  1. kya hal hai? Mai bhoot khush ho - I am back!

  2. If I pass its 2 weeks. If not then its AUG. Everyone pray I pass first time cos I don't want to tell ppl I failed cos I was addicted to sikhsangat!
  3. aww k. I shud work. I got up at 6am today to start revision. I sat down for 10 mins and then thought lets eat food. I ate breakfast slowly singing to myself....and washed my clothes too....then I thought its hot lets shower. So I spent about 1 hour messing in the bath. Now its 11am. So I start looking at heart murmurs. I write heart murmurs on my sheet and thats as far as it got. It becomes 12 so I go and have lunch. During lunch I tell myself heart stuff is making me feel ill and so I will do all the lung things and do heart later. I come back and make my bed all compfy and sit with the lung book. I read a page and then decide I want to go back to the heart. So i log on the internet to listen to the heart murmurs. I end up thinking oh lets see whats happening on sikhsangat. Btw its 2pm now. I watch a few youtube videos and my friend sent me this shabad 'teri bhagati no choroh' so i listen to that 10times and then its 6pm. I am like damn. SO i decide I will have dinner and start work on blood instead cos heart and lung stuff is making me mess about. So i log online to do the blood stuff. i decide I shud just peek at sikhsangat and then I think wow lets stay and post more. NOW its like 8pm. I have done no work all dayother than writing heart murmurs on my sheet. Also my friend is coming in 30mins so thats my whole day wasted. I am gonna ask S1ngh to block my account cos this is getting to be a joke......I get up really early to do work but just waste time here....dunno why I am telling u. Feel stressed......deffo not coming back till Aug, no matter wat!!!!!!!
  4. Last bit did not show - thanks for sending to me!

  5. SUNNNNNNNNY!! So glad this is you....hope u not too stressed cos u not reply to my texty. I watched this funny video on youtube. I will send it to u once exams are over. It made me laugh so much and I like the teri bhagati shabad so much. I keep listening to it :D

  6. aww shame on revolutionary. He doesn't reply to me either. Its cos he is gonna be a big dr....thats why he does not care about little ppl like u and me!!!! But I'll be there for u peacemaker :D

  7. thts a gd idea......I never knew they do they do plastic in America. In England they do those metal taals and metal cups.
  8. Yeah. I need to get back to work. Its really hot!! But deffo try it out. I'll try to give you a more detailed of how I do it. 1. Take clothes off, shake them for hair and then look at all the dirty/smelly marks. 2. Put Daz powder into my bucket and add warm water to allow Daz to dissolve. 3. Add clothes to Daz and scrub dirty marks using Daz and leave it soaking for 30-45 mins (If your clothes are dirty you will need to leave for longer). In this time I shower, pray etc! 4. Come back after 30-45mins and use the green soap to scrub like proper Indian style! (dunno what green soap is called but you buy it at the desi shops) 5. By now all the scrubbing is done so you add water and knead together and then rinse the water. Repeat kneading adding water and rinsing until ALL water runs clean. For me its about 5 cycles but if you put too much detergent it takes ages for water to run clean but with practise you will know how much to add. Also note you have to make it part of your daily routine ie shower/pray in the waiting time to make it 10mins! And you need to get washing up gloves to protect your hands and a bucket to put the clothes into but if you already have all that then away you go! Also another thing. Make sure you wash your clothes everyday. If you let them pile up then it takes twice as long to wash. Also wash your clothes as soon as they get dirty or smell. If you don't wash your clothes when they are dirty and keep wearing them then it will take twice as long to wash! When I first started it was tough. I found it really hard because I was still in washing machine mode ie I would pile my clothes and then wash them! But now I learnt this way I wud not go back to washing machines. I actually now find it strange that people don't wash their clothes everyday....or how they don't wash it properly or how they leave dirt to pile up. Molst people seem to be washing without thinking ie washing on a certain day only when in fact you should listen to your clothes and wash them as soon as they are dirty. But yea deffo start practising cos you learn so much about how to keep clean in everyday life. Eg before I used to get a lot of stuff like pen marks and felt tips or paint on my clothes and I never used to care so much cos I never had to spend hours washing it but now I can do paintings without getting paint on me....its better for my clothes and makes me more perfect in everyday tasks. Hope thats helpful. Back to work
  9. I liked your list. To be honest, that would probably be the hardest for me to follow. How long does it take you to do all that, if I may ask? Thanks! Not that long cos I wash my clothes everyday. So none of this 'store' them for the weekend. Basically I normally only have a kachera which I change everyday and sometimes my top or trousers. So what I do is soak my clothes every day in the morning when I change them. I then go for a shower, do prayers etc which takes about 30mins. After I am done I go to the soaked clothes and scrub them for 5 mins and then I take another 5 mins making the water run clean. In total it only takes 10mins to wash them! Also its really good for your clothes cos they get washed properly (machine doesn't know where to scrub so it just tosses them for an hour which is an estimate time of how long it shud take for them to get clean. Most of the time they are not clean out - just scented.....Also people who machine wash leave their clothes lying around getting smelly and so its more difficult to clean!) But best of all is its a fact that handwashing makes your clothes last longer. I reckon anyone can handwash. Doesn't take too long. 10mins is how long most people spend listening to a song!
