  1. Further arrogance..... kids recorded the program whilst I was on the phone. You can clearly see that the presenter gets instructions from the side to entertain or to cut the call. Pathetic State of Sikh (and so called sikhs) Media in UK who is only there to line up their own pockets on the name of Sikhi. Lets see how the next so-called collection on the name of Sikhi goes. Saka of June aint that far... Now time for me to plan how to start a business on sikhi name. Fed up of struggling in the rat race ;-) Fateh . . . .
  2. Fateh Venting my frustration here..... With the continous effort of collecting funds for Nepal; Sikhs in UK have collectively raised a lot of money. There are hundreds of Sikh organisations including 3 channels, Gurudwaras, and Charities collecting funds. Every organisation is collecting towards a common cause, yet everyone is making their own individual effort to deliver these to the grief stricken areas. Well done to everyone. It will be good if sikhs should unity and placed all funds in one place; obv there should be a detail of who collected how much. This collective fund will give UK Sikhs a combined power to have direct talks with Nepal Govt and aid can be provided directly to the needed. I called all 3 sikh channels in UK and hugely disappointed in them not willing to even listen to this. Spoke to a few Gurudwara pardhans who dont have the time to even work on this. One commonality though, everyone is busy collecting funds for themselves! Ego - on every so called gursikh sitting in these panels, who want their own name to be branded highest of their own sikh brothers. Fateh...
  3. Fateh . . . Reh Gayi Gal..... Each to their own. Problem is using Sikhi as an execuse (which is education and having the wisdom (wisdom which will only come from experience of kamaaiii)) If you are a Sikh you follow the rehat; if you are not following rehat you are not a sikh As simple as that Rehat Payri Mujh ko...Sikh payara nehin.... Fateh . . . . .
  4. I noticed this a while ago; and did try to start a campagin to state Sikh Approved. If another community (e.g. Muslim) can get a label approved stating it is Halal Approved; why can Sikhs not get a campaign going for getting label of "Sikh Approved" As it is not going to go on any meat products; it will clarify matters a lot for Sikhs. Thanks
  5. Fateh I somewhat agree with the decision. If it is against the Rehat Maryada it is not acceptable. Remember Bhai Chaman Lal was stopped from kirtan as he was cleanshaven. And he became amritdhari gursikh (to look at) before he did kirtan again If we allow this... then slowly things start becomnig lets bend this rule a bit too..... Fateh
  6. Fateh Water is taken into the sarvoar from connected water supplies. This also provides facility to increase and decrease the water level. Understand that there has been heavy rainfall but the water level doesnt rise in a second. The commitee members or the sevadars should have been responsible for monitoring the water level and take adequate action. Oh well. . .. . .
  7. It is not that the transactions are illegal. Indian stock market is doing and has done fairly well in the past years. Guess the real estate angle comes from Punjabi Jatts being landowners etc (trying to be politically correct) and pakistani punjabis being more of a business oriented. However there is a clear lack of understanding of Finance in our community. What can be done - unsure unless ppl have a vivid interest in it
  8. Fateh I always thought that Finance is an area which has been kept away from our community. Look at our newspapers etc nothing at all; and if there is a news it is a small column. Compare it to the other communitues who thrive in this. Perhaps it is the fear of Maya ;-) Back to your comments - Yes I dabble a bit as and when needed. Not sure if you will get some tips on this forum though ;-) Fateh
  9. Have a look at: Optium Whey (Gold Standard) or Best Whey (MyProtein.com) Have you also looked at the Soy Whey ....
  10. Fateh Yes it is the same video where some so called singhs are going around slapping a Sadhu. I just do not get it. Why - what is the point of it. As many have expressed their feelings above it is not Sikhi, and this may be a ploy. However, this sort of thing needs to stop as it gives everyone a bad name. Surely you have had this video via whats app if not msg me and I will email it across. Fateh. . .
  11. Tried to create a new thread. but not allowed to upload mp4's Unsure how else to attach it here. Any advise pls....
  12. Fateh I received the attached video. I watched it. Whilst I was watching this I felt sad. Is this what todays Khlasa has become. Lets pick on a weakling and slap some sense into him. Since when have WE become the policy and policy holders on who wears and worships whom. khalsa Soye Nirdhan ko Paalay !! khalsa Soye Dust ko Gaalay !! khalsa Soye Jo Chrday Turang!! khalsa Soye Jo Kare nit jung!! Is this what todays Khalsa has become of. Rather than picking on the Pakhandi Babe who are destroying Sikhi, Great Warriors now pick on a mere weaklings. Disclaimer: I do not know the details behind the clip so dont flame me. It is what you see here. I do not intend to cause anyone any harm or ill feelings. Just stating my opinion. Fateh. . ..
