  1. For sure to reach sachkhand, liberation etc one needs a realised master/guru to guide them. Without a Guru nothing is possible
  2. Before doing bad we think twice; • ‘I could be expelled from school’ • ‘I could be sacked from work’ • ‘I could go to prison’ • ‘I could be punished in hell’ • ‘I could be placed on quality control by admins’ ? Naam contains nothing but happiness, so we do we think twice to meditate on naam? ? Isn’t it a no brainier that simro simar simar sukh pavo? ?
  3. For your context, I’d say take the kirpan off for safety of you and your opponent, like a duty of care. You know it’s a friendly, safe environment for practicing your skills. Taksali kirpan even in its cover are really sharp btw. And if that time comes where you need to use force as last resort, then full on angry tiger mode bro ?? Restore peace, put the skills to use edit - tiger emoji should look more scary ??
  4. Saacha naam means sach da naam. Name of the true one i.e Vaheguru ji
  5. You are working hard by honest means to provide for your family and following Sikhi too. That's beautiful, god bless you ? The gatra could be worn around your waist (instead of over shoulder) with kirpan tucked into your trousers? (Some people do this for sports). Wearing a sheath on your belt sounds like a comfortable and secure option too
  6. A physical shop / retail will be successful in the coming times if it can offer an 'experience'. Coming out of lockdown people want experiences. Apple stores are good example, to visit one is an event in it's self. It's the 'buzz', the atmosphere in the stores that I look forward to experience again. If you're just selling products it's better to do it online. Even so, through channels like Amazon, Instagram & FB marketplace. I used to work in a retail business (office based role at the HQ) with a huge warehouse onsite. A company turning over £1M+ sales daily. They had a dedicated section in the warehouse just to fulfil Amazon orders. Everyone knows Amazon became big, but to visit a company's warehouse and see how they had to adapt to benefit from the 'amazon revolution' is really fascinating.
  7. @Arsh1469 I can relate more to how you feel than any other user. Hours of hard work go into writing posts to encourage others and you don't ask for anything in return. Then individual users inject their negativity. If our post is not good, why don't they write their own post for the sangat? Anyway, well done for taking your time to share valuable things with others. I pray you will be rewarded for your efforts ? Bro carry on studying gurbani and learning for your personal journey, for your own bliss. I think just wish people of this forum well and leave them to do their fighting and arguing.
  8. I just read this. Basically I want to give you a hug, this is so cute! ??? I / we all forget you are young because you speak wise words

  11. Kirtan of current generation - Bhai Davinder Singh Ji Bodal
  12. Bhai Dilbagh & Gulbagh Singh are 2 gems from our history of classical kirtan performers. Their family have a great history behind them. During time of Sri Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji there was a Muslim family very talented in raag but living in poverty. They were surviving on donations people gave after hearing their music. Time came that they received darshan of 6th Guru Ji. After hearing of their poverty Guru Sahib provided a written copy of Asa Di Vaar and asked them to come and sing this bani the following morning. The family’s faith was such they went and memorised the bani then spent whole night practicing. After they performed kirtan, Guru Sahib gave bachan that as long as you keep singing Gurbani heaps of money will be left in-front of you! Kirtan continued down the generations, recent generation were Bhai Dilbagh & Gulbagh Singh. (One of the current generation is Bhai Davinder Singh Bodal). Seen here Bhai Gulbagh Singh on Left, Bhai Dilbagh Singh on Right:
  13. This is God's leela (play) How boring would it be if there was no randomness in life? This randomness will become spiritual on the journey of naam simran Randomly darshan can happen, simran/kirtan/katha can happen inside, visions can come. When it happens don't analyse, just enjoy But even if worldly random memories or dreams come - laugh and say 'wow' - don't over analyse
  14. Best advice is be careful not to get mis-guided. There are too many YouTube Sikhi preachers today who haven’t got a clue. It’s normal to feel sensation, it’s also normal to search for answers outside. But everything is inside you, this is journey of finding it within Begin meditation/simran with a few minutes jaap of Mool mantar focusing on seeking blessings of Guru sahib to be ang sang and guide you
  15. Finally thread gets back on topic ?? Indeed Bhai Raghbir Singh Ji was a householder. I highly recommend reading his book bandagi nama. Punjabi audiobook available here: http://gurbaniupdesh.org/multimedia/listing.php?q=f&f=%2F01-Audio+Books%2FBandgi+Nama Maybe 1 day I might reveal on this forum just why this person is so special ?
  16. Well done brother for asking about this, it takes confidence to talk about this. Kaam is required for god’s creation to flourish. Attraction between male & female = off-spring Guru Nanak Ji gave a really simple & powerful teaching how to control the mind; Look on others (women) good. View elders as mothers, equal age as sisters, youngers as daughters Getting attached with kaam is indeed bad; he kaamang, narak bisraamang ~ oh kaam, you drag people (who get attached with you) to hell It’s energy from base chakar called mhuladhara, it’s too powerful to fight. If energy builds up it needs to ‘be released’ - fine do it. Exercise & sports will release built up energy too and good stress relief. Ultimately Naam Simran takes you beyond kaam pleasures. Basically don’t get addicted to it, keep on praying, keep good sangat

    Career advice

Aim for the stars ? Sache dilo ardaas (pray from heart) then full trust in Guru sahib. If your wanting doesn’t happen something better is planned
  18. Religious pictures Shred the paper then recycle Paper containing Gurbani Ardaas & Agan bhet in a respectful way - check calendars they can contain the odd pangati, or ikonkar even. - Also dispose wedding invitations which contain gurbani(!)? same method
  19. One day soon I will open this forum and see comment from yourself; that Sangat Ji today I was blessed with amrit di daat ?
  20. Motivation will come from remembering who you are. You’re a daughter of Sikhs. We’re the hardest working people, the highest achievers, we have the kindest hearts in serving humanity. Whatever Sikhs do, they do it better than the rest. Watch the film Kesari - it will motivate you Study, pray and also schedule time to relax. Basically - you’ve got this! Get those brilliant grades and make us proud! ??
