  1. So I saw naamdharis pop-up on my youtube on my TV, it was some programme in Canada with their current Guru and even their really famous top Raag Keertani was doing a speech. So I was just fast-backwarding through the video (I think because it was live on youtube you reverse instead of forward), and I saw them doing the ardaas. I was curious to listen to how they do the ardaas. Then I head the notorious patshahi 12 barvi mentioned at the start of the ardaas. Since the 1st pauri of Chandi Di Vaar is universal in sikh ardaas, then how can naamdharis change patshahi 10 dasvi to patshahi 12 barvi if it's technically changing 1st pauri of chandi di vaar? Also why only 12 if they have had more Gurus now who they do name in the ardaas?
  2. When reading Chandi Di Vaar you should be standing and holding a shastar in your hand. Big or small it does not matter. You could also do it sitting but then you must place your shastar in front of you. It should be read at amritvela and before the sun sets. I like to read path with a jot as a big light is usually to bright. You should use a toof for good smell. You can sit on a blanket which is laid out on floor or a bed. You should have some water near you while reading the path. At the end you should drink it and sprinkle it around. I also recommend doing kirtan of this path witj the sal sangat or listening to it. I recommend reading ugardanti after reading Chandi di Vaar In short you need Shastars Jot Toof Water Full ishnan(including kes) Hopefully this has taught you something about the maryada. (Maryada is the same for Ugardanti and Shastar naam mala and other dasam bani for the most part)
  3. My family saw me reading Chandi Di Vaar, and got really scared Lol. They thought that a person goes crazy or gets MAAAD!!!! Or its only to be read during war!!!! How can convince them otherwise??!
  4. Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh, I feel I need a great amount of mental and spiritual strength to develop and get through the days, where I face many challenges. I'm turning to Chandi Di Vaar, having heard that this bani will provide me with that strong mentality. However, reading the translations, I do not understand it. I do not understand its meaning; I am trying to relate the battle to that of the mind and the panj chor, but I do not know if this is at all correct. Can somebody please explain to me? Can I read Chandi Di Vaar without understanding it? It feels like pakhand if I do.
  5. WJKK WJKF At the end of Chandi Di Vaar it says "Durga path banaya sabay paurian || Fir na jooni aaya jin eh gaaya ||55|| Is the meaning of this literally how its's translated or does it get deeper? Does it mean mukhti or something else? Sorry if this's been asked before, I couldn't find an answer. WJKK WJKF
  6. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh, As I have been getting older and hopefully with the blessings of Maharaj, a little more able to understand baani, i have been reading a lot of Sri Dasam Granth Sahib Ji, cross referencing with many different great scholars interpretations and wanted to raise the topic of Durga/Bhagauti ji? I dont mean to offend anyone or their beliefs by raising this topic, i would just like a deeper understanding of this matter. I am aware of the interpretation of Adi Shakti and the interpretations of Bhagauti being a sword, however this begs the question to what Bhagauti stands for then when at the start of Chandi Di Vaar, Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaj writes: ਸ੍ਰੀ ਭਗਉਤੀ ਜੀ ਸਹਾਇ ॥ ਵਾਰ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਭਗਉਤੀ ਜੀ ਕੀ ॥ ਪਾਤਸਾਹੀ ੧੦ ॥ Now im humbly an okay reader of Gurmukhi but everywhere you look into the translations, the first interprets ਭਗਉਤੀ as a sword, then when speaking of the poem of Bhagauti in the sentence directly after, everyone interprets ਭਗਉਤੀ as Durga Maa in every translation. Why and how is this the case? If ਭਗਉਤੀ means the sword then would the tale of Chandi Di Vaar not make sense and why does it mean different in the next sentence? and if it is Durga Maa then whats the big deal and why do people get really offended when this is raised because isn't she just the sargun personification of the Adi Shakti of Akaal Purakh ji? And by interpreting it in this way its not in any way forgetting Akaal Purakh or worshiping another its just a way of understanding an aspect right? In addition to this, wouldnt all the beautiful puratan swaroops of Dasam Granth Sahib Ji make more sense this way as they have pictures of Durga? I am very sorry if this offends anyone or i have made grave mistakes or been misled, im just humbly trying to expand my knowledge and understanding and would greatly appreciate if anyone could help? thanks sangat ji.
