  1. Khalsa4ever >>I can't believe some people (especially you raju123). If there is ONE thing written our Gurus tried to teach us, is that we are sons and daughters of the same father. You are a disgrace to sikhi for saying any different.<< Khalsa4ever you appear to a young kid who doesn't seem to have much experience of Muslims especially when they are in large numbers. Your profile states you are from Canada, so I can excuse your ignorance of how Muslims operated. What you have in Canada at the moment is what Muslims were like in the early 80s in the UK. Wait a few more years when more and more move into you area and then let us how how your view change. Most of the people from the UK held similar views to yours ten years ago and most hold the same views ar Raju123. You will see a similar transition in Canada soon. You are quite correct that the Gurus teach us that the light of Waheguru is in all. But this does not mean that we do not create awarenes amongst our community about the true intentions of Muslims. This does not mean that all Muslims are the same, there are the extremist Muslim or the true believers in Islam, they follow their religion to the letter and that is what makes them dangerous. They want to either convert the non-Muslims to Islam or force them to live their lives as 2nd class citizens. They believe that violence is justified to achieve this end. Then there are the moderate Muslims, they are the same as the extremists but their methods are non-violence but still they want to ensure Muslim domination but through higher birth rates, conversion and gradual taking over of the non-Muslim countries. Lastly you have the non believing Muslims. They are just people born in Muslim households who hold views similar to Sikhi such as human rights, living in peace with others etc. WGJKK WGJKF >>"You were kicked out of your home land in west punjab by muslims." Brother no offense, but i think this view is totally wrong. I think this is because what about those Muslims who were forced out of East Punjab by the SIKHS and hindus?<< Please read the history of that period. It was the Muslims who attacked Sikhs first in West Punjab and the Sikh reaction was in retaliation. It's almost like saying well the Nazis weren't that bad because they bombed the hell out of London in 1940 because the British also bombed the hell out of the German city of Dresden in 1945. It matter who the aggressor is in the first place. It was the Muslims who awiped out entire villages of Sikhs near Rawalpindi in 1946 whilst the Sikh retaliation came in 1947. >>And Muslims are allowed to befriend anyone from any other religion.<< Rather than make blanket statement we should find out what the Muslims themselves teach. This from a well known website where Muslims ask a Imam questions about Islam --- Q. Is it permissible in Islam to have friendship(not close) with the non-muslims through chatting on the internet? I had some non-muslim friends with me. I chatted with them regularly but a Muslim friend of mine told me it is not permitted in Islam so I stopped chatting with them but i m still confused. So tell me whether its a sin to have a chat with non-muslims or it is permissible in Islam. Answer 12381 2004-08-10 One is allowed to mix with non-muslims and chat with them on permissible topics, however they should not be made close friends. This of course is for those of your on gender. Chatting with the opposite gender is prohibited. Your intention when dealing and chatting with them, should be to invite them towards Islam. and Allah Ta'ala Knows Best Ml. Husain Kadodia STUDENT: Darul Ifta CHECKED & APPROVED: Mufti Ebrahim Desai http://www.islam.tc/ask-imam/view.php?q=12381 No offence to you but I would much rather trust what this Imam guy says about Islam rather than your blanket and incorrect statements. >>"I have seen countless Muslim scholars on TV, Radio as well as other media tell this LIE many times." Brother please can you give us a example of this... and if this is true wot about our Granthi's and our Gurdwara managment commitee's that do beedbi (lol dunno how to spell)? Isnt that lieing and cheating just as bad? << The simple answer is that the Granthis who do this are going AGAINST Sikhi whereas the Muslims who lie that Islam means peace are doing so are FOLLOWING their religion. >>What im trying to say is plaese dont judge any faith because of the action of its followers.