  10. 1. Eat fresh food so less is wasted on costs for packaging ready made meals. 2. Try not to use a washing machine (it consumes alot of water) Hand wash ure clothes instead! Its not that hard, I handwash all my clothes! 3. Try to wash with water at normal room temperature - its healthier 4. Put on your plate only as much as you can eat. This way you have no left overs! 5. If your cold wrap another layer or use a hot water bottle. Don't walk around in a T shirt with the heating on full blast 6. Re-use tubs/cardboard boxes or bags etc 7. Throw all waste in recycable places, your aim is for nothing to go into the 'bin'. Ie paper including envelopes, junk mail in a recyling bin. Put left over food on compost heap. All plastic packagings in the plastic bin. 8. Ultimately look at where all your products came from....could you have bought a recycable one. Shared Earth do alot of 100% recycled goods. Its one of my favourite shops. http://www.sharedearth.co.uk/ 9. Try to not waste lots of energy on electrical games/computers/music/tv....so be bit more electric/waster/gas energy conscious. 10. Finally eat Organic!
  11. I don't want to explain it. Ask Jangal Da to explain - he probably knows more. I really need to go....don't write anymore comments on my profile cos u make me come back and check the forum!! I then waste a good 2 hours writing pointless shitty stuff. After 2 weeks I will be okay but not at the moment. I feel very stressed. If you gave me the chance I could murder someone at this moment in time. Don't reply to this post.....BYE.
  12. Peacemaker ure gonna give the game away!! I like playing with sher-e-moreau!!!!! He's already onto me. He has checked my profile(s) numerous times. I'm just waiting for the penny to drop. Anyways sher-e-moreau....puhlease. Let's be honest you didn't know what hit you when I started - you had to get your mate singhstah involved! I didn't mind. However suddenly you stopped replying. You actually went offline and I got bored waiting. I then edited my post and told you I was leaving cos my sister was okay. I know you tried to commence again but it was too late, my decision was made. Anyways no one shud live off their past success'.....lets hear your brbrbrbruaaaaah :D PS - Peacemaker I will PM you about ure 'layngitis'...hope its not an excuse to hide ure BRUAAAAAHHHHHH. lol And with that I am over and out...oh and Jangal Da to be honest Soho Road Gurdwara don't let me do Kirtan there. Only men allowed last time I checked (8 yrs ago) and you have to have taken Amrit..so I dunno how they wud have allowed Malkit Singh....either way I feel that if Malkit Singh really cared about this then he wud have easily released Kirtan tracks
  13. Ok since u suggested it I think u shud put up ure recording up first!! Then we can a public sikhsangat voting system.... PS - I bet Jangal Da, Peacemaker and Sher-e-moreau are gonna not post a recording. I already knew you were 'All talk, no action' people. So I win!
  14. Considering his father-in-law sits on a gurdwara commitee I am pretty sure he already knows what information should and should not be shared.... Anyways what kind of pathetic Bruah's do u ppl have! seriously wat is bruahhaaaaaaaa - it sounds like someone laughing and brbrbrbrahhhhh sounds like an engine stalling! Its supposed to be like dis BRUAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH..... chak that!
  15. Not all time was wasted....at least u turned up to firms and diabetic clinics :D I guess medics will always be good at generalisations...esp the Emq's ie if afrocarribean = sarcodosis. If asian and come back from travel = malaria. This is the wonders of Emq's.. Anyways tell me how is life in the Jungle - I hope you are like bhai kaneya and treat the mughals aswell. I hear they are not too different from us. Apparently beneath all the green clothes and under those moustaches they have got feelings too. What say you? ps - if the gurdwara refused ure offer of buying a rowing machine then don't give up buying once since I am more than happy to take it. Just let me know when you are going to drop it off (need to arrange for someone to be in!)
