  1. I think people need to be a little careful of making definitive comments about some internet posted image as authentic or not. Anyone remember the foolishness about the so called 'photo of M. ranjit Singh and Hari Singh Nalua'? It needs to be looked into by people with the gian to make a judgment regarding authenticity.
  2. We should note that Ouseley's 1797 book says: 'The portraits are engraved from an Indian original painting in the editor's collection.' So it is an engraved copy of an original. Still a very interesting, early portrait, that predates any significant British influence on Sikhs by half a century. Some researcher needs to find this guys descendants and see if they have more details on the painting - they may even have the original spoken of in their archive?
  3. Priceless. Can someone explain what a seli topi is?
  4. Where does that put us as a minority group whose now spread itself throughout the globe? Aren't we 'Biharis' out here in the west?
  5. Let's be frank, some areas of the UK are better in terms of cohesion than others. Making blanket statements is dumb.
  6. Addition: Straight up. You're going on about the above, but what about the hundred and one other rubbish things apnay get up to that are played down. The female foeticide, daily greed and selfishness, disgusting casteism that even leads to rape and sexual abuse of the females of perceived 'lower caste.' It looks like the above is an issue for some people because the way it's flashed all over the media and makes them feel embarrassed because it's in their face, but we can ignore a hundred and one other arguably worse, niggling, longstanding issues amongst us because 'out of sight, out of mind'?
  7. ^^ I hear that. It's just that you see so much 'grey' stuff being done by apnay (even so called 'respectable' ones), that the 'whiter than white' model of a Sikh starts to look like some sort of fictional, idealised image far removed from ground reality.
  8. Maybe we should! When has hiding and ignoring issues ever not come back to haunt us - big time!
  9. Apnay have NEVER struck me as being any less corruptible than any other Indians. Given our 'ambitious nature', they are as bad, if not worse than the next man. Maybe it's time for some of us to take the rose tinted glasses off?
  10. Proactive Your notion that the Panjabi peasantry in pinds are starving huddled masses is comical. Plenty make a good living. Sure, some of the smaller landholders may not be in a viable position but one of my points (that I thought I made clearly) was that jumping to the UK, with all the eastern European competition without bothering to do your homework and upping your prospects by learning some trade at some rudimentary level is a FOOL'S move. They could easily do this, but don't want to. You, probably being from an hogi peasant background yourself probably can't see this because it seems to be an oversight made by every last pendu farmer type. Some sort of collective blindness? I never said all freshies were here to pull white girls, so you can stop making 'statements' ups. That being said, come out to Ilford (not that I recommend it!) on a weekend evening and you'll see PLENTY trying. As for faujis not having land back home, watch this interview for yourself. You're probably going to make out like he is making it up I guess, so that you can maintain your rubbish fiction. Underlying all of this is the fact that a lot jat people in pinds backhome, need to learn to live within their means i.e. humbly, and maybe chasing unrealistic dreams is a fool's game. There is no harm in putting the fact that people should do their homework before they jump into a situation, out there! For the time being, until things improve here, freshies should avoid the UK and head for Canada or the US if they want better opportunities, unless they have connections here that can ensure that they don't end up risking homelessness and whatnot. Oh yeah, another thing you overlook is how some well heeled families have shipped out their 'amlee' spoilt junky sons out here in desperation. Again, I'm not saying that help should not be given but facing up to some bitter truths isn't a bad idea either. Plus I have to ask, are some of you 'proud farmers' only really bothered because these guys are fellow 'sons of peasants'?
  11. So what? The government here would have probably squandered that money on embarking on stupid wars (which they would end up losing anyway). I know that what these guys have done isn't angelic but they are no Tony Blairs or Jimmy Savilles either.
  12. Sure, maybe in your dream world all the immigrants are simple, poverty stricken peasants just trying to make a living, but unlike yourself, I've mixed with them, a lot. You get all sorts, the sons of police officers and army men aren't uncommon. And yes, sons of affluent zamindaars too. Plus, you know, maybe you're a bit a slow, but you can clearly tell poverty from back home, and you can clearly tell those who come from affluent backgrounds by the way they carry themselves and the pampered look about them. Poverty and struggle leaves marks on people - even in the so-called first world! You can see this all over the East End - similarly a prosperous upbringing is also clearly noticeable. Many of the guys I have encountered aren't the 'poor, struggling farmer your trying to paint above. Some of them have paid BIG MONEY to get here and come from well heeled families. They have enough over there not to be considered 'struggling' or 'humble' in any respective sense. Of course I'm not every last fauji is like this, but you're living in denial if you fail to see that a fair few of those coming over are from privileged backgrounds backhome and not the creatures of your imagination. The real poor of Panjab couldn't dream of getting here. A fair, few of the guys I meet will openly tell you they came here for 'shoonk' of coming abroad. And please don't 'clutch your handbag to your chest aghast' and start throwing around accusations of being a 'racist' or 'self-hater' just because I've made a few observations based on real-life, on the ground interactions and experiences that don't fit into your own 'dreamland narrative'.
  13. You need to realise, our society produces spoiled brats like a conveyor belt.
  14. The guys who work on sites generally don't have academic/study skills. I mean the ones from rich families.
  15. You seriously think the average pendu freshies can handle A Levels!!!
  16. It's not weird at all. It's very common. A lot of those guys I've met on sites come from well heeled, rich families who, frankly, don't really need to 'escape' Panjab to avoid poverty or any discomfort. Let's be frank, we have some really imbecilic mentalities amongst our lot. I mean, the amount some of them pay to get smuggled abroad could have been spent on education. I think they see this place as some sort of 'get rich quick scheme'?