<< Quite right. But all I am doing here is judging a religion according to its beliefs! >>"To be a true Muslim you have to believe in the Koran" brother, To be a true Sikh dont you have to believe in the Siri Guru Granth Sahib ji?<< Yes, a Sikh who follows the Guru Granth Sahib becomes a better human being. Does a Muslim who follows the Koran similarly become a good human being? How many Muslims do you see justifying violence and murder according to the Koran and how many Sikhs do you see calling for killing of non-Sikhs? Can Sikhs have an Ossama Bin Laden or an organisation like Al Qaeda? To those who would respond that they do not represent Islam just remember no Muslim scholar has been able to convince let alone attempt to convince Muslims that Ossama Bin Laden is doing things that are against Islam. Bin Laden finds much justifcation for his terrorism in the Koran. >>Plaese dont be prejudice against Muslims. Plaese forgive me for any mistakes, im not having a go at you, its just that i found your sayings abit biased... and sorry if offended.<< No one is being prejudiced against Muslims. It's funny how any criticism is straight away dismissed as prejudice and even hate! Mehtab Singh >>Guru Nanak Dev Ji Raag Maajh Pannaa 141 hoie musilmu dIn muhwxY mrx jIvx kw Brmu cukwvY ] hoe musalim dheen muhaanai maran jeevan kaa bharam chukaavai || Becoming a true Muslim, a disciple of the faith of Mohammed, let him put aside the delusion of death and life. rb kI rjwie mMny isr aupir krqw mMny Awpu gvwvY ] rab kee rajaae ma(n)nae sir oupar karathaa ma(n)nae aap gavaavai || As he submits to God's Will, and surrenders to the Creator, he is rid of selfishness and conceit. qau nwnk srb jIAw imhrMmiq hoie q muslmwxu khwvY ]1] tho naanak sarab jeeaa mihara(n)math hoe th musalamaan kehaavai ||1|| And when, O Nanak, he is merciful to all beings, only then shall he be called a Muslim. ||1||<< I have a great deal of respect for you but placing a tuk without a clear explanation of the background as well as the underlying meaning is pointless. If you read all the Shabads where Guruji advises Muslims on the traits of a True Muslims then you will see that much of it is against the definition of a Muslim in the Koran. What Guruji is doing is preaching Sikh values and traits to Muslims. On the same page as the above Shabad is this one ਮਃ ੧ ॥ मः १ ॥ mehlaa 1. panj nivaajaa vakhat panj panjaa panjay naa-o. There are five prayers and five times of day for prayer; the five have five names. pahilaa sach halaal du-ay teejaa khair khudaa-ay. Let the first be truthfulness, the second honest living, and the third charity in the Name of God. cha-uthee nee-at raas man panjvee sifat sanaa-ay. Let the fourth be good will to all, and the fifth the praise of the Lord. karnee kalmaa aakh kai taa musalmaan sadaa-ay. Repeat the prayer of good deeds, and then, you may call yourself a Muslim. naanak jaytay koorhi-aar koorhai koorhee paa-ay. ||3|| O Nanak, the false obtain falsehood, and only falsehood. ||3|| The above Shabad asks Muslims to be TRUTHFUL and to have SARBAT DA BHALLA for all. These go against Islam because in Islam a Muslim is allowed to LIE is certain situations. Muslims are not allowed to have Sarbat da Bhalla as Allah has cursed those who refuse to believe in him and has prepared the fires of hell for non-Muslims. If Allah in the Koran can hate non-Muslims then how can we expect Muslims to have Srabta Da Bhalla for non-Muslims. What the Gurus are teaching here to Muslims is basic Sikhi values as opposed to urging them to live up to the Islamic values in the Koran.
