  1. I'm just getting so tired of people saying they are Sikhs, yet they sit in on judgement all the time. Whatever happened, has happened, plus the dude talking about this stuff happening in pinds being a big deal??? I think he's been living on another planet, it happens even MORE in India, and in much worse sorts of scenarios as well, and there seems to be alot of kids involved. This is harsh but its the truth. No point living in Kaljug but sitting in ignorance of it, you got to know your enemy. Whether its true or not, the girl thinks she might have a baby inside, the guy is 22 years old and no one has mentioned him yet (I wonder why :T: ) and people here have no place in their hearts to try to think of some help for her. I wonder if people think being Sikh means to be perfect first time round? Or is it simply to learn. I think she needs to see a doctor and get it checked out first. Why worry about something if its not there?
  2. lol...forget that.... Dhan Guru Nanak Dev Ji himself went and gave darshan and blessings to Kauda Rakhsh a man who ATE PEOPLE!!!! Never mind in the form (as it happened he was trying to eat Bhai Mardana at the time..or so I heard) he still did it. B) Isn't it wrong of Sikhs to idol worship? A picture is after all only a picture. It is not the Guru. Thank Vaheguru Guru Nanak Dev Ji was/is so compassionate. We seem to have fogotten that quality.
  3. I really would recommend the Sri Dasam Granth Translation by Dr Jodh Singh and Dharam Singh. When you read the Akaal Ustat. Vaheguru. The anand .......... B)
  4. Mkhalsa, only a fool would stand in a battle field twirling their kirpan where bullets are raining down on them, I doubt they would even get to the battlefield in the first place.... Its not all about twirling a kirpan. What you suggested was good, even Guru Gobind Singh Ji had a bandook (gun - I am told) and used it. Guns are also within the scope of Shastar Vidiya, as is battle strategy. Jet fighter training sounds good. However, this big "battle" may be beyond our lifetime, yet the guy (with the knife) trying to rape/attack us may be right around the corner. Tanks, jet fighters and possibly guns would be of no use there. then we're fighting for our life/dignity/honour with every fighting skill we learnt. I would just like to recommend caution also, people should make up their own minds as to what is right and wrong based on their own research. Just because your teacher may eat meat, doesnt mean its right for you to. There are situations/circumstances/lifestyles/outcomes that may be different for both student and teacher. Just thought I would add that in for the kids. B)
  5. Dear me. Ok, my guess would be a basic kirpan or talwar is curved because it makes it easier to chop/slice off someone's head and run off quick time. People here seem to think best thing is to "stick" their kirpan into the opponent. Theres no point in me saying otherwise, best thing is to go and learn about types of weapons and their purpose and where possible learn from someone who has studied their use and strengths. Also learn about pulse points where it might be useful to "put pointy bit in". Someone mentioned Guru Gobind Singh Ji, well, excuse me, if we want to imitate or be his roop then we must also see WHAT OTHER weapons were standard on Guru Jee's person and his Singhs. Things like katar, talwar, peshkabj, chakkars, nakhas?, teer, etc.....can we also imitate his way in wearing these also? Are we up to that? Do we train martially? We are forgetting this is his specialist army of God. An army is nothing without training - physically and mentally, fearlessness, and further more an army of God would naturally contain some of God's own virtues, compassion, no hate, no fear. Also, would anyone say God's army were afraid of demons? Certainly not! Why not make those demons part of the self and use them as seva aswell? Get them to mutha tek to the almighty! If you get me. lol.
  6. Aman, it is good to get vidiya of self defence, but we must also not blindly follow, our path is our own. It is good to be objective. I can see what you mean, but always tread with caution where people are telling you things. Learn and research. Thats the best advice.
  7. It sounds like you are talking of Mahant Kirpal Das Ji an Udasi whose followers deserted Guru Ji at the time of battle but who remained steadfast by the Guru's side. He, with a salotar only (stick/club) burst open the head of the enemy/hill raja like a watermelon. Guru Jee praises Mahant Kirpal Das. It is wrong to assume Udasi's never learnt how to fight, alot of them did. And still do. They are just gupt about it, don't make a song and dance about knowing things. Nice point Chamkila. Nowadays, how many Sikhs see their Guru as hazar Nazur and knower of all? If they did, wouldnt they be training and doing exercise? Meditating and contemplating bani? Seva and getting knowledge? Most of all, not judging, being humble and contemplating naam, the life source of any Gursikh.