  13. Fateh... I am looking for a TAPE from the late 80's / early 90's which is a details the history of Kunwar Dulip Singh as a Dharmik Songs with some commentry Does anyone has a clue on this. Has anyone heard this. Afraid I dont have any other details. Thanks Fateh . . .
  14. "he or she is, in reality, about as Sikh as Vladimir Putin." Being cynical - Never say Never - One day Vladimir Putin may become Sardar Vladimir-Putin Singh Roos ;-)
  15. Fateh An informative post; in case link below unseen Only comment being - perhaps Punjab should take a lesson from the neighboring state. http://video.uk.msn.com/watch/video/india-s-village-of-bodybuilding-musclemen/2ux2mmxyw Fateh . . .
  16. Fateh . . . Many thanks for your message. I looked at your website and will be in touch. Fateh . . .
  17. Fateh . . . I was given some Birdh (old) Gutkas, and some religious scriptures which are now in a very old state and are unable to be used. I normally will do Japji Sahib, Ardas and Agan Bhet a calendar, or card with Gurbani on it and then Jal Parvah; however for a Gutka Sahib, I could not bring myself to do this. So I recalled Sikh Missionary Society (southall) doing this; however after approaching (or being given the run around) them and local Gurudwara Sahibs, I am unable to find anywhere in Southall or sourrounding areas where I can take the Gutka Sahibs to be Agan Phet (or Sasakar). 1. Can the forum members advise if/where I can do this. Are there any Gurbani Satkar Society Members around who can point me in the right direction? 2. As a community, we have a lot of stress on Respect Gurbani; however the basis facilities (such as Saskar) are not available. This matter needs to be looked at further. Any help is appreciated. Fateh . . .
  18. Fateh Question and Clarification sought: At various points, I have heard that certain bani should be read multiple times; e.g some ppl state that they do 5 japji sahib path, or x number of chupai sahib paths and so on.... It is good if you can read this much bani; however my question is 2 fold: For e.g it says at the end of chaupai sahib - "Ho Jo Ja Ki EIK bar Chaupai Ko Kahe" Just one if you read this...... so why do we read it so many times; or are advised to do so. Where does this comes from Second Part: With the same theme; how come no one says read Rehras sahib x number of times; or read Kirtan Sohila x number of times. At least I have never heard this. Just want to get your views, and thoughts; appreciate if we could avoid criticism of any sort in this thread. Thanks Fateh....
  19. Great explanations. However my question is and was very simple. Look at the SGPC Web site: Vaisakhi 2014 is listed on the 13th of April 2014. Go to any SGPC Gurudwara: Vaisakhi 2014 is celebrated on the 14th April 2014. Why? Just Why? Secondly: For ppl causing this confusion; interesting to know which calendar do you live your day to day life with. Me still unhappy as I dont have the answer! Fateh . . . .
  20. Fateh . . . The confusion over the dates related to sikh historic events continues. I look at the Nanakshai Jantri at SGPC.net where it states that Vaisakhi is on 13th Apr 2014; where as other websites and other information reports this to be on the 14th Apr 2014 http://www.calendarlabs.com/calendars/religious/sikh-calendar.php Frustrating to the least; the world must be having at Sikhs who cant even agree on having an agreed date for their own events; let alone other matters. Divide and rule surely comes to mind. My rant for the day I guess. Fateh . . . .
  21. Found it: http://d-j-punjab.com/3678/get-Sarsa%20De%20Paniyan-Bhai%20Harjinder%20Singh%20Ji%20(Sri%20Nagar%20Wale)-songs.html
  22. Fateh I am searching for the following religious songs / album; think it was by Harjinder Singh ji SriNagar vale but cant seem to find it. All i remember is the following track from it - Dekh maye mariye rang kartar de; likhe ne nasseb kiven ajit teh jhujhar de. Any direction/comments/advise welcome. BTW noticed that the main section of Shabad Requests is now gone from the main Sikhsangat Page. Fateh . . .
  23. Fateh . . . Watching sikh channel and the sikh museum delhi is being presented. Quite a valiant effort. Comment/observation: We (as sikhs) do not believe in us having paintings of our Gurus as this leads to another debate. . . .. . then how come on this hand I am to explain to others why are we contradicting our own decision. Pls note: I do know that this is an easier way to explain history etc. etc... but will like to hear sangats views/comments on this Fateh ..