  2. It depends whether you want an answer that is politically correct or an answer based on common sense and a study of history. Common Sense answer Muslims are taught in the Koran not to accept any non-Muslims as their friends and to only stay friends with fellow Muslims. Muslims can lie in order to promote their religion and a lie is a good thing in their belief system if it leads to the attainment of a Muslims' objectives. Hence the reason why Muslims will swear blind that Islam means peace when it really means Submission. I have seen countless Muslim scholars on TV, Radio as well as other media tell this LIE many times. Now if people who believe in a system which does not think like Sikhi that Truth and Truthful living is above everything then it is natural that both beliefs at some stage will come into conflict. Aurangzeb made false oaths on the Koran to Guruji. Guruji being antarjami could easily have not taken heed of the oath but the evacuation of Anandpur Sahib shows is that Guruji wanted to show the Sikhs not to trust the Muslims. You can reply that Guruji had many Muslims in his army but like your dad said were these Muslims real Muslims? To be a true Muslim you have to believe in the Koran and in the koran you cannot take any non-Muslim as a friend and worse still as a guide and teacher. Even worse if you take sides with a non-Muslim against an Islamic ruler or state. So those Muslims we always seem to bring up who were in Guruji's army as proof that Islam is a 'good' religion and the Aurangzebs and Ossama bin Ladens as 'corrupt' Muslims leads to a wrong conclusion. Sikhi teaches us that we all children of the same father but this doesn't mean that we disregard the lessons of history and start to trust Muslims. History teaches us that Nazism was an evil ideology so does this mean that we should respect Nazism becase some people believe in it and maybe it was a good belief but was 'corrupted' by Hitler. Politically Correct answer Islam is a religion of peace and we should trust Muslims with our lives.
  3. Bro please try and understand where and when the verse by Bhagat Kabirji was uttered. It means that don't call these books false unless you have done vichar on them. ONLY then call them false. This was because Bhagat kabirji was addressing groups of Hindus and Muslims who were criticising each others books without even reading them. It's the same as me saying 'The Hobbt' by Tolkein is rubbish without having read it. in way it states that the vedas and Koran are books which are worthy to be followed. Kabirji also calls these books. There is an interesting discussion on this very shabad on http://www.tapoban.org/phorum/read.php?f=1...94&t=110192 As for the 'many signs in the koran which one cannot deny' that's a laugh! http://www.islam-watch.org/MuminSalih/myth...ic_miracles.htm As for Koran as a creation of God then like everything is existence is a creation of God so this doesn't make the Koran anything special. Nowadays memorising the Koran maybe easy but this is because it is available in a book form. At the time when the Koran was not in a book form how could people have memorised it when it was spread around on pieces of bones, and leafs and leather?
  4. More than ever it is time for Sikhs to start to put forward our separate identity and not be classified as Asians. In order not to offend Muslims the media is going on about profiling Asians and not Muslims. It is time for us to make sure the media understands the difference -- Mutiny on Flight 613 Passengers refuse to allow holiday jet to take off until two Asian men are thrown off plane By CHRISTOPHER LEAKE and ANDREW CHAPMAN 23:42pm 19th August 2006 Reader comments (0) 'Suspicions': Jo and Heath Schofield with daughter Isabel. The extraordinary scenes happened after some of the 150 passengers on a Malaga-Manchester flight overheard two men of Asian appearance apparently talking Arabic. Passengers told cabin crew they feared for their safety and demanded police action. Some stormed off the Monarch Airlines Airbus A320 minutes before it was due to leave the Costa del Sol at 3am. Others waiting for Flight ZB 613 in the departure lounge refused to board it. The incident fuels the row over airport security following the arrest of more than 20 people allegedly planning the suicide-bombing of transatlantic jets from the UK to America. It comes amid growing demands for passenger-profiling and selective security checks. It also raised fears that more travellers will take the law into their own hands - effectively conducting their own 'passenger profiles'. The passenger revolt came as Ryanair boss Michael O'Leary was accused of using the terror crisis to make money. Government sources say he boasted to an official at the Transport Department: "Every time I appear on TV, I get a spike in sales." The Tories said the Government's failure to reassure travellers had led the Malaga passengers to 'behave irrationally' and 'hand a victory to terrorists'. Websites used by pilots and cabin crew were yesterday reporting further incidents. In one, two British women with young children