  1. The caleb project in India is trying to put doubt in gullible sikh minds. I believe that the christian missionaries have finally started making inroads into Punjab: http://www.calebproject.org/main.php/news_..._need_for_grace
  2. This one has been posted on youtube by the same person who posted the earlier parbhat pheri.. Like I said before, each house that the prabhat pheri goes to has a different set-up, which in this case is the proper way, rather than a photo.
  3. No. 12 on Harmeet Singh's Post. Now that's a pick up line I would like to hear or witness. I wonder if any of this baba's followers have used it. :D "The baba's follower" - - "a girl"
  4. VEER I HAVE BEEN MANY TIMES IN PRIBAT PHERI IN MY VILLAGE: BUT WE NEVER PRAYED TO PICTURES lol :D WE TOOK NISHAN SAHIB JI WITH US.AND I STILL SAY: IT IS ANOTHER FEELING: EVERYONE SHOULD TRY, next time when i am in punjab,i willl go again Yeah, I have been in a few back in Punjab. And you are right, you just get sucked in with the pyaar and dedication the sangat have. It is definetly another feeling.
  5. Veer, I am not justifying praying to Guru Sahibs photo as i am against it. I do believe there is difference between praying to Guru Ji's picture and praying infront of Guru Ji's picture. I think we should make this distinction. If one is praying to the picture, then yes, it is idol worship. Anyways, I apologize for explaining praphat pheri to you. Maybe you knew about it, but many other younger ones probably didn't. And I wasn't aware that Calgary was big on prabhat pheris. Just to end: "The key that opened my heart was the way they just loved everyone and anyone regardless of how much simran they did, or what religion they were. The lesson that I have learned is that every one person is their own and they have the right to find their own way to practice sikhi. Why should I impose my beliefs on someone? A person is an individual child of god who has the right to practice however he or she wants. I also realized that it iridiculousas to interfere or pasjudgmentsts on another individual. Who am I to say what is right or wrong. There is only one way to god, and that is through love. Only through love will you be able to touch another persons heart. Only through love will people listen to you. Not througjudgmentsts." If you remember, the above are your own words veerji..... That said, I agree with you when you say that a Sikh should be a proper Sikh, and a hindu should be a proper hindu.
  6. No point...i have tried too Any intelligent responses that effectively shows their lies are edited or deleted. And on top of that, they keep challenging everyone to prove them wrong. . They have this one thread asking, "Who is Radhasoami here". Basically all the "so called sikhs" that agree with this site have replied in there saying that they are. That explains, eh?
  7. Koyee fark nayee paindha veera. I just think that this youtube video is taken out of context. What I mean is that each house has a different set-up. Some people have maharaj the saroop, so when the prabhat pheri enters they sit around the Guru Granth Sahib Ji Maharaj. Alternatively, sometimes when the prabhat pheri enters someone house, the house owners have already set-up a photo on a table and created an open space for the sangat to sit. The sangat does not turn around and leave as soon as they see the photo. They sit down, do the kirtan, spend 10 minutes in that house, and then move on to the next house which might have an entirely different set-up prepared for the prabhat pheri sangat.
  8. Prabhat Pheri is a form of community prayer where the Sikhs in a certain area get up early in the morning (4 am mostly) and start walking from house to house singing Kirtan, and devotional songs together. As they go to each house, the families go on joining the group. The group then continues walking and singing Kirtan till they reach a Gurudwara where the programme ends with prayers and ardas. For a parbhat pheri to come to your house is a great occasion. When they leave, you can join them and go to the next house. Each house that a prabhat pheri visits has a different set-up for the sangat to sit and do kirtan, which in this case is a photo of Guru Nanak Dev Ji. Keep in mind, that the parbhat feri does not specifically go to only sikh houses but also hindu houses.
  9. We all are indebted to our forefathers that fought in the wars. However, as you said that "HRH" the queen INVITED your forefathers. Your forefathers had the choice to return to their native places, but they accepted what was offered. If some more help was provided at that time, I doubt whether it would be refused. For example, it would be stupid of me not to accept extra health benefits if they are available to me at work, or it would be stupid of me not to accept montary help for my education if it available at my university. It has nothing to do with self pride. Naale kee tera te kee mera. If the new immigrants are getting some help from the government, then why are our tails burning. It might seem unfair but jo dhindha hai, waheguroo dhindha hai. We should stop harping on our forefathers achievements as we won't be able to match even 10% of what they did.
  10. What stupidity !! Anyways, on a side note, our city just went smoke free starting Jan 1st. So no smoking in bars, pubs, or any public places. However, this arab hookah place in the city is trying to get an excemption. The owner was on radio last night and said that they have switched to herbal hookah in the meantime, which gives the same affect but is not tobacco at all.
  11. Now imagine that you are a white guy in 1950 saying the same stuff to your forefathers.
  12. It seems like not many over here have been in an actual prabhat feri. Please understand what it actually is in the first place.
  13. His actual name is Latif Muhammed, but he changed his name to Kuldip Manak when he became a singer. He is a very gifted singer, no doubt, but far from a Sikh. He is quite a heavy drinker, and he does not or can not sing untill he's downed a few shots (i know and have seen this personally). Most likely, he sang this song totally drunk too. Anyways, he is still a very gifted artist.
  14. stop this #1 attitude. If you think that your lifestyle is better then you should go thank your parents who were probably at the same stage (15-20 years ago) as the people you are making fun of.
  15. We will always find ways to distinguish and divide ourselves. If it is not Jatt/Ramgharia, or Majha/Malwa/Doaba, then it is western/freshie. :homer :D
  16. How are you disrespecting it? Do I sense guilt? I always thought that becoming a gursikh was taking a step forward, not a move back as you suggest. Bro, I am confused with the above comments. What is it that you want to do, and be a part of the "western" world, that you can not do while keeping your turban? You can pretty much do everything in the "western" world while keeping your turban. Can you please elaborate on what you want to do that disrespects (in your mind) your sikhi? You said "disrespecting it as in doing things sikhs should avoid". That to me would mean smoking etc. If such is the case, I suggest you run to the nearest barber, as I wouldn't want to see a turbaned guy smoking. Pardon my assumption.
  17. Everything in the human body is proportional, i.e. there is a certain ratio between height, size of feet, size of hands etc etc. Guru Gobind Singh Ji's chola, clothes, shoes, gloves, turbans, and weapons, are preserved to this day. If some one takes these items and does some research, it is possible to find out the exact body shape of Guru Gobind Singh Ji. On a related note, couple of years ago, the BBC used some forensic techniques to come up with what Jesus looked like: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/1244037.stm
