  6. Watch the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=feWmDMKRH6U For the past two years, millions of common Indians came out on the streets to fight against the biggest evil in our country today - corruption. This people's anti-corruption movement has exposed the ugly and greedy face of our politicians. No political party in India today works for the common man's needs. The Jan lokpal Movement was a call to all the politicians of India to listen to the common man's plea. For almost 2 years the movement tried every single way available. Despite the huge wave of public support in favour of a strong anti-corruption law, all political parties cheated the people of India and deliberately sabotaged the Jan lokpal Bill. It's not that all politicians are corrupt, It's the corrupted system that doesn't allow honest politicians to survive and there is a need to change this system immediately. AAP entered politics to change the current corrupt and self-serving system of politics forever. So that no matter who comes to power in the future, the system is strong enough to withstand corruption at any level of governance. AAP is the only party working to introduce/aware/develop the full system of democracy, so that India will be a True Sovereign Democratic Republic. If we allow AAP to fail, "we may as well give up hope of any substantial change in our moral compass".
  7. http://www.ndtv.com/article/india/former-punjab-dgp-shashi-kant-claims-abduction-bid-joins-aap-469614 Former Punjab DGP Shashi Kant claims abduction bid; joins AAP All India | Press Trust of India | Updated: January 10, 2014 23:54 IST Chandigarh: Former Punjab DGP Shashi Kant claimed that some policemen tried to abduct him this morning when he was going to the Aam Aadmi Party's office in Fatehgarh Sahib to join the outfit. Later in the day, the former Director General of Police (Prison) joined AAP at his residence in the presence of senior leaders of the outfit. Mr Kant alleged that some police personnel in civil uniforms made an unsuccessful attempt to abduct him when he came out of his residence in Sector 18 of the city this morning for being vocal against drug rackets in the state. He said he immediately called the Police Control Room (PCR), after which personnel from Chandigarh police rushed to the spot and rounded up at least five persons. The former DGP (Prison) alleged that he was continuously being "pressurised" by Punjab police after he had been vocal about drug nexus in the state. He alleged that politicians from major political parties, including Akali Dal and Congress, in the state and certain senior policemen were "patronising" drug mafias. Mr Kant late this evening joined the AAP in the presence of senior leaders of the newly-floated party. Meanwhile, Chandigarh Police looked into the matter and found that four members of an unarmed investigation team had gone to Sector 18 area in connection with an ongoing investigation pertaining to Mohali district. "They were duly examined by Chandigarh Police and it was concluded that there was no 'kidnapping plan' of any kind whatsoever as apprehended by Shashi Kant," a police officer said. However, the complaint submitted by Mr Kant was dismissed as the accusations in it were unfounded, the officer said. Speaking on the matter, Chandigarh SSP Sukhchan Singh Gill said Mr Kant's complaint had been found to be wrong. Two senior police officers visited Mr Kant at his residence and reminded him that he had been provided with two PSOs from Punjab Security Wing. They told the former DGP, if he has any such apprehensions in future, he or his PSOs should contact the Security Wing, police sources said. Meanwhile, Punjab Congress Chief Partap Singh Bajwa condemned the alleged attempt by police personnel to abduct Mr Kant. In a statement, he said the incident was "shocking and uncalled for". He alleged that ruling SAD leaders were frightened after the name of Mr Majithia had came to the fore in the synthetic drug racket. Mr Bajwa said Congress had taken up the issue of drugs in Punjab and started a state-wide agitation demanding a CBI inquiry into the drug racket. He said Mr Kant had also prepared a list of political leaders and police officers who are running drug mafia in Punjab. "He (Kant) had feared threat to his life from the ruling party," Mr Bajwa said. The Congress leader said Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal, who holds the home portfolio, owed an explanation on the issue of kidnapping attempt of Mr Kant. He said this incident had endorsed the stand of Congress that Punjab police could not probe the drug racket, being under the influence of the ruling SAD-BJP government.
  8. http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/india/Aam-Aadmi-Party-joins-Sikh-protest-against-Sajjans-acquittal/articleshow/19858925.cms NEW DELHI: In support of the Sikh community's protests over the acquittal of Congress leaderSajjan Kumar in a 1984 anti-Sikh riots case, Arvind Kejriwal's Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Friday joined the hunger strike for a day at Jantar Mantar in central Delhi. "We are joining hands with our Sikh brothers to protest against the acquittal of Sajjan Kumar. We will join the protest of the family of Nirpreet Kaur, who began her indefinite hunger strike from today (Friday)," Manish Sisodia, senior AAP membertold IANS. In solidarity with Kaur, AAP members Arvind Kejriwal, Manish Sidoda, Gopal Rai, Sanjay Singh and Kumar Vishwas will also sit on a day's fast, and later continue to support her indefinite hunger strike. Various Sikh groups have been on protest since Tuesday, ever since the verdict was pronounced. On Thursday, they staged a protest at the residence of Congress president Sonia Gandhi. Over 115 protesters were detained and later let off. A day after the verdict, on Wednesday, protesters had blocked busy roads in the national capital. Metro services were also disrupted by the protests for a few hours. The Sikh groups are angry that a city court acquitted Sajjan Kumar in a case related to the killing of five people in the Delhi Cantonment area during violence against Sikhs that followed the assassination of then prime minister Indira Gandhi Oct 31, 1984. The court convicted five others in the case. We know both BJP(+Akali Dal) and Congress are highly anti-Sikh. We also know that more panthic parties( like SAD-A) have no chance to make it to the national stage in India, they dont even garner enough votes in Punjab. In this scenario, should Sikhs align with this new political party ( at least on national stage) which has done some good work to expose Congress and BJP's corruption in last few months-years. Obviously Sikhs of Punjab need to get rid of their association with BJP( which occurred primarily because of historic anti-Congress stance since 1984) to project themselves as a community which stands upto justice and human rights. With AAP trying to show some solidarity with the Sikhs( which BJP hasnt done ), do you think its high time that Sikhs should align themselves with AAP on the national stage( with AAP's image being primarily anti-Congress and anti-BJP and more focussed on exposing these parties' corrupt leaders.)
