  1. Waheguru ji Khalsa waheguru ji fathe I want to know is it bad to do hunger strike like lots of Bhai doing in our guru granth sahib it doesn't says about hunger strike I wanted your thoughts please thanks

  3. Wjkk Wjkf Is it true.. that specific pauris and gurubanis have specific effects and powers.. For instance it says that if you read the 25th pauri you will obtain wealth, need , virtue , estate .. or pauri 33 which supposedly elimates your karmas, or 38 gives you the knowledge and power to write your own destiny.. And jaap sahib; rouses your soul and allows you to obtain ridi sidi powers... So do specific banis and or specific pauris have such an effect, or should we just mediate on God and ask him for whatever we need? The effect of pauri and banis was written by yogis bhajan Singh.. aren't Sikhs against yogis and thier ways? So is he correct in what he says about the bani and its effects? Or is their an misconception? All help from gyanis, and other enlightened people will be very much appreciated thanks you.
  4. Quick question does using ridi sidi stop your spirtaul growth.. or is it still possiabable to obtain sach khand or must you wait another lifetime? Eg someone uses their ridi sidi but he or she doesn't show what he has obtained ( no ego) can this person still obtain sach khand and salvation?
  5. Wahegurujikakhalsawahegurujikifateh One time the sangat at Bengal did a benti to Sant Baba Sundar Singh Ji Bhindranwale to come over there and do parchar of this beautiful marg of Satguru Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji Maharaj. A Gurmat Smagam was held in Calcutta, West Bengal. A lot of sangat had gathered there to listen to the Gurmat Parchar of Mahapursh. Amongst the sangat there was a tantric Yogi. He had seen the huge crowds which had gathered and jealousy entered his mind. He began to think to himself that I have all the tantric powers in my hands. If I was to utter a spell and place it on this Mahapursh then all these people/sangat will begin to follow me. In this way as Santji was walking past the tantric Yogi, the yogi began to utter a spell and threw a copper wire at Santji. At the time the spell was uttered/thrown Santji was uttering Sri Mool Mantar Sahib Ji. As the pavan pavitar amrit bani of Maharaj was being uttered the spell bounced off Santji and fell upon the Yogi. Those who were present began to hear the Yogi scream in pain as his body began to burn. Just then Santji moved towards the Yogi and with his hand touched the Yogi and blessed him. As soon as Santji did this all the Yogi's pain and suffering ended and he was brought to the plane of peace. From that day everytime Santji used to go past that place the tantric yogi would stand up with his hands folded and head bowed towards Santji. One day some Singhs asked Santji why this Yogi who had never got up before or shown any respect to Santji had all of a sudden changed. Santji smiled and said this is the kirpa of Satguru Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji Maharaj. The Singhs began to say Santji you are keeping something from us, please do kirpa. Santji then began to explain what had happened. He said that this Yogi had made thousands follow him through his spells and intended to do the same to Santji and the sikh sangat. But he didn't know that Santji was one who recited Sri Mool Mantar Sahib Ji 24 hours a day. If someone tries to place a spell on one who recites Sri Mool Mantar Sahib it is like trying to throw something up into the sky - it's only going to come back in one direction. Akho Satnaam Sri Waheguru. Dhan Dhan Satguru Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji Maharaj. Guru Sahib Kirpa Karo especially in this day and age where many people try to use spells to take away our brothers and sisters. Loose translation from katha by Sant Avtar Singh Ji Wahegurujikakhalsawahegurujikifateh
  6. Waheguru ji ka khalsa Waheguru ji ke fateh! I've recently received poor grades for my a levels - and have been told to drop the subjects I enjoyed the most because I received poor grades © in them. I don't know what to do, like I said I do the sukhmani sahib paath (listen to it every day) but no Sukh in my life ever seems to come. Am I doing the sukhmani sahib correctly, because I think dookh should be dispelled if you listen to the path, but for me everyday goes by and I seem to become more depressed and dissatisfied out of life. I'm beg my Lord for his naam, virtue and happiness - but I don't seem to get anything what do you gurusikhs suggest? I cannot read or understand gurmukhi for me to enable to read sggs ji , however I do read the English translation whenever possible, is this ok? I'm going back to college next week, but I do not like the course that I will be forced study (ict and business) What do I do to relinquish these sorrows and misfortune, how do I love the Lord through my heart when nothing seems to go right? What do you Gurusikhs do when meditating, how do you love the Lord within? All answers will be very much appreciated.
  7. Did anyone ever know about this? http://tisarpanth.blogspot.co.nz/2014/10/david-versus-goliath.html?view=magazine
  8. 1.) What is the symbolic significance behind the Ashtbhuj/Astbhuj Duja? 2.) What is the history behind it? Do others exist? 3.) Any pre-Sikh era history behind it?
  9. So basically, with Maharaj ji's Kirpa I will finally be blessed with Amrit next week and honestly I can't wait I'm just so so excited. Thing is, I don't know how to do my dastar on that day considering the panj piaarae put Amrit in ur kesh as well. I don't want to do a joora I want to do my dastar I just don't know how to tie it so they can still put Amrit in my kesh. Any ideas? Please help.
  10. I wonder if Waheguru really exists because I have NEVER seen him helping people who believe in him. HE always supports the bad people?? Why does he keep giving them chances?? why can't he just punish them right away?? Why does he do that???why can't he for once support the truth and the person who has complete faith in him. why does he keep testing?? whats the point of believing in waheguru if you have to go through your entire life???
  11. fast to please babaji to listen to my prayers???
