  1. We need to be more pragmatic. Unlike the cults in India such as Nirankaris and the followers of the rapist sadh they do not seek to convert Punjabi Sikhs into their organisation and as far as I know they do not say that they are the REAL Sikhs and we are all fakes as some cults do. Unlike these cults they also do not harbour any animosity towards us. They are following a version of Sikhi which suits them or which they have been taught. I look at it this way, because we have failed to do parchar of Sikhi in the west and have spent what resources we have to giving out 'free food' and attempting to become the 4th emergency service we cannot expect white people to take to Sikhi on their own. Due to our failure, what little Sikh influence there has been it has been by Yogi Bhajan and the 3HO. Just by the very fact that we see Goray in Bana normalises out identity in the west, we lose our otherness in the eyes of the ordinary white person when white people also wear the Bana. This isn't ideal but until we have organisations working to preach Sikhi to the west then we need to accept that having 3HO Sikhs is better than no 3H0 Sikhs. The more 3HO Sikhs there are then the better it is for us because if not them, then their sons and daughters will one day become Sikhs like the rest of us.
  2. Although people accept the Shahmukhi script as a valid script for Punjabi, there are number of Punjabi words which can be misread if they are written in Shahmukhi script rather than Gurmukhi. We need to stop catering to their whims and insist that Gurmukhi is the only script for Punjabi. One thing that I have noticed is how Pakistanis misspell Sikh names as well as other words associated with Sikhi. I think it is intentional, a way to show that these are unimportant.
  3. Out of the Dutch or Germans I much prefer the Germans. Maybe because I studied German in school when the choice was only German or French and for the complete idi.ots something called French studies where they learned about the country and didn't need to be good at the language in order to get a good grade. If one could compare the races of Europe with the races of south Asia, Punjabis would definitely be like the Germans. The main difference between them and us is our sense of time and time keeping which is more like the Italians or Greeks rather than Germans. Apart from that, the similarities are - superiority complex, if we had the same numbers and percentage (12%) in India as the number of Germans in the population of Europe then definitely we would have started two major pangay like the Germans did in Europe. Although we would have won more Kabaddi world cups than the Germans have won Football world cups. Our languages are the same, loud and boisterous. This is how we say goodbye in Punjab.
  4. What kind of shyte reporting is this. It should be 7 out of ten anonymous persons responding to a questionnaire stated that they suffered abuse from a partner or relative.
  5. Those who place any hope on Punjabi solidary has a future should watch this clip. The lady in the blue seems to be genuinely interested to know more but the donkeys on either side of her can't wait to show what gadday they are.
  6. More like scamming the national lottery fund. Lots of these organisations have caught on to the fact that there's money available if you can think up a 'need' for your organisation. If there is no need then just invent one.
  7. I think you're explanation about the likelihood of the goray authors exaggerating things is more plausible. You are right that the circumstances were extreme but it is highly unlikely that they would put pigs blood in Amrit when it would be easier to feed pork instead. Tampering with Amrit would have been viewed as a very extreme thing to do.
  8. The attacker of the Sikh taxi driver has been arrested and charged. His Name is MOHAMED HASSANAIN. This is how one 'sikh' liberal reacted. Apparently it is the fault of WHITE SUPREMACY.
  9. Honestly the only reason we have relations with Pakistan is because our Gurdwaras are there. If Radcliffe had taken our Gurdwaras and land ownership into account and the partition been drawn 60 miles west of where it now and placed the majority of our Gurdwaras in our Punjab then we would never need to visit that shythole of a country and have to put up with their deceptive behaviour.
  10. There is no need to be aggressive with anyone. Knee <banned word filter activated> reactions are never a good idea. Just don't be a liberal a$$hole and challenge those in our community who are. The external enemy is never as dangerous as the internal traitor. The biggest traitors are those who look like they are devout Sikhs and yet are willing to subvert our religion and go against the Rehat Maryada just to win brownie points with their liberal backers.
  11. There is actually a documentary by Tommy Robinson coming out later this month in which he investigates these cases in the town of Telford and the links between these paedophiles and the CPS, police and politicians. The usual excuse of those of authority being too scared to prosecute because they didn't want to be accused of racism does not explain why these cases have been going on since the 1970s when there was no fear of police being accused of racism. It's being shown in Telford on the 29th January as well as being released on GETTR (Twitter type social media without the censorship)
  12. So? That's how democracy works, the politicians are elected through VOTES to do what the VOTERS want them to do otherwise they will be VOTED out at the next election. It's amazing the mentality of some of our people who cannot even accept something positive that western politicians do for us and have to see some negative angle in it. Sad.
