  1. this is a slightly deep topic, so apoligies if u dont understand what i type, then sorry for not explaining it better : / . its a hard topic to explain.. we are all under the hukam of god. hukam maters. we also have percieved choices and actions that we percieve that we are making, as in, deciding to do sum paat for example. dhan guru naanak paatshaha defines a true human, a true sikh, a true muslim when they said >>>>>>>>>>>> sloku mÚ 1 ] salok ma 1 || Salok, First Mehla: muslmwxu khwvxu musklu jw hoie qw muslmwxu khwvY ] musalamaan kehaavan musakal jaa hoe thaa musalamaan kehaavai || It is difficult to be called a Muslim; if one is truly a Muslim, then he may be called one. Avil Aauil dInu kir imTw mskl mwnw mwlu muswvY ] aval aoul dheen kar mit(h)aa masakal maanaa maal musaavai || First, let him savor the religion of the Prophet as sweet; then, let his pride of his possessions be scraped away. hoie musilmu dIn muhwxY mrx jIvx kw Brmu cukwvY ] hoe musalim dheen muhaanai maran jeevan kaa bharam chukaavai || Becoming a true Muslim, a disciple of the faith of Mohammed, let him put aside the delusion of death and life. rb kI rjwie mMny isr aupir krqw mMny Awpu gvwvY ] rab kee rajaae ma(n)nae sir oupar karathaa ma(n)nae aap gavaavai || As he submits to God's Will, and surrenders to the Creator, he is rid of selfishness and conceit. qau nwnk srb jIAw imhrMmiq hoie q muslmwxu khwvY ]1] tho naanak sarab jeeaa mihara(n)math hoe th musalamaan kehaavai ||1|| And when, O Nanak, he is merciful to all beings, only then shall he be called a Muslim. ||1|| <<<<<<<<<<< the percieved control that we have, seems to matter, as well as hukam. y is this? i understand that >we are all under hukam. >there aint anything outside hukam. >only IF WE booj the hukam, >THEN nothing of us will be left, as we dissolve in god himself. end of pauri 2 in japjisahib.. if we can choose to deny following the hukam, then we are outside hukam. but, this cant be. i understand that we make a percieved choice of not following hukam, as in, to booj the hukam, but how can we even aim to say, "no i dont wana booj the hukam" if in effect, its hukam to say "no i dont wana booj the hukam" in the first place? there is no if / then we follow the hukam (or not), as its all part of hukam. ^^hope this lil bit is understood as its the main part / essence of my question. the only answer i can come up with to this 'lil' problem i have, is that guru G has told us a shortcut to god. as in, we can use our percieved control to aim to push forward in our own avastha. thus merging with god. .......... but then, again, it is only us percieving that we push to increase our avastha, cuz jor na mangan.. (the jor na mangan bit i do understand to a comfortable degree.. - as we can never understand gurbani to its fullest!) - jus to say, the jor na mangan pauri says basically that, we cant do anything, so we must naam jup. (cuz he is doing everything and seeing everything). i do want answers, but more so, i want thoughts on hukam and hukam boojna, and the idea of staying in razza (the pathway) of god. dhan guru.