  12. I'm a 17 yrs old gurusikh and i just seem to feel detached from the world , I don't seem happy anymore to my friends and family - nothing seems enjoyable,I know being detached is a good thing; as stated by guru ji - but is their shabad that can bring happiness and remove boredem and dis-satisfaction out of my life very quickly whilst remaining detached?
  13. I was recently wandering while doing ardas -hoping waheguru ji will help in this world with many things. But then out of no where I just thought to myself that if I want to attain something in this world then it will come through Rudi sidhi powers( which guru ji prohibits us from using, as it inhibits our spirtality) - is that true?? So my question is when doing ardas for asking prayers to be ansawered are we in anyway using ridi sidi powers or will waheguru ji helps attain what we want without us using our powers (through the blessing of waheguru ji blesses us with) - I ask this because I don't want to lose my waheguru ji and the level of spirituality I have attained but I still want some of my prayers answered.
  14. Wjkk Wjkf I've been paath for a few weeks now, and today i prayed waheguru ji that I want to become jivan mukhti and attach to him for the rest of my life, and I felt really connected to waheguru ji whilst listening to the sukhmani sahib paath, but then all of a sudden around 7 pm ish I kept on getting doubts 'about existance of God' Why has waheguru ji put such thoughts in my mind , I want to become closer to him not further Is God testing me? What do I do? How do I dispel doubt? I am not a amritdhari as yet due to the environment I live(no religous familily), but I seek to become one in the near furture. I would like help from all guruSikhs and the Sat sangat - what do I do Thank you all Wjkk Wjkf

  16. WJKK WJKF, I am 14 years old, trying to become a real Sikh. I just wanted to know how other Gursikhs spend their day on Sikhi, such as the time they wake up and the banis they do and when they sleep and everything that happens in your day. I just wanted to see if I can model it. Please also provide the times, so that I know how much time it takes for each part of the schedule. Bul Chuk Maaf Kareo. Thank you very much.
  17. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Kee Fateh, Sorry for any of my mistakes. I am only 14 years old and I hear a lot about how simran is important and it helps us attain waheguru. But I don't know how to do it. Whenever I hear a katha, they always explain why we should do it, not how ot do it. Please tell me what I need to do. I tried listening many times to Bhai Harjinder Singh Ji Sri Nagar Wale's Waheguru jaap kirtan because I like it but the problem is that after doing it, I don't feel anything. I don't even get that feeling like I did something. Please help me. Thank you very much.
  18. WJKK WJKF, I want to become a granthi and serve my guru but I don't know how to. I don't read fluent gurmukhi, sometimes skip nitnem, and don't know a lot of gurbani. I live in US and don't have kesh. I don't know kirtan. I don't go to any gurudwara Punjabi school and I cant go. What can I do to become one. Please help me. I really need it.
  19. Waheguru ji ka khalsa Waheguru ji ke Fatah Lots Of people I know of say the term 'God d*mn' Is this a slanderous term When I hear I just can't seem to get it out of my thought, and end up feeling really guility. Thank you all for help
  20. What should I do to make waheguru listen to me? Somebody told me I should do certain number of Sukhmani Sahib Path and waheguru will definitely fulfill my wish but nope, nothing happened. I have started to feel that more good you do in your life, more you suffer.
  21. I have a few questions regarding Gurbani i.e. specifically the Bani of the Bhagats or Bhagat Bani. 1.) As per Gurbani who is a Bhagat and who is a Guru? 2.) How do both inter-relate? 3.) Was Bhagat Bani edited by the Gurus? If so how and why? 4.) What criterion do the Bhagat's set for a Guru and vice versa? 5.) Why and how did Guru Nanak Dev Ji select the 15 Bhagats whose compositions we revere? 6.) Chronologically when did these Bhagats reside in relation to the Gurus? 7.) In light of both Bhagat Bani (and Guru-Bani) are we given to understand that the following statement holds coin in Sikhi? 'Sikh Dharma was always there in the form of "Sanataan Dharma" or the ever-existent faith. As per the times, Guru Nanak Dev Ji and his successors initiated revolutionary changes.' -S.J.S Pall. 8.) How did Purataan sampradas co-relate with the apostles of the Bhagats? 9.) How embellished are the Janamsaakhis which relate meetings between the Gurus and the Bhagats despite substantive chronological variations?
  22. Are there any good artists on this forum looking to promote their work? I have an offer to make. You make a website, showcase your work and if possible commercialize it i.e. sell it. I am willing to use your artwork on my blog Tisarpanth if it has substantial merit. This way not only will you get a free promotion of your artwork it will also boost my articles. What say you? I am already working with infamous arts, http://tisarpanth.blogspot.co.nz/2014/07/the-armed-sage.html?view=magazine, I can also accommodate others as well. Why am I doing this? I admit my articles are inferior to others and I do have problems with my grasp of the english language but I want to break this age old mentality that the humanities and arts have no place in modern Sikh thought. When I wanted to go to uni and do a degree in writing (english, media) I was criticized by my own family for my decision. Ironically I took another way out, one which pleased them, but this criticism still rankles in my eyes. Our elders think promoting the panth means listening to monotonous oratory, I don't. I vindicate that everything has it's own place and we need to start utilizing our creativeness for panthic promulgation. If anyone wishes to align with me then please drop a line here.
  23. This is a question for all the sikhs including myself are we really sikhs or just known to be sikhs. How is our relation going on with god? Do we meditate on GOD? OR WE are stuck in getting a different nation? Does every sikh understands Gurbani? Why do sikhs don't respect other religions? Whereas GURU sahib respected every religion. 25. Hi quick question. Why do punjabi Sikhs believe in Shaheed's? Let me explain further... why do many punjabi Sikhs place Shaheed's on the very same platform as the Guru Granth Sahib? And devote certain days to them? Thank you
