  2. Waheguru Here is a great book by Damdami Taksal Gurmat Bajay Shabad Anhaad [scribd][/scribd]
  3. Share ... for most people its weight loss. Guru Nanak devji says ' "Dhrig eheva jeeveiya jit khai vadaiyaa pet" Having pot belly is not just a health concern , its also against gurmat as it symbolizes indulgence in pleasures of tongue. It also goes against - "Alap ahaari sulabh si nidra " and "thora save thora hee khave" From my experience I alwyas had a pot belly before i went vegan .... animal fats are extremely hard to burn off ......so quit that dairy and see ur didh disappear ... and the cows will be so much happier too...
  4. Beautiful. Dhan Sikhi. We definitely need more Parchaar all over the world as seen in our past history.
  5. The political correctness is ruining our Nation. The 'all religion leading to God' mentality is a major cause for inter-faith marriages and conversions of Sikhs. The idea does not find any place in Gurmat, for religious practices of Islam, Hinduism, Jainism were rejected and heavily criticised in Dhur Ki Bani, Guru Granth Sahib. The Gurus and Bhagats rejecting Islam (Hajj, Circumcision and Ramadan) I do not keep fasts, nor do I observe the month of Ramadaan. (M5, 1136, Guru Granth Sahib) Because of the love of woman, circumcision is done; I don't believe in it, O Siblings of Destiny. Devotee Kabir (Bhagat Kabeer, 477, Guru Granth Sahib) The Gurus and Bhagats rejecting Hinduism (Idol Worship, Teerath Yatra, Ekadashi fast amongst others) I have stopped fasting on Ekadashi; why should I bother to go on Teerath to sacred shrines? (Bhagat Naamdev, 718, Guru Granth Sahib) O brother, why worship idols of gods and goddesses, what can you ask of them and what can they give to you? What is the use of washing stones, which themselves drown in water? (M1, 637, Guru Granth Sahib) I have searched many Shastars and Simrtis, they do not show the way to God, but contemplation on God is invaluable. (M5, 264, Guru Granth Sahib) Guru Nanak Sahib's satire of Jainism (about 5 million followers) Shalok, First Mehl: They pluck the hair out of their heads, and drink in filthy water; they beg endlessly and eat the garbage which others have thrown away. They spread manure, they suck in rotting smells, and they are afraid of clean water. Their hands are smeared with ashes, and the hair on their heads is plucked out-they are like sheep! They have renounced the lifestyle of their mothers and fathers, and their families and relatives cry out in distress. ... (M1, 148, Guru Granth Sahib Ji)

