WJKK WJKF After watching this all I can say is "What the :o " Those 'Sikhs' need to be fixed up. Its because we let the small things slide that these big things occur. We're too lenient!!! We're just relying on people in India to sort this out because what can we do here when we are not living in Punjab? Seriously i'm asking the question!!! More Parchaar is needed in India (and not just in Punjab). Gurdwarae in countries outside India need to step up and contribute towards parchar back 'home' instead of making massive Gurdwarae with hardly any Sikhi in them. Imagine just in the UK if all Gurdwarae gave £1000/month and then you converted that into rupees!!! I'm just thinking out loud I guess. All I can say (and this includes me) is do your Path and make sure you represent Sikhi properly in your daily lives. WJKK WJKF

WJKK WJKF The new Gurdwara in Leamington is also having issues. they are likely to use the old Gurdwara site (down the rd) as a hall for weddings. Initially this will be veggie only events (so that everyone agrees) but will not stop families who want to book the hall to bring in meat and alcohol. For all the beauty of the building its useless if there's no Sikhi within it. Also there is currently a court case happening between committee members who are arguing over this issue. As per usual the main arguments are: - = Its down the road, not in the Gurdwara complex = The committee members that paid substantial funds towards the building feel that they have the right to do whatever thjey want. = The local sangat want it, so what the problem However, there are some Local elder Singhs that are clued up and have proper pyaar for Sikhi. But I still think it'll be down to the young local sangat to do what they can to stop this issue even getting to the stage that other Gurudwarae are at. WJKK WJKF

I was thinking of when it would be best to stop the thread, in terms of when will we know if all possible Gurudwarae or associations where this is happening are listed. I started this thread on Tuesday 22nd June and I'll give it until Tuesday 29th for all sangat to find out and post any other Gurudwarae. You've got the whole weekend and a few days to post. What will happen after this list is compiled is yet to be discussed, but I think that just by producing this list we've moved a step closer to stopping this once and for all. WJKK WJKF This is beyond a joke. First they have a meeting and you'd think that although its obvious what they should do, they will vote against it, and now they vote for it!!! I agree with the sangat that something needs to be done, but not just locally but nationwide (if not internationally). Like someone said earlier there are numerous halls like this dotted around the country. I personally dont care whether the hall is on the premises, next door or down the road. if the building, committee and/or sangat donations are affiliated with the 'party hall' then it is Gurudwara's property and hence it is WRONG. Its been appening unde our noses for years, but he majority tend to either ignore it or bruh it under the carpet. This beadbi is NO DIFFERENT to what organisations like Respect 4 Guru Granth Sahib (R4G) try to stop. Taking Mahara to place where drinking, smoking and other ANTI-SIKH activities ae taking place.
