  1. Should we be celebrating the new year after the saheedian of the shahibizade, or is this just typical of us in this day and age and do we have short memories. Some will let of fireworks maybe even in some Gurdwaras, also would the sikhs of that time (during / after the saheedian) celebrated a new year straight after ? (which does not fall at the same time in indian calendar). Personally it should be time of sitting in the presence of SGGS ji, reflecting on the past, thanking Guru ji asking for peace in the world in a quite and dignified but not sombre manner, listening to katha and kirtan, but no fireworks or frantically shaking hands, hugging and patting on the back at the turn of midnight. but we should remain dignified and in chardi kala always.