on another flight from Spain complained about flying with a bearded Muslim even though he had been security-checked twice before boarding. The trouble in Malaga flared last Wednesday as two British citizens in their 20s waited in the departure lounge to board the pre-dawn flight and were heard talking what passengers took to be Arabic. Worries spread after a female passenger said she had heard something that alarmed her. Passengers noticed that, despite the heat, the pair were wearing leather jackets and thick jumpers and were regularly checking their watches. Initially, six passengers refused to board the flight. On board the aircraft, word reached one family. To the astonishment of cabin crew, they stood up and walked off, followed quickly by others. The Monarch pilot - a highly experienced captain - accompanied by armed Civil Guard police and airport security staff, approached the two men and took their passports. Half an hour later, police returned and escorted the two Asian passengers off the jet. 'There was no fuss or panic' Soon afterwards, the aircraft was cleared while police did a thorough security sweep. Nothing was found and the plane took off - three hours late and without the two men on board. Monarch arranged for them to spend the rest of the night in an airport hotel and flew them back to Manchester later on Wednesday. College lecturer Jo Schofield, her husband Heath and daughters Emily, 15, and Isabel, 12, were caught up in the passenger mutiny. Mrs Schofield, 38, said: "The plane was not yet full and it became apparent that people were refusing to board. In the gate waiting area, people had been talking about these two, who looked really suspicious with their heavy clothing, scruffy, rough, appearance and long hair. "Some of the older children, who had seen the terror alert on television, were starting to mutter things like, 'Those two look like they're bombers.' "Then a family stood up and walked off the aircraft. They were joined by others, about eight in all. We learned later that six or seven people had refused to get on the plane. "There was no fuss or panic. People just calmly and quietly got off the plane. There were no racist taunts or any remarks directed at the men. "It was an eerie scene, very quiet. The children were starting to ask what was going on. We tried to play it down." Mr Schofield, 40, an area sales manager, said: "When the men were taken off they didn't argue or say a word. They just picked up their coats and obeyed the police. They seemed resigned to the fact they were under suspicion. "The captain and crew were very apologetic when we were asked to evacuate the plane for the security search. But there was no dissent. "While we were waiting, everyone agreed the men looked dodgy. Some passengers were very panicky and in tears. There was a lot of talking about terrorists." Patrick Mercer, the Tory Homeland Security spokesman, said last night: "This is a victory for terrorists. These people on the flight have been terrorised into behaving irrationally. "For those unfortunate two men to be victimised because of the colour of their skin is just nonsense." Monarch said last night: "The captain was concerned about the security surrounding the two gentlemen on the aircraft and the decision was taken to remove them from the flight for further security checks. "The two passengers offloaded from the flight were later cleared by airport security and rebooked to travel back to Manchester on a later flight." A spokesman for the Civil Guard in Malaga said: "These men had aroused suspicion because of their appearance and the fact that they were speaking in a foreign language thought to be an Arabic language, and the pilot was refusing to take off until they were escorted off the plane."
  5. Just heard from the camp guys that Monty Panesar was also in the house and due to an injury suffered to his left hand (bowling hand) he can't now ever play cricket for England! They also said that Reuters have been around so expect some (photoshopped) photos of the attack to be available soon! As they know who the attackers are (appears that our camp wale have x-ray vision and can see through balaclavas. Reuters will photoshop the faces of the suspects on to the images and save the police the cost of investigation
  6. Just read something on mrsikhnet blog. A point to note is that Gurmustak Singh has been a camper at the camp in 2004 and also has close links with the camp organisers even inviting some of them to give talks at the 3HO summer solstice camp. He has been advertising the camp on his blog many times and the comments are usually from the organisers or sikhs outside UK who have no idea of the issues with the camp. ^^^^ Gurmustak writes I just finished my doing my banis this morning and went on to check my email as I normally do in the morning and was shocked to hear about what happened last night in England. There have been some people who have been on a mission to discredit and shut down the Sikh Student Camp (which is an awesome camp) which happens every year in England. It seems that they will go to any