  2. I'm in the process of looking for a phone (pda) and i'm in a huge debate with myself in which one would be best. Originally I was thinking about getting the Blackberry Curve since I've heard good things about it, and also since I got one of the old blackberry's myself. Then I was told about the HTC Touch from a friend of mine, who also has it. Seems like a cool phone, its touch screen and has a lot of programs/gadgets that come with it. But, I also know someone who has the Palm Treo, which is also touch screen. Now, I'm not that knowledgeable about technology and all that stuff, so for those of you who are more technologically gifted please share ur input; also, those of you who have these phones and would like to share experience, please do so. Or generally, if you think other pda's that i haven't listed would be better, u can list those too. Thanks in advance. Vaheguru Jee Ka Khalsa, Vaheguru Jee Kee Fateh!
  3. okay... u caught me... the last few years i've had the desire to have darshan of the holy BBQ Guru!
  4. oh.. well.. if they're based on what we search... what are we searching??? :gg: :umm: btw.. i didn't type anything in the search... i jus said that i saw that at the top where it says 'google ads' when i logged in..
  5. I just randomly decided to look up at the top of my screen where the google ads are and i saw somethin a lil off... nothin x-rated or netin... but kinda made me think, what kinda things are we actually discussing here? for those of u who don't know, (i think) the google ads at the top are based on things that we discuss on the board... words that are typed in posts are randomly put into the ads or whatever... u know the quality of our posts are going down when...:

    Kachi Bani

I always thought "kachi bani" was that which was referred to writings (or "bani") written by other people and being proclaimed as GURU'S Bani...
  8. I Admit... ottawa got SPANKED... see y'all on the golf course!
  9. (i think) its talking about Sangat... stay away from bad/negative sangat.. and it doesn't only refer to the 'physical' aspect of sangat.. its also 'internal' (i.e. maya... kaam.. krodh.. lobh... etc...) -- i.e. Kusangat.... negativity only breeds negativity... when u are around negativity it will affect ur spirituality negatively... stay around positive sangat.. people who will help ur spirituality.. people who will benefit u in life... people who are a good influence on u... the rest... will jus weigh down ur mind, body, and soul...
  10. If Guru Sahib wanted u dead... u'd be dead.. i think the real question is how much time/effort do you spend serving Guru Sahib to begin with? I've heard so many times people say "i'm losing faith" or "Guru Sahib doesn't love me" or whatever other excuses they can come up with... but people rarely put much (if any) effort at all doing seva, simran, sangat, bani, etc... the whole world is trapped in duality, and we're always lookin for an easy way out... what you need to do is find urself some good and positive sangat, which will help you on the path to Gursikhi... and you'd be surprised what wonders it can do... i know sometimes it can be hard when so many things are going wrong in our lives... but Guru Sahib says "Dukh Daroo, Sukh Rog Bhaeaa" ... we should be at a state in our mind where we even THANK Guru Sahib for the "bad" things that happen in our life... Guru Sahib Says to Akaal Purakh "Tayraa Keeaa Meettha Laagai, Har Naam Padaarath Naam Maangai" ... Naam is the only sustenance in this Universe... once we realize that... nothing will go 'wrong' ..
  11. haven't posted anythin in a while... since its exam time for many people, thought it might put a smile on their face
  12. ^^ Thats true... but that shouldn't hold us back from at least TRYING to establish SOMETHING (whether separate state or not) which gives Sikhs the same equality as other groups... we can't just sit here and say 'whats the point when our own people are corrupt' (even though that is pretty true) while thousands of our brothers and sisters HAVE been and are STILL being tortured, raped, murdered, assaulted, discriminated against etc... separate state or not, every peoples on the face of the Earth deserve to be treated with respect and dignity, and every people should be allowed an open voice to express their concerns without being prosecuted ... some believe by having a separate state, that would be achieved... regardless, we should not jus sit here and 'down' the whole khalistan thing ESPECIALLY if we're not doing anything else to make the situation better/help the situation... that includes me too..
  13. Ah, the joys of living in a small southern town! When Grandma Goes To Court Lawyers should never ask a Mississippi grandma a question if they aren't prepared for the answer. In a trial, a Southern small-town prosecuting attorney called his first witness, a grandmotherly, elderly woman to the stand. He approached her and asked, 'Mrs. Jones, do you know me?' She responded, 'Why, yes, I do know you, Mr. Williams. I've known you since you were a boy, and frankly, you've been a big disappointment to me. You lie, you cheat on your wife, and you manipulate people and talk about them behind their backs. You think you're a big shot when you haven't the brains to realize you'll never amount to anything more than a two-bit paper pusher. Yes, I know you.' The lawyer was stunned. Not knowing what else to do, he pointed across the room and asked, 'Mrs. Jones, do you know the defense attorney?' She again replied, ' Why ye s, I do. I've known Mr. Bradley since he was a youngster, too. He's lazy, bigoted, and he has a drinking problem. He can't build a normal relationship with anyone, and his law practice is one of the worst in the entire state. Not to mention he cheated on his wife with three different women. One of them was your wife. Yes, I know him.' The defense attorney nearly died. The judge asked both counselors to approach the bench and, in a very quiet voice, said, 'If either of you idiots asks her if she knows me, I'll send you both to the electric chair.'

  18. yeh.. sure.. why not... but remember u gotta comb ur kesh everyday too... cornrolls cannot be taken out.. once they're in, they're in for life... otherwise u gotta shave ur head and start from scratch... cornrolls cannot be combed... therefore, they are a no-no... (unless they're already in from before a person takes amrit - which, in that case, there's nothing that can be done) oye... tu baija raam naal on a serious note... there's nothing 'gurmat-ly' wrong with braiding in itself... as long as 1. ur head is covered and 2. u are able to comb ur kesh everyday anyways... and as long as u aint tryna pull no sean paul look or something hahaha...