  8. Does anybody think that if a person has a kirpan and is up against someone who is skilled in using them (or has had relevant practice) the opponent will very easily take the kirpan from them. Try this with your friends as a training point and see how easy it is. To die from your own kirpan is besti...I cannot see Guru Jee applauding that fact of his Sikh. (ie Warrior student of his)
  9. I don't see much beyond what you can find in books, and even there they tell you more i.e the white petal lotus in your mutha area that you can see with meditation.
  10. You have just contradicted yourself Mkhalsa. If you want to call someone a nang, call it to their face like a khalsa instead of behind a computer screen.
  11. The way niranjana tells it is the way I can see it. Its so obvious! Its like a fashion statement nowadays to tie a huge bhunga or wear the blue bana. And its a sad fact that those that actually hate nihangs when confronted with them are at such a loss with what to tie on their heads and miss the dumalla (and its associated status, feeling of superiority) so much that they cannot resist tying it again but skirting around the hypocrisy by saying they actually do respect nihangs, but only those that fall into their way of thinking. hehehehe, NO ONE on this site is important enough for me to rise to any pathetic chest beating antics.
  12. I just cannot believe it, if this isn't hypocrisy I don' t know what is. If you hate nihangs so much and keep calling the ones you do not agree with 'nangs' then take off their bana. Simple. Do you agree that when people look at you, they must think they are looking at a nihang khalsa?
  13. daughter, they do it because they know rather than intelligent debate, they will just be accused, judged and be insulted. I don't know how you've missed it, but it seems that people are judged here very easily rather than listened to. hmmm. :T: anyways, anyone with those quotes?
  14. cyber wolf, do you know something? I have a sneaky suspicion that its all god's play, all of it, even what we do not understand, but that doesn't make God a bad person/light cus what about u? he's in you too, and he can hear you when your're sad and when you wish to die. Talk to god.
  15. to be honest, I wonder whether any of you guys realise what a big thing it is to be part of the khalsa, the moral, physical, spiritual training from what I can gather is such that at the moment I cannot see more than 2 khalsa and one trainee khalsa (who wants to take amrit) out of the whole bunch of Singhs I have seen. I see it like this, when Guru Gobind Singh Ji said Khalsa Mero Roop hai khaas, that is his own roop, that means, fearless, without hate, pure humbleness, training, hunting, learning (Guru Gobind Singh Ji I am sure learnt lots of languages and studied lots of scriptures and religions) seva, a physique of a true warrior, and being totally in love with Vaheguru and satsang. umm, maybe I am out of order to expect so much from khalsa, but....I don't put my guru down like that. how many of these do u know?
  16. does anyone know what Guru Gobind Singh Ji writes in the Sarbloh Granth about his Khalsa? Khalsa being army of warriors (of Vaheguru) perhaps it would be better for someone to actually write about what Guru Ji says himself. This is a genuine request. Rather than essays/personal opinions these sorts of references are reliable. B) The one I mean "khalsa mero roop hai khaas, khalse mai ho karo nivaas, etc" but there must be loads more stuff about the true Khalsa and what is expected of them in there. Hands up who's read Sarbloh Granth and got education about it (or who even knows what I'm talking about) I am too lazy to go and find out for myself which is why I am asking the question and relying on some khalsa to let me (and the sangat) know.
  17. ak-47 thanks for bringing up this topic, let me tell the sangat what has happened from my perspective. Every time a woman has tried to represent females in the gurdwara or any public high flying role (thus being a role model) she has been shot down by...you guessed it, sikh men with beards and turbans. Insults, slander, personal attacks, intimidation and manipulation will and has been used by lots of sikh men to reduce or demeen women back down the scale to the point where they are satisfied women should be. Many women just cannot and will not take this sort of behaviour. However in regards to the education of her children, the majority of sikh women I see have so much to do with regards to work (employement), cooking, cleaning, feeding, doing stuff for inlaws, looking after kids, and generally running around with no time for education for their children. It shouldn't be like this when both husband and wife support each other, but thats for the future. Right now, and in the past, it hasn't happened. I think women have done the best they can. :T: --------- [ADMIN NOTE] : DO NOT THROW INSULT ON SIkh men with Turban and beard. Just letting you go th is time !
  18. i would admit it if i was, but i think lalleshvari has enough issues on another site! B)
  19. this is one thing im not gonna bother about. summeet penji, i didnt mean to insult ya. B)
  20. i cannot see what kind of sex lives you guys have within ur marriages but women have s.e.x.u.a.l. needs too. This attitude is totally backwards. (with reference to mkhalsa's post) Imagine being married and not enjoying sex!!!! Totally wrong!
  21. why are you talking about people when they are not even here?