lengths to cause problems. When I read the below messages from those involved in the circumstances I wonder how a Sikh can justify doing such things. In their mind it must be some "religious crusade to rid the sinners". It really shows the state of where some Sikhs are today….and how far off track they are to stoop this low. ---- "As you may have heard, we were attacked at home last night by two youths wearing black balaklavas (ski masks). This was a planned premeditated attack, as a number of youths were waiting outside the house in car. The attack occurred at our front door, after we had just returned from the gurdwara at 11.15pm. Two youths dressed in black, attacked my brother from behind, forcing open the door, and then proceeding to assault him inside the house. My elderly parents were at home and are extremely shocked and scared to say the least. My brother, the only Amrithdhari eye surgeon in the country has hurt his neck and his right hand and fingers, and it is unclear if he will be able to operate again in the near future. We are extremely hurt and dissappointed by the actions of a few fanatical so called "leaders" of the youth, who now seem willing to go to any level to achieve their goals. Rather than work with us, these individuals have taken this to an inexcusable level. We urge everyone to intervene and stop this unjustifiable mindless violence escalating, before it is too late." Later on at 3:30AM this morning another sevadhar’s car was petrol bombed (Molotov cocktail). "His 3 kids and eldery parents are visibly shaken. The unfortunate thing is we know who is behind all this… but they use others to do their dirty work." I just called friends in England to make sure everyone was ok, and found out that one of the persons who was involved in the assualt was followed home and is now in police custody. Apparently they are not giving the police any information. Sikh Student Camp started today in spite of all the hardships, and is at full capacty! As a precaution and for safety reasons Police are stationed at the school where the camp is held. If you are a parent, no need to worry One has to try to find the good from these bad situations. I find that things like this can bring people closer….as we support each other in the hardship. Hopefully we can all learn from this. ^^^^^^ I would have written a comment on his blog but since he doesn't allow anything critical of the camp I'll write it here Has anyone considered that fact that this comes as a very convenient attack for the camp people? They are under pressure from the Panth and apart from the few dozen die hard neo-nihangs, 3HO Sikhs and some malaysians they have no support from the rest of the Panth. The email seems to prove the fact, trying to portray the camp people as victims, even to the extent of the eye surgeon who won't be able to operate again..LOL. Come on guys is that a cliche or what. Maybe they should write one of the sewadars injured his hands and now won't be able to play the piano and he had a successful career ahead of him. To be honest I don't believe anything the camp people say anymore knowing how deceptive they are. The camp organisers have conveniently blamed those who were against the camp. Since one ignorant accusation is as good as another, I think it could be something to do with a drug deal gone wrong
  7. Pritam Singh This answers your questions http://www.ccdominoes.com/lc/lcg3.html It's unfortunate that a thread about the Sikhs suffering for the actions of others has been hijacked by conspiracy mongers
  8. Heera Singh There are a lot of resources on the internet that debunk loose change. To all the gullible people on the forum please check this site out http://www.ccdominoes.com/lc/LooseChangeGuide.html Btw Heera Singh I have a goose that lays golden eggs can you send me a couple of thousand pounds and i'll send it to you.
  9. Interesting post and something that we all need to consider. In the West more and more people are beginning to realise that this not about 'oppression' of Muslims, Palestine or any other Muslim issue. Apart from some die hard liberal lefties whose hatred of Blair and Bush blinds then to what is happening, most people now know that the issue is Islam itself. Islam attempted to take over the world just after its was founded, it oppressed millions from Spain to India. Thankfully some areas of the world were saved from having to live under Sharia law. China, Western Europe, parts of Africa, Indo-China etc. Some attempts were made to get back the holy land of the Christians through the Crusades. Although nowadays universally condemned they were in essence an attempt by Christians to take back wat had originally been their land. Islam was the aggressor in the 7th Century having invaded Christian lands of the middle east. Islam then went into decline and the danger of Islam was forgotten. Now flush with oil money Islam is again threatening the west and other non-Muslim areas.
  10. He actually said they want to harm us for what we believe in..(ie Democracy, Human Rights, Freedom of Religion). Most non-Muslims believe in these.