  16. There is a lot of comedy value in ure post! I cannot believe you told the gurdwara that the Granthi's are getting fat and how they shud get a rowing machine for them. lol. But that aside, I think the problem is two fold for the majority of Indian people. Firstly I believe it is due to people mixing diets. What I mean by this is that in the Punjabi community we have lots of nice food. Nice food is not wrong since we all need fat but then you have people who love pakorey/samosa and also incorporate chips/pizza. These people basically mix fatty aspects of each diet. Now imagine if there wasn't global communication - we wud replace chips/pizza with our dhaal. Many people wudn't eat crisps, chocolates, biscuits etc which wud mean punjabi diet alone works. I therefore feel its only troublesome when you mix it with other diets. Also I reckon lifestyle choices are to be blamed. Skipping meals, eating late lunches, eating just before bed = slow metabolism = fat storage. In the old days however - even in England people used to be up at the 4-5am....now a days people are up around 9-10am...imagine if we got up an hour earlier and had a proper routine of eating food at the correct time. This wud mean our metabolism wud be constant. Also lets try to eat fresh not frozen food. I guess lack of labour intensive work is a factor but I know in India they eat something like 8 rotis wheras I only eat 1 roti!! Since for me food intake is automatically less I dunno how much emphasis to put on diet. I feel its kinda feel its more to do with the fact we get up late, skip meals to work long hours and then we out of all the world communities are more likely to mix the bad foods of both cultures.... In my opinion everyone shud stop eating the following - crisps, bisuits, chocolates, ice-cream, pizza, chips, meat, cheese, bread....stick to only fresh roti, fresh vegetable sabji/dhaal and fruits. Also everyone shud try to eat vegetables/fruits in season. On top of that increase activity time by getting up at 6am everyday. Now all I need to do is get someone to sign up my idea so I can make my billions by selling healthy lifestyle diet plans! :D
  17. Voila...I've found the extra calories you can cut down on... :D
  18. The only one problem I have is when they classify all brown ppl as 'Indian'....like there is North Indians and South Indians and we are so different interms of skin colour, height, weight, hair (thick/thin)..... India is so huge that we all have different diets aswell...I wish they wud split Indians up cos besides genetic differences- you get diet differences ie the rice eating ppl, the desi ghee ppl, the saag ppl, the chicken ppl.......
  19. I heard about this...you have to have taken amrit to marry an amritdhari. Also if ure married they don't give you Amrit unless your partner also takes Amrit. I am not gonna give my personal view on this but yea its true. I know people who refuse to give this lady amrit because her husband won't take Amrit. So basically she really wants Amrit but they always tell her she cannot unless her partner takes it too and her partner basically doesn't wanna. She kinda wishes she had taken amrit before getting married - such is life! btw this topic is old. I dunno why guest did a bump...something personal to them? Kinda old. I've read thru it all. Noting more to add. Heera did a gd job of clearing everything up. I really dunno what up with the bump
  20. ah k thanks. Just u know I stopped going to every event where they have 'fun' langar. Idunno why so many places have langar which is not proper indian stuff. It annoys me so much cos I want roti and they never have it. Anyways u shud be spokesperson for khalsa camp. All those colours look so pretty! I don't think anyone cud have done it better! Also I guess Admin wanted sikhi camp and khalsa camp to be separate topics but you know what - its made poor singhniwannabe seem super excited in this thread!! I suppose she will edit her post too! lol. Anyways I will see all u ppl there!! Cannot wait!!
  21. Thats exactly what I thought!! The video is so funny...I think its a rooster song or sumthing. This topic shud have been posted in the fun section. lol.
  22. I have never gone to any camp. I am thinking of going to Khalsa camp as my first ever camp. But before I come I want to know if they have proper food....ie roti, dhaal, dhai, saag, sabji......I am not coming if they serve chips/beans/pasta! Also I like water...not fizzy drinks.
  23. I think this must be the most repeated topic ever. - Bhangra is a style of folk musical dance. - Sikhism is a Religion. The two are different things. In Sikhism you are trying to become a saint-soldier so eventually over time your life starts to have activities which reflect that of a saint-soldier only. This means that Ultimately when you reach the brahim gyani stage then you will only like shabad kirtan. Most people are not at that stage in their journey.
  24. Imperial College London is so chardi kala. Simran every week with translations and vichaar. Martial arts and homeless food runs, gurdwara visits. Also they had a really nice sikhi week and hosted collaborations - a dinner for all the london sikh socs. Add Imperial Sikh Soc on facebook for more info: http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=2484701629 Some past events: http://forums.waheguroo.com/index.php?show...mp;#entry159749 I think the nicest thing about London is that all the London Universities have a strong sikh soc run by amazing people. So basically if your coming London ure going to have a fab time. Also it doesn't matter which London uni you go to since you will get to know sangat from all the London Sikh socs. Basically all London Sikh socs are friends and its all one big family where we all go to each others events!! Big events we do together is London Sikhi Month and the not to be missed Student Akand Paath!! Seriously everyone should come London. :D PS - If anyone is applying Imperial - I am more than happy to help you out by checking ure personal statement etc
