  1. There are discussions going on in some threads at the moment about whether Sheikh Farid ji was a Muslim. I would like to hold these discussions in one place, partially because they are extraneous to the thread titles in those other threads, and we should let those threads discuss the specific items that the thread creators wanted to originally discuss: http://sikhsangat.com/index.php?/topic/80863-human-rights-in-islam/ http://sikhsangat.com/index.php?/topic/80838-why-muslims-should-never-be-trusted/ I propose that Sheikh Farid ji was not a Muslim at then end, whatever he may have been at some time. I started off with: S4NGH then responded with And I followed up with:
  2. I recently read a debate regarding the so-called status of Bhagat Ravidass as the Guru of Guru Nanak Dev Ji. This is sheer fallacy in light of certain facts which I have incorporated into this article. http://tisarpanth.blogspot.co.nz/2014/09/the-elephant-in-room-i.html?view=magazine I don't believe that the Bhagats actually met the Gurus, or all of the Bhagats met the Gurus. I base my assertion on the fact that no substantive chronology of any Bhagat can be established. Other than that, each to his own but Sikhs would do well to remember that the claim, 'all the writings of the Bhagats are in the AGGS,' is extremely exacerbated. There are certain hymns of Bhagat Ravidass, seeing the debate, which are not housed in the AGGS due to their pantheistic content.
  3. I have a few questions regarding Gurbani i.e. specifically the Bani of the Bhagats or Bhagat Bani. 1.) As per Gurbani who is a Bhagat and who is a Guru? 2.) How do both inter-relate? 3.) Was Bhagat Bani edited by the Gurus? If so how and why? 4.) What criterion do the Bhagat's set for a Guru and vice versa? 5.) Why and how did Guru Nanak Dev Ji select the 15 Bhagats whose compositions we revere? 6.) Chronologically when did these Bhagats reside in relation to the Gurus? 7.) In light of both Bhagat Bani (and Guru-Bani) are we given to understand that the following statement holds coin in Sikhi? 'Sikh Dharma was always there in the form of "Sanataan Dharma" or the ever-existent faith. As per the times, Guru Nanak Dev Ji and his successors initiated revolutionary changes.' -S.J.S Pall. 8.) How did Purataan sampradas co-relate with the apostles of the Bhagats? 9.) How embellished are the Janamsaakhis which relate meetings between the Gurus and the Bhagats despite substantive chronological variations?
  4. Question by Kabirpanthi - Sikh Gurus copy posted verses in Guru Granth Sahib . I request all knowledgeable persons to help me to answer him back , few months back i have similar debate with Ravidasia
  5. VJKK VJKF Please help me to understand the meaning of the last part of the Bani: gourree kabeer jee || Gauree, Kabeer Jee: jaa kai har saa t(h)aakur bhaaee || One who has the Lord as his Master, O Siblings of Destiny mukath ana(n)th pukaaran jaaee ||1|| - countless liberations knock at his door. ||1|| ab kahu raam bharosaa thoraa || If I say now that my trust is in You alone, Lord, thab kaahoo kaa kavan nihoraa ||1|| rehaao || then what obligation do I have to anyone else? ||1||Pause|| theen lok jaa kai hehi bhaar || He bears the burden of the three worlds; so kaahae n karai prathipaar ||2|| why should He not cherish you also? ||2|| kahu kabeer eik budhh beechaaree || Says Kabeer, through contemplation, I have obtained this one understanding. kiaa bas jo bikh dhae mehathaaree ||3||22|| If the mother poisons her own child, what can anyone do? ||3||22||
  6. Waheguru ji ka Khalsa Waheguru ji ki Fateh. I need good answers please for the following questions: 1.) What is Bhagat Bani and why is it in Guru Granth Sahib Ji? 2.) What is Bhatt Bani and why is it in Guru Granth Sahib Ji? 3.) Why is an amritdhari Sikh allowed to do chaur sahib over Guru Sahibaan? 4.) What about Sindhis and others who believe in Guru Sahibaan? Do they also have sabaat-Suraat Singhs doing seva of Guru Sahibaan? 5.) Who are the Bhagats of Bhagat Bani and how are they related to Sikhi. That is did they do something for Guru Nanak Dev Sahib Ji? 6.) Non-Sikhs can follow Gurbani but does this mean only certain bits as most other religions, though respected by Sikhs, run contrary to Sikh thought? This is for my page on facebook.