  11. Sikhs have been suffering for the actions of Muslims for the last few decades In 1979 Sikhs were attacked in the US due to the Iranian hostage crisis. After 9/11 and 7/7 the same things happened again. Now with this new plot we will again face harrassment. Amritdharis working at the Airport might have restrictions of their kakkars put on again. On the other hand the media is full of stories of Muslims complaining about harrassment. Someone Hajabi woman was on TV a few minutes ago about getting 'weird' looks from people Sikhs have been killed due to the actions of Muslims in the last few years and she's complaining about a few weird looks! Isn't it time that the Sikh leadership approached the Media and let them know that it is contributing to the harrassment of Sikhs. Even after it has been pointed out that these 24 people arrested are Muslims, some news channels are still referring to them as Asians! Some reporters on the scene are going on about the deep resentment felt by many 'Asian' youth against Britain's foreign policy! One 'intelligence' expert was on Sky News an hour again and he was referring to these people as 'south asians' Only when the interviewed mentioned Muslim relations with the police did he then refer to them as Muslims. I think it's time for us to phone in to talk radio like TalkSport, LBC, BBC London and let them know that we Sikhs will also suffer harrassment and let's not let the Muslims hog all the media time.
  12. So brave that they hide their rockets in civilians areas! Even the UN has criticised Hazbollah for 'blending' into the civilian population. They way to prevent civilian casualties is that both armies have uniforms. Hazbollah who in all their propaganda videos wear black uniforms along with some yellow sashes on their foreheads but when Israel attacked they wore civilian clothes. I respect you opinion but I think you are wrong. It is Hazbollah and the French who want a quick ceasefire and Israel which wants to expand the fight by having a full invasion. What rights are Hazbollah fighting for? The right to send rockets into Israel without the inconvenience of an Israeli response. Britain, US and Israel realise where the danger lies, it's fanatics like Hazbollah who would happily slit your throat as an Infidel! Bush has just got a bit closer to realising what the whole of the non-Muslim world is up against it's Islamic Fascism. Maybe soon the rest of the media will realise that. Btw did you know that the aim of Muslim terrorists such as Hazbollah, Hamas? They want the lands that were once ruled by Muslims to come back under the control of the Muslims again. That's places like Spain, Eastern Europe and Israel. It also means Punjab and the rest of India. In the end they want these places under Sharia Law. Is that ok with you? Since you support them then can I assume that you have no problem with the Punjab being under Muslims again?
  13. Khalsaforce >>if israel wins this battle, do u know what will happen?every kid in lebanon will become a human bomb<< Yeah rite! If they're so into becoming human bombs then how comes they are running around getting the media to take photos and videos of how they are 'suffering'. They're even staging photos to try and get the best propaganda value. Don't believe every rhetoric you hear from Hazbollah or Muslims. Suicide bombing is overrated, no side has ever won a war that used suicide bombers. The Japanese tried it in WW2 but they didn't win. The Palestinians tried it and all Israel had to do is build a wall and these bombings have all but stopped. >>The israeli's need to plan what to do after they win this small battle becasue hamas and hezbollah are like brothers.<< Only because they see a common Jewish enemy, once the war is over the Shi'ites and Sunnis will go back to bombing the shyt out of each other like they are doing in Iraq. Just yesterday Sunnis killed over 30 Shias outside they're holiest shrine. corection 400 civilians. all hezbollah ppl are lebanese.. but all lebanese are not hezbollah. Amazingly Hazbollah only ever admitted to ONE casualty amongst their members!! Most of the Hazbollah getting killed are shown up as civilians to get propaganda value.
  14. Galloway is a complete <banned word filter activated>! He was Saddam's best friend and never raised his voice when Saddam was killing thousands of people and was actually shown on TV praising him. He only got elected because Muslims will elect any muppet who talks on their behalf as they perceive that the war is against their religion and not terrorism. He used to represent a seat in Scotland but moved to one is east London because it is a Muslim area. The problem is that his idea of an interview is to stick to one point and basically shout that point at the interviewer. He said in the interview that Israel did not leave all of Lebanon in 2000 so that's why Hazbollah is attacking Israel. He's wrong, the UN certified that israel had left all of Lebanese territory in 2000 so there is no case for Hazbollah to be attacking Israel. They interviewer seemed to hold her own and at one stage shouting at the <banned word filter activated> to let her finish her question. As for Israel getting a beating, Isreal has lost about 40 troops and killed in excess of 400 Hazbollah terrorists. Hardly a beating?
