi a hero for? Jagdish Tytler? OK, if you live in India, then ask people that question at indira Gandhi airport. mehtab singh, i wish there were more sikhs like you. I really think you're misunderstanding what I mean. I am not saying I live in India, nor am I trying to judge anybody who doesn't live in India. But the point is it's pointless trying to dictate who it should be named after since the people who are in control in India are dictating it themselves. And I did not say Indira Gandhi is a hero. I'm saying there are 2 sides to the story, and the reality is if you do something to oppose the decision already made, there's going to be another handful of people who are going to get angry. Why cause more trouble for? People of India don't know what the government has been hiding from them - they are ignorant to that and it is not their fault. Just because they see an airport named Indira Gandhi International Airport everyday doesn't mean they support the slaughter of innocent civilians. I don't think every single Indian in India is that evil, do you? As Manchester Sikhi rightly pointed out, there is nothing to gain by renaming an airport - that is such a materialistic thing to do. Especially with all that finance involved for it (I didn't think of that, so thanks for pointing that out Manchester Sikhi!) Besides, do we really need to name buildings after people in order to remember them? Aren't our elders' teachings about our history enough?
  6. With all due respect, naming it after Guru Tegh Bahadur ji is not neutral in everyone's eyes. There's 2 sides to the story, and there's people supporting both sides unfortunately. Realistically speaking, what you're saying doesn't seem viable. I agree about renaming it, but you're pointing out that it should be renamed to the opposition of Indira Gandhi. That's still going to be wrong in SOME people's eyes - what about what they want? Perhaps you'd have more say in the situation if you still lived in India. What I'm trying to say is simply this - why should the airport be named after anyone? Why not have a neutral name, eg after the place it is built in? That's why we have names of airports like Birmingham International Airport The name of an airport doesn't have to reflect on a great person, with whom not everyone agrees (including Indira Gandhi). And Kucha Singh .. as for "Chatrapati Shivaji International Airport" after Shiv Ji, and you not finding it neutral for the Muslims who live there, do you think Muslims would find an airport named after a Guru neutral? And what about who made the airport and who they want to name it after? No offence intended to anybody here once more, but most of you do not seem as neutral as you think you are! Apologies if I have offended anybody - this is purely my personal opinion and what I see.
  7. Why can't it be renamed with a more neutral name? So that nobody is offended and we're all equal.
  8. I just came across a comment not long ago that it's wrong to mix bhangra-type/hip hop-influenced/rap type music with the message of the past shaheedi albums.. and that some people just listen to it for the beat! What do you guys think? So far, I think it's a good way to get a younger audience's attention IF they understand the meaning of it after hearing it too! I was just listening to the earlier albums you see, and most of the songs sounded like instrumentals off rap tunes  Quite disappointed! (Although they do seem to have improved over the years too)
  9. I didn't realise that not listening to a song that drops a swear word every 30 seconds, degrades a woman's place in soceity, and talks of sex and nothing else meaningful made you "an extreme Sikh". No one's saying don't listen to music. Not listening to dirty music however is the same as saying don't endulge yourself in dirty activities that carry no meaning and degrade you as a person. I think this is a correct way of life for any person, regardless of whether they're even Sikh or not. I love music, almost every form of it - classical, Hindi, bhangra etc etc, even rap music with meaningful lyrics. But when there is excessive swearing or general DIRT, then I don't like it anymore! Music is a knowledge and something that I believe should be used with some respect as a form of expression.
  10. It's working for most people but not for all.. the samples of the music have been posted up by someone else tho in the general part of the this message board I think