  17. West London doesn't seem to have a clue about what he is talking about.
  18. Let's not beat around the bush. Given the kind of sustained, ignorant nonsense this community have been on the receiving end of by other horrible, haughty Sikhs for a good while now, is it really a surprise that they aren't running into our arms now? 'Once bitten, twice shy' as the saying goes. Contrast that to how they are treated by apnay these days. We've gone seriously astray - not them. They've just reacted to our buckwaas. Given that, it is ridiculous when people try to vilify them for walking out on being treated like third rate scum. What kind of twisted mind actually thinks that they should 'grin and bear' that kind of crap 'for the sake of the panth'?? I'd leave myself if I was getting sustained, horrible treatment like that - how the hell can I blame them? And I hope no pindu imbecile pulls out that nonsense about 'oh, oh, your faith must be weak then!' like our faith ever excused our own lot treating others amongst us like scum. Gareeb niwaaz anyone?
  19. ^^^ I hear that. but one of the few things we have going for us is that we (most of us anyway) haven't got that deeply rooted terror of su//ay that Europeans have probably as a consequence of getting their backsides handed to them during the crusades and now in Iraq/Afghanistan. If we lose that confidence it will make things worse. I've said before on other forums, one of the number one contributing factors to wahhabi types feeding and fueling themselves is Eurotrash 'foreign policy' which gives them a just cause on a plate. Whitey is no better than su//ay in terms of mischief. If we are destined to kick off - maybe inevitably, what choice do we have but to do it bravely, even if we are outnumbered. Plus you are wrong, read his post, he turns goray into victims of su//ay without any serious criticism of their own hand in matters. I think he is one of those jat sycophant types. There are plenty about. Where are Babbari types when you need them huh? lol
  20. Like the UK didn't bring this on itself in anyway by jumping into ill thought, dubious, resource motivated (oil everyone!) wars in Arab lands - as well trying to pathetically measure swords with Afghans by sending simple, naively patriotic white boys (who'd struggle with gaining GCSE's) to fight abroad. Sadly for them kismet just had it that this would happen when the western banking system would collapse, itself due to the arrogance and irresponsibility of white bankers. Such is luck. Point is that blaming everything on Muslims is a mug's game. There is plenty of blame laying closer to home (for the indigenous that is). Some of you sycophantic peasants would do well to extract your tongues from the metaphoric Anglo (sinking) backside by the way - but maybe that's hard for you? A genetic thing perhaps? lol If the British ship is sinking, the Brits at the helm MUST take the blame for it. Brits have created plenty of problems abroad for a few centuries now, karma was bound to kick in sooner or later.
  21. Read this, it's that modern jat culture crap we were talking about in the Bobby Friction thread. ਖਾਣ ਬਕਰੇ, ਪੀਣ ਸ਼ਰਾਬਾਂ ਪੁਤ ਜੱਟਾਂ ਦੇ!!! Is coming back to haunt us. So we are like babies now, and get depressed whenever our dreams are thwarted........... Maybe we need to readjust our 'aspirations' a bit? Sometimes I land a top, well paying job, sometimes I'm grafting hard in the cold. I adjust my lifestyle accordingly. Get where I'm going with this??
  22. I funded myself through uni by working in warehouses - for Panjabis who aren't exactly 'on point' when it comes to workers rights (but I still had fun and appreciate how those days taught me so much). I'm well educated, but I still do stints on building sites (because I'm a man like that). We know your father/grandfather (??) sucked up to some British ex-military type to get work in some factory or would have ended up scrubbing toilets in Heathrow or minicab driving like other unskilled hogis. I've worked with the older generation on sites and witnessed the trade myself growing up as the majority of work for Sikhs in East London was construction in the 70s/80s. Your family had to leave this area because they didn't have the skills to stick around and moved to West London (your own admissions). Plus I've worked with todays freshies in Sikh firms. To make out that old schoolers had it easy just highlights you how ignorant you are. They worked 7 days a week, including evenings. On sites in the day and private work at night. That's how they got set up here. Again if you think that is easy, it says a lot about you. And despite all of your rantings about the established generation here, I see relatively recently arrived faujis who've established themselves in a few years (lucky them) turn around and abuse the hell out of a next fauji they hire ALL THE TIME. They are ALL jat, so maybe they are just doing what they are culturally accustomed to doing to 'village menials' amongst themselves now? The big thing people like to ignore here is how our own people are too damn ignorant to learn a trade over there, BEFORE they 'bootha chuck' and smuggle their unskilled selves here. They ALL know they will probably be doing construction work here but are to damn lazy, ignorant, jumped up to learn a trade before they jump on the boat or the back of a lorry. Explain that stupidity!
  23. Had a thought I had to share. My parent's generation (from back home), for all their faults never baulked at doing farm work or construction work back home - even if it wasn't for a massive fortune. So they didn't consider themselves above such things back home. Contrast that to the jumped up crap we get from apnay back home nowadays.
  24. I tell you what plays a big part in this! This imagined 'greatness' to many pindus have where they believe they are 'sons of the lord of the manor' and thus beneath doing such work back home. But they'll come here and work like dogs in cement no problem. Lack of humility can be an issue. And this is yet another consequence of filling ignorant people's heads up with illusions of grandeur which are far removed from the truth/reality.