  15. In my view he has a good chance to win the award. I can't see anyone else coming close at the moment but what will determine it will be how he does on the Ashes tour of Australia. A few weeks ago not many people gave him a chance of even being on the team for the tour but he's done so well that he's now certain of a place. The next test match against pakistan will be interesting. Pakistan will have all their best players back especially the bowlers so it will make a good match. Let's hope Monty does well in that test as well as in Australia. Baring a very bad performance he will win the award.
  16. It's so easy to excuse the fanatics of Islam that purposefully attack innocent people. In the last five years we've had so many terror attacks and instead of knowing what the threat is we have people come up with lame excuses like this. Muslims are 20% of the world population yet around 95% of all terror attacks can be attributed to them. Haven't you read or heard that the proud Muslim boast is that they love death like non-Muslims love life. Is there anything like the cult of death in other religions?
  17. Could be they and their families have been living in fear for years because hazbollah terrorists have been lauching rockets at their homes for years. It's payback time. Don't get sucked into the propaganda war the media is going all out to show that only lebanese civilians are being killed by israelis. Some Arab photogapher just got fired by Reuters because he was photoshopping the images to make them appear more gruesome. The bombs these kids are signing 'with lovw' probably took out some hazbollah terrorists. Be good when they get the terror chief nasrallah.
  18. It might be no where near the standards of other International airports but unless we all start using the airport then there is no reason for the government to update the facilities. We all complain about having to land in Delhi and how the money we spend goes into the Delhi economy, now we have a chance to fly direct to Amritsar so we should all be using that route
  19. If Islam is from Waheguru then there would be no need for the Shaheeds to give Shaheedi. As for badmouthing other faiths there is nothing wrong is letting a fanatic know that you don't think mush of his fanaticism. Don't the Nihangs refer to going to the toilet as shooing the Qazi or something like that. I doubt that programme will give the whole truth about Muslims. For every Muslims who can't keep the truth hidden and rants on about wanting to kill non-Muslims channel 4 will bring 10 Muslim apologists to regurgitate the same old crud that Islam is a religion of peace. The mainstream media can never tell the whole truth otherwise the whole country will turn on the Muslims. I find it funny that all those Al Qaida moorakhs like Bin Laden and Hazbollah fools keep on going on about 'we love death as you love life'.. why you hiding in a cave then?
  20. How many Sants were there between 1469- c1920? How many Gursikhs like Bhai Gurdasji, Baba Buddhaji, were called Sants? Sants came about around the 1920s before that the only people Sikhs referred to as Sants were Sant Kabirji. The picture of Baba Attar Singhji where someone has written that he does not have the Kakkars, what about the kara and the kesh and Kachera? We can't see it but I'm sure he has a kangha, the only Kakkar missing is the Kirpan. I'm not sure in what circumstances the picture is taken but Baba Attar Singh gave Amrit to lakhs of Sikhs. If Sants are beyond the Kakkars then why do they give Amrit?
  21. >>Lebonese support Hezbollah since its a political party as well as a militant group.. Israel meant to have ceased fire ages ago.. then it goes downt he loo when it comes to Qana.<< Lebanese Shi'ites support Hazbollah and so does Iran and Syria. If you're going to support a 'political party' that has 10,000 rockets and which picks a fight with a neighbouring country by kidnapping it's soldiers then these supporters shouldn't be complaining about getting bombed. I suppose they just want to be left in peace to kidnap and fire rockets into Israel. I don't recall Germans who supported the Nazis complaining about being bombed in world war 2. As a Guru Ji's Sapahi I would have thought you would know what a war is, it's not a picnic. Yes it is self defence if you kill or maim those who are about to let off rockets to kill your citizens.
  22. Typical Arab propaganda. It's Israel against Hazbollah and not Isreal against Lebanon. The Lebanese have alllowed a terrorist organisation to control a stretch of their territory and because they are too scared to do anything then israel is having to do the job the Lebanese govt should have done. Obviously the writer sees nothing wrong in rockets being fired into Israel but chides Bush because he supports Israel's right to defend itself. It's all very well complaining about civilian casualties but she should be telling Hazbollah to stop using civilians as cover for their attacks on Israel. Does her new middle east also include an Israel, I doubt it.