  13. This is why we have to retain or go back to the extended family model. 4 children would be difficult to raise without the help of grandparents and younger siblings. The modern liberal family is set up for failure. The couple want to move out as soon as they marry, because their living expenses are a lot then they both need to work and hence they don't have any children or have one child. The ones who don't have a child may create a comfortable lifestyle in a few decades and old age but then who will they leave their house and all their goods to when they go? Their cats and their dogs? The ones who raise just one child usually pamper the child so much that he or she becomes a brat and will never be able survive in the real world. If the child goes wayward then its like the same as the couples that never had kids at all. More children living in an extended family especially allows either the family to live with just one income or the help of the grandparents to look after the children may allow the wife to work part time. 4 children should be the norm if we want to progress as a community. After a few years the older children can look after the younger ones, having older siblings in school prevent bullying of the younger kids. There are a host of benefits that a large family has over just a couple on their own or a couple with just one child. Our future lies in our married couples having more children than has become the norm now. It is better to have l basic Gurdwaras full of Sangat rather than gold plated massive Gurdwaras with a small Sangat getting smaller by the year. It is the inculcation of liberal beliefs which have tried to destroy the essential maternal nature of women and tried to turn women into just clones of men. Both men and women have an inherent desire to have children. It is possible for women to have a career and have children, it is just that you will be a decade or so behind those who have no children. What is better to be a CEO of a company at 40 but have a no children or a CEO at 50 but having a large family?
  14. Either it an attempted appropriation of Sikhi or the people who are advising Modi are not very well informed about Sikh sensibilities. However, the reaction to this has been disappointing. We should not have had some Sikh organisations outright rejecting it and on the other side other Sikh organisations welcoming it unconditionally. What we should have seen was a united response, welcoming the move but stating that for it to be in line with Sikhi then it should have been given the title Sahibzaday Shaheedi Diwas. Had there been such a united move then it would have put pressure on the government to accept the demand. If Modi thinks that he will gain Sikh votes for the BJP solely because of this act he is very much mistaken but we should be pragmatic and accept the holiday under the new title because it promotes and bring to the attention of over a billion people this event of Sikh history. This can only be positive.
  15. Interestingly enough, Jalandhar district actually had a Sikh majority of 56% in 1951 census. After the SC benefits were only allowed for Hindu SCs a lot of the Ad Dharmis who had in 1931 and 1941 censuses put their religion as Ad Dharm started to be listed as Hindus to avail themselves of these benefits.. That along with the migration of Sikhs over the last 60 years has turned a Sikh majority district into a Hindu Majority one. Although Jagraon tehsil is a part of Ludhiana district it shares a lot of the same characteristics as Moga district. These areas of Malwa which you listed above are unique in that in many of the major towns Sikhs have a majority or a near majority. Jagraon and the old Moga tehsil before it became a district were majority Sikh even during British times. This is because of the time Guru Gobind Singh spent in these villages and among the Chaudhris of the area after the battle of Chamkaur. Just on a side note, there were many riots between Sikhs and Muslims around the area of Chamkaur Sahib even before partition mainly around the time of the anniversary of the Shaheedi of the Sahibzadas. Further west the old Faridkot state along with Nabha state were much more Sikhi focussed than Patiala or Jind. Faridkot's Maharaja Bikram Singh was involved in the Singh Sabha movement and his state was one of the first to have a Singh Sabha after Lahore and Amritsar. His and the activities of the Maharajas who followed him had the effect of increasing the Sikh population of his state from 40% in 1891 to 56% in 1941. His state also had Muktsar Sahib and this was where the annual Maghi mela was held and for Sikhs from this part of Malwa would visit in large numbers. Here is a news report from 1943 featuring the Maghi mela.
  16. Outside of the USA, it is a lot more difficult to train with firearms. The only option for any Sikhs wanting to keep up the martial tradition is to join the army or if they are professionals then to join the Territorial Army which trains people at weekends and you pretty much get the same training as the regular army. I don't know about the US army but the British army I think will allow you to resign if you do not feel that you want to fight in a particular war for personal reasons.
  17. I think the British army is a good for our people to keep the martial spirit alive, learn how to shoot and how to survive in the wild. They days of military interventions on behalf of the USA are pretty much over now so it's unlikely any apna will get killed in enemy fire while fighting for the British army. The army is something like 82,000 regular and 30,000 reservists so if we have a couple of thousand apnay in the British army that would be a good thing especially if there any civil unrest and a breakdown in order. What I really hate is the inordinate amount of subservience that we tend to display when we highlight our historic link with the British army. The important thing to remember is that we are here because they were there and they took away our sovereignty.