  9. Waheguru ji ka Khalsa Waheguru ji ki Fateh, Dear Sadh Sangat Ji, Thanks for helping me with my last gupt post....( Help! My Life, Naam Kamai And Gur Sikhi Prachar ) With the Grace of Guru Sahib ji , i have decided to do SEVA and help SIKHS living in Remote Areas of Rajasthan (Pakistan Border Area) India and SIKHS living along with Ghaghar River.... !!! PLEASE POST YOUR SUGGETION, COMMENTS about this Project !!! We will need Support and Fundraising help from Sikh Sangat. The Ghaghar River flows through Rajasthan's Sri Ganganagar District towards Pakistan. This river is named Ghaghar River because it was use to flow like A women wearing Skirt doing Whirly dance. Water spins very fast due to whirly effect and it starts cutting the soil/ shores and many kilometres long land will suddenly get sunk into river water. Story of this Area : It is said that one day Dasven Patshah Dhan Dhan Sti Guru Gobind Singh ji was going through this area with his Sikhs. Guru ji and sikhs started to cross the Ghaghar river in Bedis and 40 Sikhs of Guru ji stuck in the Ghumangheri (swirling water), sunk, and died. This happened between two places known as Malla Tibba and Jhanda Tibba. Guru ji then gave Shrap to the Ghaghar river that - O River You will Dry one day, my Sikhs will come here, they will Rip your chest and they will do khethi ( farming) on your chest. River asked in reply Sachhe patshah when i will flow again. Guru ji said you will flow very occasionally. Since after that many Sikhs settled in this area and started doing farming Inside and along the river. I was born and grown in this area. I have countless number of farms ( even many villages) are actually inside the river flow area ( or between both shores of the river) When heavy rain comes in Punjab , they put excessive water into Ghaghar river ( it happens 2-3 times in every 5-7 years) and it supplies minerals and water for farming properties in the river. This area is Mini Punjab of Rajasthan. Coz it gives a big amount of crops (Wheat, Cotton, Mustard, Pulses, etc.), fruits like orange, sugar cans and other things to Whole Rajasthan. Sadly - There is NO GOVERNMENT SUPPORT to this area, no facilities, not very good hospitals, not good education, bad roads, even not enough volume of water is supplied trough Farming Canals due to Politics of Rajasthan government. This area is self developed by local people. When farmers put their seeds in their fields, government cuts down the water supply form many days to months. About Sikhs living in the Area and common issues: Most Sikhs are farmer. There is no Gur Sikhi Prachar in the Area, Most Sikhs have forgotten their real Values and going on the path of Patit Puna. Don’t ask about Young Generation. There is Theka (bottle shop) in every small village. But this area is far away from big intoxications / drugs. Killing of Unborn Daughters in Sikh Families is very common in this area. Rude culture / DAWRY system - Grooms Family asking for Meat, Chickens, Branded Wines, Car/Motorbikes, Cash and arrangements of Female Dancers is very common. Needs: There is a big need of Gur Sikhi Prachar and to develop personal links with Sikhs in the area. There is a big demand for a good Hospital. Closet good hospital with emergency facilities PMB (prince bijaysingh memorial) hospital, Bikaner. Which is 163kms away from Gharsana, 186kms from Anupgarh. Distance calcution Source: http://www.distancesbetween.com/distance-between/distance-from-bikaner-to-gharsana/164793/r3/ Sikh Awareness. Our project (currently on rough paper) : Stage #1 1. Whenever a Sikh wanted to build a house , Guru ji and sadh sangat will go to that Sikh's house and sadh sangat will give him 1 rupee and 1 brick , thus that Sikh will have 1000 Rupees and 1000 bricks to build his house. 10. What are the six Hindu schools? Are they associated with Hindu mentality or faith? What are their differences and similarities with Gurmat? How does Gurmat view them? Do they lead to sachkhand as Gurmat does?

  15. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh ji, I've been attending weddings since ever basically lol typical. But its soon to be my own. So basically someone in the family found/recomended a girl for me to my parents and things got rolling from there. I plan to take Amrit in the near future. I want to get into keeping rehit before i take Amrit so i know i can commit to keeping rehit instead of taking Amrit and then seeing if i can keep it or not. The proposed girl for me is not kesdhari at the moment. I'm hoping here journey will lead her onto this path soon. Now both families are typically punjabi. Hardcore partiers etc. 1) I just want the Anand Karaj to take place, Guru ka Langar and we all go home. I realize this is a dream world fantasy of mine. Does anyone think this could be possible? I dont listen to music, i dont dance drink or eat forbidden food- i dont want all this to take over my own wedding. So can there be a compromise as im pretty sure both families will never agree to a total no party policy. Hows no meat no alcohol and i will not be dancing like a lunitic? Just food, deafening music and people dancing... And when should i make all this clear to the girls family? I think this could potentially be a deal breaker. 2) Is the Kurmai and Chunni ceremony Gurmat? I've seen how the groom is given dried fruits nuts etc in his palla/parna thing and then fed a shuwara/dried date. I don't understand what this represents so am questioning whether this is Gurmat at all. I've seen this take place in the Darbar Sahib. What is this all about? And can I take part in all this? 3) The maiya/mehndi which takes place on the days leading to the wedding. Haldi doh stuff is applied to the groom/bride-to-be. I really dont fancy that. Too intimate and spray on fake tan would do the same job! Pretty sure this is not Gurmat. 4) Groom & Kalgi- this is a no no right? How come this happens all too often? Why is nothing said/explained to sangat before/during the Anand Karaj? And the groom holds a sword- any reason? 5) Can this all work out between me, a kesdhari hoping to soon take Amrit, and a non kesdhari girl? Pul chuk maaf ji.

  17. How would Gurmat refute the story of prahlad? I know it's mentioned in Bani but how is it viewed in difference to Hinduism?