  23. SikhSpeak I'm glad that you've become a member and have been a member since you were 18. The main problem is that not all the youth are as active as you are. Even if 25% of our youth in Southall were like you then we would never had got to a stage like this where the choice is between two corrupt people to run the Gurdwara. A youth committee is possible but only if enough of the youth become members. Between the end of membership and the election is about two months. Within this period it is possible to hold a meeting with all the youth who have become members and then select a committee from the youth. There is a movement at the moment to get this done. I am spreading the word to all the youth that I know. Even contacted friends in East London who have contacts in West London for them to urge them to become members. Only a concerted effort can save our Gurdwara from these Mahants. I would not be at all surprised if they tried to turn the Gurdwara in a PLC. These are the same people who in 1996 rejected the Akal Takht Jathedar Bhai Ranjit Singh's hukumnama to get rid of their pubs and clubs if they want to run a Gurdwara.
  24. The most important thing at this moment is that the maximum number of youth become members of this Gurdwara. The closing date for membership is 6th August which is this Sunday. If as Jagtar Singh Khalsa said the youth can get 1000 members then this is enough to gain a leverage in the Gurdwara. Either a youth committee allied with members who are not tainted or corrupt. Both sets of committee Sohi and Malhi are corrupt. You only need to chat to the youth to realise that. Malhi owns a nightclub and he wants to be a Pardhan of the Gurdwara! Nowadays because the Panth has been so lax over many years the fact that a Sharabi kababi wants to run the Gurdwara has no shock value. It is becoming an everyday occurrance. The dream of the youth is a Gurdwara that caters to their needs, which supports rather than hinders their ideas for parchar. How many times have we heard the youth complain that they approached the Gurdwara for some support and they came away disappointed. It is in the nature of youth that they are enthuastic about what they want to do for the Panth. After interaction with a Gurdwara the youth invariably come away cynical and deflated. The Panth needs the youth today as they are the future of Sikhi. For too long the youth have sat back and allowed those who could not run a market stall to run the biggest resource of the Panth outside India. The urgent need for those members who live in the boroughs of Ealing, Hounslow, Hillingdon and Harrow is to become members. Between the close of membership and the election there will be time to get a committe of youth together or allied with others standing. The ideal would be a youth committee made up of professional youth who would run the Gurdwara in a modern manner. When the choice before the Panth today on who will run the biggest Gurughar outside India is between someone who owns off licences and someone who runs a nightclub surely Maharaj will bring forth some youth who will clear this Gurdwara of these corrupt Mahants! To those reading this post I say, if you value the asthan where Maharaj will give Parkash and take Sukhasan each day then make sure you become members. Get your families to become members as well as your friends. I myself have already convinced 10 members of my family, my neices my nephews, brothers and sisters to become members. With freinds it will probably come to 20 members. That's 2% of what we need. If only another 49 of the youth can come forward and make this effort then we will have the power to decide who becomes a part of the committee. If we get more than that then we could even have a committee made of the youth running the Gurdwara. To those Bhajis and Bhenjis who made the trips to stop the beadbi of Maharaj when sharabi kababis were taking our beloved Maharaj to clubs and pubs then now is the time to make another effort to stop the Sharabi Kababis who run the Gurdwaras. Imagine a Gurdwara run by the youth that will support the youth in everything they want to do. The R4G campaign, Gurmat classes, Sikh schools and much more. It is hard to imagine that a sea change can take place in the Panth. We have been too lax in the past and allowed these types of Mahants to run the Gurdwaras. When these Mahants then start fights in the Gurdwaras to keep their pardhangis intact we then start to complain. We complain about the Sikhs in Punjab and say why are they not throwing out the corrupt Badals out of power but aren't we also the same. Could not the same people of Punjab say back to us why have you kept the Sharabi Kababis in power in your Gurdwaras? There is a grassroots movement of the youth at the moment which is trying to make as many of the youth as possible to become members. Be a part of that movement and become members. If you agree with what I have written then make as many people as possible members. Email it to your friends. It's time for a change!!