  18. It's liberal Hindus including Congress people who rely of Muslim votes and hence they can do no wrong in their eyes.
  19. Looks like they are very suspicious of your email! There is no doubt there is sexual abuse in our community but these types of organisations are solely founded to create jobs for liberals and their friends. The liberals tried to set up organisations to combat Sikh 'extremism' in the mid 2010s but there were not takers in the government so now we have organisations that combat sexual abuse. The only organisation that actually battles sexual abuse in our community is SAS and Bhai Mohan Singh. This SWA wants us to believe that there is no issue of sexual abuse by paedophile grooming gangs. There are loads of funds available from the government if you can create a niche organisation like SWA. It's all a part of the gravy train. If they had any sense they would have set up a company and tried to get PPE contracts and they could have retired by now!
  20. We need to understand how these comrades work. They are not averse to using Sikhi and the Panth to obtain power. Do not be surprised that they post images of Nihangs or Sikhs but it is what they do when they are in power that we need to be concerned about. Look anywhere where comrades have achieved power, they have impoverished these countries and well as used oppression to retain power. Communist where ever it has been in power has never improved the lives of its citizens. These Comrades will never win power in Punjab, They might because they have latched on to the Kisan andolan win a few seats but all they will do is to cause a divide in the anti-Congress vote.
  21. It's not about forgiving, what's happened his happened but what is annoying are these diaspora kids trying to JUSTIFY his GADDARI by coming up with BS excuses and making up 'facts' The whole thread originally was about the rewriting of Sikh history by these same diaspora kids in order to promote the lie that a Nihang Akal Takht Jathedar had been thrown out of Akal Takht and that the Akalis were so scared of Nihangs that they used women to beat him up. ALL these diaspora kids need to do is to show that he was the Akal Takht Jathedar in 1920, there being plenty of media around at that time which could be used to back up this claim if it were true. They cannot do that because you can make up 'facts' but when you have to provide evidence like a newspaper report from an eyewitness then you can't just conjure one up.
  22. You really should try and educate yourself on the social dynamics of Punjabi village life. Each caste relies on one another and a stable village life would not exist if Jats are going around oppressing and raping Dalits at will. You seem well read on many things but you are grossly ignorant about rural Punjab. Rather than wasting time in Goa with the hippies or going to see the Taj Mahal like every lame tourist, why don't you go and live in a Punjabi village for a few weeks. I can guarantee you that it will be a life changing experience for you. So the next time some freshie tries his GAPPAN on you about how he and his mates lord it over the Dalits in their village you can respond. Saaliya jhoot na bol, main aap pind vich rehke aiyan.
  23. It must have been in one of the cities, such things could never have taken place in rural Punjab.
  24. So now Jats are converting in droves? Why bother to dig out facts when you can invent them on demand?
  25. Ok on the face it an open and shut case. But let's see the results in order-; 1. The Singhu border beadbi 'torture' story and then fact to state that Jats own 93% of farmland and Dalits own 3.5%. How is that oppression. Should Jats who on the main have on average 2-3 acres give up their lands so that Dalits aren't landless anymore? It's not like every Jat owns a 100 acres each and could afford to give some land to the Dalits. 2. A dispute over a shrine - as for the Dalit claim to have a management in it because of it being built on common land of the village. You probably doesn't understand what Shaamlaat land is, it is the land held in common NOT by the whole village but by the families of the founders of that village. It was not a Sufi shrine, it has always been a Gurdwara. Look at how the Damdami Taksal is presented by the writer as a RW organisation and how Santji presented. If anything is seems to an attempt by Dalits supported by vested interests to wrest control of the Gurdwara and bring all sorts Ad-Dharm, Raviassia and Bhaniarawale customs into the Gurdwara. All the Damdami Taksal said was that the Gurdwara committee members should be Keshdhari irrespective of their caste. This article fails to mention this fact and imples that the Damdami Taksal was on the side of the Jats. The Dalits many of whom cut their hair wanted to assert the right of Dalits to manage the shrines even if they did not practice Sikhi. Is this caste oppression? The BSP party was instrumental in giving this a caste rather than a religious angle. They wanted to consolidate he Dalit votes and try and play the caste politics of UP and Bihar in Punjab which didn't wash in Punjab. Another factor which proves that there is no such thing as the widespread oppression of Dalits in Punjab like in UP and Bihar. The only time the BSP party gained any Lok Sabha seats was when the Akali Dal Mann supported the BSP candidates in the 1989 Lok Sabha elections. 3. We Are One’: Why Punjab’s Landless Dalits are Standing with Protesting Farmers - As for the village common lands, the politicians in an attempt to gain votes want to give these lands which belong to the Jat farmers to the Dalits. Why should not the Jats object to the land which was held in common by them being given for free to Dalits? If the government is so generous then let it give Dalits land from its own landholdings or even compensate the Jats holders of the common land. I could go thorough most of these other news reports but rather than the rampant oppression that Daily and you allege the truth is quite different.
